I don't normally go for Mexican in DC, but gave this spot a try. The food is actually very good. I often judge a place based on their chips and salsa. They passed my test. Our party of two started with Margaritas, with a side of chips, guac and salsa. I order a chicken burrito with pollo asado. Tried some of my friend's yucca and loved those too. Overall, a great meal. This place is very big. They have indoor seating in the front and back, as well as covered outdoor seating. We sat on the patio, but noticed the popular area is towards the back of the restaurant where the restrooms are. Decent service, but not the best for being a slow evening. That might be the downside of sitting outside on the patio.

Came here for Cinco de Mayo and was pleasantly surprised! The food was not bad and the portions were pretty decent. The verde enchiladas were tasty and come with two sides of your choice. The patio is nicely decorated and there was even live music on a Monday night. It was hard to get the attention of servers but it was likely because they were busy.

Taqueria & Rosticeria Fresca gets the job done if you need a hearty bite to eat at reasonable prices for DC without a reservation but not much more. I recently went here with a friend for a impromptu weeknight dinner and were seated immediately. We had to order on our phones using a QR code which was not intuitive and we got our food quickly. I got the mole barbacoa enchiladas, although I could not choose my sides contrary to what the menu said. The sauce, rice, and guacamole were all fine; everything else was disappointing. The beans were extremely salty, the barbacoa tough, and the tortillas soggy.

Was in the mood for some tacos so I decided to check our this reaturant. I grabbed 3 steak tacos to go. The tacos were good, however, a bit pricey for the size. No sides like rice or beans with what I ordered. They do have a nice outside dining area amd staff is friendly and helpful.

Still lovely we have ever and they have incense to keep the mosquitoes at bay so you can enjoy the outdoor vibe! Service is good - love that the servers let us practice Spanish... food is always good!

I had been wanting to try Fresca since it's local to me and finally had a chance to stop by last night. It was about 7:30 and the inside part of the restaurant was empty. The outside had a few occupied tables and we had no issues getting sat. By the time we left about an hour later most of the outdoor tables were sat. We ordered chips and salsa and they were average, lots of chips and a small bowl of salsa. For drinks we got the jalapeño & pineapple margarita and I rate that about a 2/5 - overly sweet and not enough tequila. I ordered 2 fish tacos and 1 shrimp taco and rate those a 2/5. The fish and shrimp were tasty but a bit dry. I asked for some hot sauce and got a dish with a green and red sauce, neither was too spicy and I ended up using the salsa from the chips for the tacos. My boyfriend did the same with his chicken quesadilla so I'm assuming his was a bit dry too. Overall the patio is cute, the service is decent (they're probably understaffed), the prices were comparable for the area and the food and drinks were just average.

Taqueria & Rosticeria Fresca is a little Mexican joint in H Street Corridor. It's good for lunch, but not a place for the best tacos you've ever had. What makes this place cool and unique is definitely their outdoor patio. It's very comfortable, and has lots of nice plants all around. The main dining area definitely didn't seem as nice to sit in. The horchata here is super on point. I really appreciate that it was on the sweeter side. The tacos were good, but I was not a fan of the tortillas. They broke apart pretty easily. Presentation, however, was pretty good. The salsa was also sorta mid - not as spicy or as flavorful as I would want my salsa to be. Overall, this place is good if you're craving Mexican food - it just won't blow your mind. A good place to sit and chill though!

I came here for lunch on a warm day and wanted something that would fill me up but not weigh me down to the point I couldn't walk to Capitol Hill. I saw many reviews for the veggie tostadas and got myself one, it was very good! It was smaller than I thought but nevertheless after eating it felt like a good portion size how much it was - $5. I asked the waiter for a vegetarian recommendation because though there are some options, there are also a decent amount of vegetarian choices here too. The waiter recommended the corn tamales which was a pretty big serving size for me; sharing it was perfect. This place has such a nice outdoor seating area, it's right by downtown and though quite busy on an afternoon they were so welcoming!

I give Fresca a 2.2/5 stars I ordered the shrimp tacos. The flavor wasn't totally there for me. The shrimp tasted frozen or even over cooked and really chewy. I did like the spicy salsa which cut through the bland taco. The margarita I got was a great portion, and definitely the best part of the meal.

Very good. Although small, their fish tacos are excellent. Very popular with neighborhood workers and police officers.

Lovely service and staff. However absolutely horrible food, no flavor or spice, not at all Mexican, and unfortunately way over priced.

Tienen memelas, picadas, gorditas y hacen entrega a domicilio?

They do not offer home delivery. Menu is combination of Mexican and Central American staples. Smoked chicken and ribs on Saturdays. Awesome mole specials on Sundays.

Interior is nice, they could do without the 70 inch flatscreen screensaver in the back of the restaurant - otherwise liked the layout and decor. Service was a bit spotty, but very friendly. Bussing was top tier. We ordered about 6 items and were told "things will come out as they are ready". Great, I dig that type of service and we're in no hurry. We got our drinks about 5 minutes after we ordered them... and then 5 of the 6 dishes came out less than a minute after that. Not a good look. The final dish came out 2 minutes later, our table was completely out of room, they had to take our share plates. Definitely put a damper on a nice dinner, and the speed at which everything came out was... oddly quick for such a diverse order. Anyway, tostones were the best. Lomo saltado roll just tasted like a sweet Americanized sushi roll - didn't get any steak flavor really. Causas were okay. Ceviche was solid, no complaints. They had a take on bang bang shrimp, shrimp were cooked very well but way too much spicy mayo for our taste. Arroz con pollo was delightful, and a plentiful serving. Where there's smoke metal margarita was delicious. Pisco sours were absolute fire. Glad we tried it, but probably a one and done.

Super popular tourist spot (and with good reason!),I def reccomend making a reservation. Luckily for my visit on a Saturday at 1pm, the wait to be seated wasn't too long, only about 10 minutes. I've never had oysters anywhere besides New York so I wanted to try them here and my mom got the fried oyster deviled eggs. Our sever Stephanie was such a delight and probably has the coolest pin collection I've ever seen. Also the restaurant just has a really beautiful atmosphere to sit down and enjoy some really great hospitality. Onto the food! Oysters were smaller than I thought they'd be but SO FLAVORFUL and just the right amount of brine, and slid beautifully from the shell 10/10 The deviled eggs were given a 10/10, presentation was beautiful and the pickled relish was a well rounded addition We then finished up by sharing the cheasapeake eggs Benedict! Which featured their famous crab cake. The HOLLANDAISE?? literally danced in my mouth. The crab meat was so tender and buttery! Only difference I would've loved if the smoked paprika that was on the deviled eggs to also be featured on the Benedict! Over all it was a very lovely and sense awakening experience 9/10

It's moved around a bit over the years and the exact original location is a mystery. The restaurant story is just the start. The food of course is where it's at. Old Ebbitt is famous for it's crab cakes according to the server so you know what direction I went in. They were more like a Maryland crab cake which has a ton of meat. We were at their lunch dining so salads were also ordered and tasted amazing. Finished the mean off with a Key Lime Pie and coffee. Reservations are highly recommended given its popularity. They also asked that all attendees in your party are present so remember that to be seated. Situated near the White House, and directly across the street from The Department of Treasury, it's an ideal spot for a meal before or after site seeing. What's clear about Old Ebbitt Grill is its longstanding appeal. President McKinley was such a fan he reportedly lived there during his Congressional days. Presidents Grant, Johnson, Cleveland, and Roosevelt all stopped in, basically making it a hot spot in Washington. If it's President approved you should go also!
