Bought a new e-bike but wanted to change out a few parts to make it better for me. Jeff and Rick came to my house and started right in on the job. They came to one tiny allen screw that was so over tight that they couldn't remove it. No problem. They took the bike into their shop, performed some magic and retuned it to me the next day, built just as I had asked for. Can't get any better than that. read more

Never turn your back towards water. And a new adage: Never bring your bike onto a crowded beach to watch giant waves. I did. It almost killed me. I wound up soaked, sandy, bloody, and bruised beneath a heap of people and bikes. I currently sport 9 distinct injuries and my days as a leg model appear to be over. And then there's the bikes. The two bikes brought out to the sand (because I didn't have a lock) were also hobbled. One rode only in 1st gear. Another lost use of 1 brake. The frames were intact but all of the other parts seemed bent, banged up, and bathed in a mix of saltwater and sand. In an instant, the bikes were no longer in working order. Enter John, owner of Fresh Bikes, who says things like this: * "I don't have customers; I have hundreds of new friends"; and * "I can deliver the bikes back to your home tomorrow" (free delivery and 1-day service, this after another place quoted an 8-day turnaround time). After unfortunate customer service elsewhere, I'd roped the bikes into the car trunk and headed to the Fresh Bikes address listed on Yelp where I was surprised to find myself in a residential neighborhood. John's Fresh Bikes "store" (his bike- stuffed garage) was open and John was there and he stopped whatever he was doing and did whatever needed doing for me. John quoted a price of $59 per bike adding, "if it runs less I'll charge you less". Final cost ran $80 per bike but with this attitude and service level I was almost joyous to fork it over (credit cards accepted). There's very few people in the service industry who exemplify what it is to provide excellence in service. John is one. If you have a bike in need of repair, don't hesitate to contact Fresh Bikes. And while you're at it, ask John to tell you his hawk story. read more

As a newbie, I know minimal about bikes and how to maintain it. Good thing friend recommended me to this bike shop. The owner Jon and his staff are so helpful and knowledgeable. We came here to get advice on purchasing a bike off of Craiglist and then brought the bike over for inspection/tune-up before hitting the trails. As he inspected and fine-tuned the bike, Jon took a lot of time explaining how the bike components work, walking me through maintenance 101, and even showing me a map of bike trails that are close to my neighborhood. Sure, you can take bikes to any shop, but you won't get the personal attention and care like you do at Fresh Bikes! If you have any cycling needs, definitely come here! Jon came today with his bike mechanic to do a comprehensive wash and tune for both my commuter and Ironman race bikes. The result is outstanding: both bikes look new with excellent adjustments of all parts from the chain to the break pads. such an amazing hidden gem to get your bikes serviced, repaired, built at amazingly affordable prices. Jon struck me as a "cycling" "yoda" with his extensive knowledge and skills. I wish I had found this place much sooner so I didn't have to spend days waiting for my bike to get serviced at performancebike. Freshbikes' turnaround time for me has been at the most 1 day (same day usually), which is AWESOME. If you have the time, the drive to Jon's garage is totally worth it for you'd find a lot of goodies at the shop. AMAZING how many times have I mentioned "Amazing?" :-D read more

After 3 flats during our ride I was stuck on a corner in Newport Beach looking for a bike repair shop. I saw Fresh Bike was open (early weekday morning) and decided to call. My call was answered right away and Johnny arrived to our location within 10 minutes! What a relief. He explained the problem and fixed the wheel within 15 minutes. I made a Yelp account just so I can review these awesome guys. Here's the jist of what happened. I own a vintage schwinn le tour, and I had disassembled it so I can fly it into California from Chicago. Lo and behold my handle bar stem had a extremely unique part called an expander wedge that went missing. That and what seemed like an easy re-assembly of the bike became a nightmare. I must have called close to 15 stores to see if anyone would have the part. Almost all of them said they didn't. I went to three different shops and was shocked at the amount of incompetence their bike mechanics displayed in trying to find a solution for my bike. Specifically I went to Sports Chalet, Jax, and Bike religion. (Imbeciles!!) Frustrated I FINALLY got in touch with John at Fresh Bikes, and he said that he would most definitely find a way to make my bike work. Problem? I'm five miles away from John and no car. I start walking to him with a bicycle with no handle bar, NOTE: Dont'e ever try doing that. I swear my bike was possessed, and it kept twisting around like the exorcist. Anyway, John was nice enough to check in with me and he came to me picked me up and fixed my bike like a true artist he is. Bikes are machines with little tiny parts that make it work. And John knows them like a true expert. He's a really nice guy, even gave me the perfect route to ride back. My bikes better that it ever was. His work is worth twice more than what he charges. I would recommend him to any and everyone who has a bike that needs anything done to them. Thanks John! read more

After riding my mom's 10+ year old bike this past year, I felt it was time for a new one (brakes and gear transition was giving me problems). Yes, I could've gotten that fixed but I felt it wasn't worth it. I wasn't looking for anything fancy; just something faster that I could use to get to school and work it. I don't have vast knowledge on bikes but Amazon came in handy for that. After ordering my bike, I yelped around looking for a shop that could assemble my bike for a reasonable price. I finally located Fresh Bikes and was pleased to know it was a mobile business because I didn't want to hassle my friends with driving me to a shop. I set up the appointment with Jon and he was super nice courteous on the phone. I had set the appointment for Wednesday at 6 but for some reason, I thought I had set it to Tuesday instead. I called him thinking that it was supposed to be Tuesday and he was very willing to change my appointment with him so last minute! Jon was so much fun to work with and it was a learning process for me because while he was assembling, he would explain to me the little quirks about my bike. He is so easy to talk to and you can literally talk to him about anything -- he's so intellectual, kind-hearted and genuine. Jon and his business truly deserve all the credit they get and definitely work for all these 5 stars. Cheers to another 5 stars! As long as I live in Orange County, I will always use Fresh Bikes for all my bike mechanical needs and bike advice. I highly* recommend him and will spread the word to all my biking friends. Very small and pretty affordable. I went here after having bad experiences with the Bike Religion shop on UCI's campus. The guys that run this place are very friendly and very helpful. They didn't have the part I needed but helped me identify the exact part specs so I could find it elsewhere. For any tune ups or maintenance needed their service charges are pretty cheap. Probably because they operate out of a garage, but still it's all very professional. If you don't want to spend money on getting your own tools and such just go here. read more

Hands down one of the best customer service experiences I have ever had. Jon and Johnny are the consummate professionals - knowledgeable, friendly, and just plain nice. I have had not-so-great experiences at another local bike shop, Bike Religion, and working with Fresh Bikes was the exact opposite. They even picked up my bike and then dropped it back off at my house! Prices are reasonable, and they were able to find parts for my very old bike that Bike Religion wasn't able to. I cannot recommend Fresh Bikes highly enough. I will never use another bike repair again. read more

I was very disappointed with the treatment I received from Fresh Bikes. I was down visiting my mom, and wanted to get my tricycle back into working order. After reading how wonderful, and ethical, and professional Jon was, I decided to give Fresh Bikes a call. I contacted Jon to see if they worked on adult tricycles. He said they did. The morning of our appointment, he sent me an email. "Something large" had come come up in the shop, and he had to cancel.Things do happen, so I replied that I hoped everything worked out. He didn't contact me to reschedule, so I sent him an email to see if we could reschedule that week. No response. Finally had to call. Rescheduled for that Wednesday at 10. He didn't show up at 10:00 on Wednesday. Then I saw the email sent at 9:48, saying he'd *just discovered* that they didn't have a Huntington Beach Business license. They also didn't have one for Laguna, as they didn't do enough business in either place to justify the expense. If any of that was true, they should have taken both cities off their website. If he simply didn't want to work on a tricycle, he should have just said so. If he'd just said no, I could have made plans to get my my trike fixed sooner than the day before I was supposed to go home. My advice would be to avoid Fresh Bikes, unless you have a fancy $5000 bicycle. read more

All I can say is 'wow'! Fresh bikes got my highest respect and admiration for the services and quality they provide at some of the most competitive prices. I used them for the first time... used to service our bikes at Performance Bike, but they've been gone for couple of years now. Was looking for a good shop to service our bikes and seem like almost by chance found Fresh Bikes company and excellent reviews about their service. We just serviced our bikes yesterday... and to say that I'm impressed is to say nothing! Terry was working on our bikes and he went above and beyond of our expectations. All 3 bikes were serviced on the same day. Terry picked up and fixed not only typical bike pain points, but even issues like reversed tire or a loose bolt on a fender that was making noise. His attention to detail was amazing! I went for a ride this morning... and I couldn't believe how quiet and smooth my bike was. Flowless shifting and braking, no chain noise when pedaling etc. etc. etc. I don't think my bike was riding like that when it was brand new! I'm blown away... Fresh Bikes are super busy even at this relatively quiet time of the year (when demand for bike services usually goes down). Even if you have to wait a bit to get service - it's absolutely worth it! These guys truly love what they do - that's why they're so good at it. Best bike shop I've ever dealt with! read more

Fresh Bikes was born in 1992 when our riding buddies couldn't get their bikes fixed right. They came back from the big shops dirty, squeaky and just less than properly repaired. So we set about reinventing the bicycle service process and experience. Now we have grown to serve Newport Beach, Irvine, and Costa Mesa. Meet the Business Owner: Jon C.

Jon got his start as a professional mechanic in 1971 and has built, repaired and tuned just about every brand, model and type of bike built since then. He has tuned and built bikes for national and world champions. But he is just as thrilled to take the training wheels off a 5-year-old’s bike for the first. Jon has also ridden seriously since even before 1971, racking up nearly a quarter million miles. Every bike is repaired to his exacting standard, “as if I am going to ride the bike tomorrow.”

Rather than briefly answering or directing us to someone who could help, he responded, "I'm busy with another customer right now," without making eye contact. We almost gave up and bought a new ebike. This went on for over a month. I walked in to ask if he could get some parts and he did a quick assessment on the damage. Dennis fixed the wheel, put all new bearings and lubrication, fabricated a solid axle(not hollow, which was OEM), changed both tires and tubes, and added the Tannis Armour tire liner to the tires. He did this all in front of me as a walk-in while we chatted. Took him like 20 minutes for it all. My son is back in business and you couldn't have seen a happier 13 year old. Such a fair price for it all. Dennis will have a large family, with a ton of bikes, as his customers forever.

I was charged significantly more than quoted, with no clear explanation and no effort to get approval before tacking on extra costs. Even worse, the work they said would be done simply wasn't. The bike runs like dogshat. This shop seems far more interested in squeezing customers than standing behind their work. If you value transparency, fair pricing, or actually getting what you pay for, take your bike--and your money--elsewhere. Fail.

We had a plumber out for our regular tankless water heater flush. That was fine…read more I had the plumber check out an issue with my upstairs toilet and his first recommendation? A $1300 new toilet installation. His cheapest? We buy a new toilet and he installs it for $400. I did a little poking around and fixed the issue for a $11 flush tank ring. I posted a comment on JIT's webpage and no one bothered to reach out. I wonder how many people that plumber has scammed out of significant money. Add another - as he was leaving, he remarked that we didn't have a pressure regulator on our incoming water line - I told him we did have one but we had it removed - and then he started low-key arguing with me saying he didn't see any evidence one ever existed. I remember when Justin had a small business and he was awesome. Be wary now, their plumber appear to have a reason to upsell as much as they can. Not the kind of plumber I want to deal with.

Jeremiah's communication heading into the move was excellent and Mike and his team arrived right in the window they said they would. As soon as I gave them the rundown of the place, they wasted ZERO time and got straight to work - all the way until the last item was carried into the new place. Heading into this move, I was worried about taking apart our bed frames and putting them back together. Mission Movers took care of it at no extra cost. But the biggest thing for me is how friendly and HONEST the team was. One of my dining chairs was already cracked before the move and they approached me and apologized for thinking they did it. That small gesture went a long way for me and I know they were going to find a solution even if it was their fault. They also could've charged me for a full 4 hours but charged me to the exact minute they worked at 3.75 hours. Not to mention it was also a really hot day and they powered through it without a single complaint. My wife and I have said several times that we don't know how we would've done it without Mission Movers. I know exactly who I'm hiring for any of my future moves. 10/10 experience! PS: don't forget to tip your movers!!! These guys weren't expecting it and they were so grateful - it only made me wish I had more to give.

Price is sooooo fair when you consider the quality of the service and the professionalism of today's crew of 9. Showed up at 9.23am (on a 9.30 appointment) Took down our 5000sqft house, relocated the whole enchilada 4 miles down the street in 9 hours. Even if you're not thinking of moving, you should now that you've read all the 5 stars reviews. These guys are PROS.

There was no way I was getting the insert out with the Home Depot tool. After watching how hard it was to remove the insert with the proper tool, I knew at that time making the call to DeVinney plumbing was definitely the right call. Both guys were very knowledgeable and very polite. Excellent job, and will be calling them on all my other DIY failures.

A number of damp areas under the house from cast iron that was leaking. Don recommended repiping: Drain and water. Plumbing Crew(s) led by Rafael were great and VERY respectful of our home. They showed up on time as committed. Work areas were sealed and covered. Everything was very professional. Patch Crew showed up the day after completion of the plumbing and also did a great job. Highly recommend DeVinney Plumbing!
