The food was pretty good. I had a raisin bun, which I would order again. But I wouldn't return to fresh baguette for one. It wasn't so good that I would go there just so I could eat one. I also had half of my wife's almond croissant, which again was very good but not so good that I would seek one out. The service was inconsistent. There were two registers, and when I walked up to the second register to pay the woman who was standing behind, it, just walked away from it. She wasn't paying any attention to me or the other customers. There were five people there and only one person was working a register. Everyone else seemed to be milling around. It wasn't that they were holding a bad attitude or anything. It was more that they were in inattentive and unaware. The ambience... Well, it provided some relief from the cold. But other than that, it was pretty stale. It was a nice place to sit and talk with friends, but nothing special.

We got the everything crogel and a pistachio orange blossom tart- both were really really good. I have to say- I was sketical about the crogel just being another food fad but it was actually really good. It had the flakiness of a croissant but packed more of the flavor of a bagel. Definitely worth a try. The seating inside is a bit limited but we didn't have a hard time sitting even on a Saturday morning. Took one star off because we ordered a cappacino and a macchiato- both took about 10 minutes to come out and made no distinction between the 2 drinks so we couldn't tell which was which and... neither did they- hah! But it was fine since neither of us ordered a specific milk to go with either of the drinks. Still it was rather odd.

Fresh Baguette always delivers on quality, no matter the location. I stopped by the Terrell Place location on a weekend near the end of the day, and it was clear they'd had a busy one since many of the pastries were sold out. Even so, the one staff member working was excellent and kept everything running smoothly. The space was clean and welcoming, just like every other Fresh Baguette I've visited. The quality of the pastries was as consistent as ever, which is why I keep coming back. And of course, I always recommend the canelé -- it's a must-try.

I'm addicted! The service and pastries are consistently outstanding. Kouign amaan is my love. I enjoy the croissants too.

Received these as a gift, so coming from the perspective that they have been sitting out for a couple hours and reheated in the oven. Despite this, you can see the visible flakes in the croissant, which is very important for a cafe marketing itself through French-style pastry! Additionally, we were so excited by the pastries we got to try. I think it has become a very American thing to add flavors, creams, toppings to plain croissants, but these felt very intentional and not doing too much, just elevating the flaky dough through simple flavors.

Staying at the nearby Hotel Monaco, Fresh Baguette is an easy place to grab a morning snack. Before we started the day, we grabbed mini chocolate croissants and other pastries. There's plenty of seating inside and lots of baked goods to pick from. My eight-year-old daughter loved her mini bread. There's croissants were tasty but I found them very flaky and a bit dry.

Such a beautiful place with delicious pastries, breads and beverages! The interior is well lit, clean, spacious and modern. Products (cookies and snacks) from France are for sale in a corner. The front has a big display case with plenty of sandwiches and pastries spaced apart. We got coffee, a butter croissant and an ahi tuna sandwich and hot coffee. The baguette the sandwich was made on was still warm. The tuna was freshly made (not canned) and accompanied by greens (arugula, tomatoes and onions). The coffee was very high quality. The butter croissant was massive, and very buttery, with a great crunch and flakiness. Unfortunately, no pictures of the food (ate it all too quickly). The dining area had plenty of seating, making for a great place for lunch, dinner or a casual coffee outing.

I've been back 3 times/month since they opened! Glad another location of Fresh Baguette opened in Penn Quarter. Scrumptious croissants and croissant bagel slice "Cro'gel" sandwiches with an everything bagel like seasoning. The sandwich was a bit pricey at $14, there's also a petite smaller size Cro'gel sandwich too. The Fall Autumn Veggie Cro'gel sandwich hit the spot with a fried egg with melted cheese, roasted veggies, aioli, and greens. The flavors blended well and very filling. While the Tarragon Egg Salad Cro'gel sandwich was fun to try, it was a bit tangy with a bold pickle flavor. If you love pickles, go for it! The Pesto/Caprese Cro'gel sandwich is a bit bland. The fluffy Almond Croissant was divine. There's a galore of breads, croissants, sandwiches, and baked goods to choose from. Would be nice to see vegetarian baguette sandwiches added to the menu. Will come back for the Veggie Cro'gel sandwich, hope it stays on the menu!

We came here for a quick snack and the food was great. We got a veggie quiche and a chocolate croissant. The quiche was nice and creamy, but could've used a bit more salt. The croissant was nice. It's a nice place to get a quick snack if you're in the area.

Buttery, flaky, crispy, with just the perfect amount of sweetness. The typical chocolate croissant was my personal favorite. Unfortunately, the location in DC has permanently closed and we were still very much in the mood for some pastries... my cousin who is French has previously sang the praises of this Lil French pastry shop, so of course I had to give it a try. I am so happy that I did because I truly believe that I have stumbled upon my new favorite pastry shop in the area! Upon walking in the smell of croissants and almonds and sweet, sweet delicacies filled my nostrils. I basically became the human version of Remy from ratatouille inhaling a delicious bouillabaisse simmering on the stove top for hours....seeing colors and flavors so bright and intoxicating I simply had to have it I walked in and my eyes were instantly attracted to so many delicious options from classics like Palmiers and Napoleons to some unique flavor combos I've never tried before combined like raspberry and pistachio. Of course, I decided to grab a little bit of everything to make an accurate assessment as a YELP Elite should!! My favorite hands-down was the Berry Millefuille. The way the pastry crumbled in my mouth with every bite, combined with the tart, fresh raspberries, and thick flavorful custard.... Was worth every penny. Honorable mentions go to the peach rosemary tart, which was so unique with the added botanical of rosemary with some fresh sweet peach slices on top and a very crunchy tart base. We all enjoyed everything we purchased! I also ordered one of their seasonal specialties, the rosemary latte with skim milk and iced. The flavors were so uniquely crafted to where you could taste everything but everything combined together for the perfect sip. The ladies who greeted us at the cash register were so patient, so kind, and so understanding of my excitement and difficulty deciding and they even helped me add on a little chocolate happy birthday rectangle to the pastry I purchased for my husband! Without a doubt, this is only the first of the many times I will visit the establishment. It was so authentic, so delicious and passed all the vibe checks even from the French side of the family. I was told I have to return when they first open to have a fresh croissant and a fresh baguette that is on par with what you would have in Paris. Even the items in the fridge were made in France and were delicious fruit nectars that were very unique- we purchased a passionfruit nectar that didn't even make it past the doors before we had completely inhaled it and purchased a lychee nectar for later. I am so excited to have learned about this establishment and believe me when I say you must run, not walk, to experience it for yourself. I ordered a house latte with an extra double shot, which made it a quad shot, and I also paid for extra ice and requested that it be served in a large cup. It wasn't a complicated order. When I saw a drink come up, I politely asked, "Is that mine by any chance?" The barista immediately told me to "hush" and said, "I'm not talking to you." I found that incredibly disrespectful and completely unacceptable. When my drink was finally handed to me, I simply asked if the quad shot had been added since I had paid extra for it. Instead of answering my question, the barista ignored me entirely, and another employee had to respond. The employee, Taleisha Young, who was wearing glasses, was especially rude throughout the interaction. No customer should be spoken to that way, especially when they're simply asking about an order they paid extra to customize. Customer service and professionalism should be a priority, and this experience fell far below that standard. Unfortunately, I will not be returning, and I will be sharing my experience on other review platforms as well. I hope management addresses the behavior of its staff so other customers don't have a similar experience.
