I told the front desk that I changed purses and inadvertently left my license in that purse, she said oh, I understand however our policy is you have present it at the time of service. She then picked up her cell phone and called who I am assuming was her manager to explain the situation. Now, from where I was standing I could hear the responses...this person, stated absolutely not, I had to have my drivers license or state I.D. right now or I could not be seen. I told the receptionist as soon as I got home I could upload my I.D. into the patient portal; her posture remained the same. She was told I have credit cards, that match my name, not to mention I completed all office forms with the same identification. Still no go...I certainly understand policy, however there has to be a little give. Why couldn't they just see me?? If I did not provide the I.D. they could have just not scheduled any further appointments until provided. The front desk was not friendly at all and not very customer oriented. I will not be returning

Krates has a five star product in their doctors and a three star setting in their office support…read more Too many of the front desk staff are less than customer orientated. I speak of the Orland Park location and had a brief conversation with Oak Lawn. My experience with Dr. Katsoulakis and Dr. O. Donnell were more than satisfying. However, it appears that there is no way to reach them if necessary after the office visit. I am sorry to learn that the aftercare appears not important. Perhaps that is the Krates structure.

Heart Care Centers of Illinois Mokena, Illinois…read more The quality of care by my husband's cardiologist and my cardiologist, have been excellent, however, the office staff, the office supervisor and the lack of the 21 century computer technology has NOT been good. We have had numerous problems getting our medications refilled with their office staff blaming the pharmacy for not transmitting (faxing) the refill requests appropriately. Per the office supervisor, they have "problems with numerous pharmacies." As stated to the office supervisor, if there are numerous problems with numerous pharmacies faxing these requests, then it would appear that the real problem may be on the receiving end (Heart care) and how these medication refill requests are not being processed appropriately by the Heart care staff. It would be in Heart care's best interest (along with patients' best interests) for this healthcare provider to invest in computer systems or programs that allow for electronic transfer of medication prescriptions or refill requests, as almost all other health care providers do, instead of relying on archaic fax transmittals. It was impossible to speak to a nurse or our cardiologist, as the office staff screen our call and deny access to care by the physician or healthcare professional. This is a dangerous practice as the office staff are not medically qualified to do this. I hope that in the near future, Heart care steps into the 21st century with their computer systems, software and office management. As for my husband and I, we will be looking to find a new cardiologist office that takes quality of patient care, management and computer literacy as a priority.
