This place truly has GREAT French toast! I went and had coffee and breakfast with a side of hash browns. The tricky part is getting medium eggs cooked just like I like, and this place had it perfect the first time. What was a little lacking was the side of hash browns.... Which could have been a fluke, but mine were very chewy and I couldn't finish them because of the texture. I let my waitress know about the issue and she could even see that I hadn't eaten all of it, but told me I should have said something sooner? I don't mind paying, but when a customer gives you honest feedback, I kind of feel like I should not have been charged for those hash browns because they didn't taste right, but I was not really in the mood to bicker about it, so I paid and left. read more

Now, the decor is outdated and it always a bit chilly inside but, the breakfast portions are hearty and you will be treated kindly. There is even a buy one meal get one free coupon - I am unsure how you get it, we get it mailed to our home address every so often - but boy, oh boy is it nice to go out for a warm, big breakfast and only spend ~$20! We've only ordered from here a handful of times. Today we used the online ordering through door dash but this restaurant uses their own drivers. Ordered breakfast at 10:15 with ETA of 10:30-10:40........ it's now 11:30 and our breakfast, now lunch, still isn't here. My wife and I had been wanting to get this place out because who doesn't love a good breakfast. When I told the server I was deciding between two dishes she told me one of my choices was her absolute favorite, so I ordered the huevos chilaquilas and I WAS NOT disappointed. THEY. WERE. PERFECT. Food was not bad. Not sure about French toast. Didn't try. But pancakes weren't bad. Tried usual hash browns scrambled eggs. Plus biscuits and gravy was good too. But my only gripe was service. 2 times. We were overlooked. Took 30 minutes before being asked what we wanted to drink. Then another 30 minutes later to take our order. Then approximately 40 minutes before we got our food. Maybe it was just the blond server. But the other lady seemed fast & attentive to her customers. We were ready to walk out but she finally brought our food. Seems like a nice little place for locals. Everyone we noticed were attended to immediately. Would've been a nice place to go. Went here this weekend for a late breakfast around noon. Waitress took over 20 mins to being us coffee. We thought of leaving and not even eating the food we ordered bc even though the waitress kept on walking by, she was oblivious to the fact that we were missing our drinks. The place was not busy either with less than 20 people in the restaurant, three waitresses on the floor and one sitting down for a meal break talking to a Door Dasher. When the food finally came out, we had ordered their special T-Bone steak, eggs, toast and hash browns. Also ordered the biscuits and gravy skillet, scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage links. We had asked for the steak to be cooked medium rare and it came out to well done. The biscuits and gravy was literally A SOUP OF GRAVY with eggs, bacon and sausage links COMPLETELY COVERED in gravy. While some places don't drown their biscuits in gravy, this place does. You couldn't taste the eggs, bacon or links because everything was smothered. While some places may go light on the gravy and prefer that you ask for more, this wasn't the case here. Out of hunger I ate two biscuits (1 entire biscut) but couldn't finish the plate bc quite frankly I was grossed out by this soup of a gravy mess. When the waitresses came and asked if the food was OK I pointed out the steak was cooked "well" and we had asked for it medium. "OH, I'll tell the cook" there was no attempt to to try and bring out a new one. Instead, we got the bill (~$30) and a coupon for a "buy one get one free". Did we get the steak meal comped or even offered a discount? Not a chance. If this is how attentive they are when they're not busy, I hate to see what they're like when they are busy. A friend had recommended this place and years back when it was Flipping Eggs and under different ownership, IT WAS A TERRIFIC BREAKSFAST JOINT. This, however, is a disappointment. You're better off spending your money at Egg Haven, Lincoln Inn/Faranda's, Sycamore Cafe or Eggsclusive. If I could give more than 5 stars I definitely would. My partner and I were passing through after a wedding and we stopped in for breakfast. There were a LOT of people there, and we soon found out why. The food was phenomenal! And the waitstaff were very nice and attentive even while they were super busy. The company we shared at the bar was friendly and regulars for good reason. We learned from them that the owner of the restaurant often cooks in the back, which is just stunning work ethic. The coffee was great. We had eggs Benedict and the Butcher omelet, and it was all delicious. The hash browns were some of the best I've ever had. My husband and I stopped by for breakfast this morning, and I noticed a group of 8 or so people sitting at a nearby table. One of the women complained about absolutely everything, yet the server still managed to maintain a positive attitude and went out of her way to accommodate them. When it was time to pay, said woman was at the cash register arguing about absolutely everything and making claims that she had driven X amount of miles just to eat here and she was so disappointed and all this other nonsense. She was clearly trying to con the restaurant into giving her free meals. Pretty gross behavior considering how hard the staff work to keep the business open during times like these. Went here about a year ago and it was pretty decent, nothing special but worth going if you're looking for a simple breakfast for a reasonable price. I went there this morning and it is not the same place. My boyfriend and I ordered a tall stack of pancakes with a side of bacon. First of all the pancakes were undercooked and rubbery. They looked and tasted like frozen pancakes and were not good at all I could barely choke down one even with syrup and butter. Speaking of the butter was disgusting. I regret even putting it on and should've known better because it reeked when you opened it and looked chunky. My guess is that it had been sitting in the sun for god knows how long. Anyways I'm pretty sure that's why I have a stomach ache now. The coffee was pretty standard I can't really complain about it as was the bacon. The staff seemed overworked and a little frantic, even when there weren't many people in the place. None of the staff seemed happy to be there but I cant blame them, the decor is very bland and depressing aside from a small collection of bobble heads on a single windowsill. This place has fallen from grace over the past year, all I know is if you order the pancakes don't expect anything good even though it's a PANCAKE HOUSE. And if the butter has been sitting in the sun, do what I should've done and ask for some from the back it will save your stomach.
