We came in a few days ago and honestly was not impressed. This was our first time here and I won't be back. Nothing was impressive. Service was the slowest ever which surprised me because they're was only a few tables in there. We were there for an hour and half I'm surprised grilled fish dinners took that long especially since we came 2 hrs before close. Took awhile to be greeted and get drinks. Hush puppies were great. But everything else was mediocre. Mashed potatoes were cold. The veggies were the most bland and sad veggies I've eaten. The grouper had spots that weren't fully cooked. And to pay 32 for grouper is way overpriced. Portions were small for the prices. We asked if we could have a fish with nothing on it and was told they couldn't do it. Which makes absolutely no sense. The server was slow and acted like she hated her job and everything was an inconvenience. As we were leaving, I overheard the server talking to a table about a child's Mac n cheese, and telling them that it's a big portion and if they wanted the server could order herself a Mac n cheese and give the table a scoop of hers to the child. My wife and I decided to try this place because they advertise "fresh" seafood. Well, we never got a chance to try the food. Why? When we entered we stood by a chalkboard menu, as there was no obvious hostess stand. A young lady was leaning on a counter by a stack of menus about 10 feet away. She never greeted us. After a couple minutes she held two fingers up in the air in our direction. We walked toward her, she picked up two menus, still not greeting us in any verbal manner. She started walking away so we followed her. She took us into an extremely noisy bar and placed the menus on a table top that was within arms length of loud, obnoxious males drinking at the bar. There was no way that we were going to sit down for dinner in such an atmosphere. When I say noisy, you literally could not carry on a conversation. The hostess seemed irritated that we did not want to sit there. She then took us to a room outside the bar area that was not as noisy, but still a lot of noise from the bar. The room was drab, downright ugly decor. We asked for a booth. The hostess said that we would have to wait until it was cleaned off. She left us standing there for at least 10 minutes. She finally came back ane wiped the table off. We sat down and watched the waitresses pass us by at least 5 times, never acknowledging us. Finally we got up and left. On the way out I advised the hostess that we were leaving because no one acknowledged us. She said that it was a busy room (there were at least six empty tables). She never apologized and exuded a care less attitude. Will never go back and will never recommend this place. No excuse for service like this. read more

The chicken was suppose to be blackened it wasn't it literally tasted like you were trying to chew wood. Bacon cheeseburger came with no bacon and wrong cheese. soup for app was never brought. However good our meal was it was ruined by the flies buzzing around and our constant swatting at them. We ate inside and our visit started off on a bad note when we walked in and there was no hostess at the counter. We sat down to wait for her and when the older hostess finally returned, she looked at us and ignored us. We got her attention and she asked if we wanted a table. St Lucie Falls Ladies Who Lunch Bunch had our monthly luncheon at Fresh Catch today. So glad we did, it was so fun! And delicious! We were approximately twenty five senior ladies at three tables. We were allowed to each have our own separate checks (yikes)--seems like a nightmare for the servers, but they were totally cool with it. Friendly and efficient Sonya was my table's server. This woman was definitely experienced. She fulfilled all requests that I could see (I was at the head of the table). Extra sauce, more coffee creamers, iced water, dressing on the side, etc.) There were a couple of discrepancies on the checks, which she quickly & cheerfully corrected. I saw her offer a senior-senior to box up the leftovers for her. We all know, the server can make or break your restaurant experience. So a big thank you to you Sonya. I am sorry to say I did not learn the name of the other server of the other half of the room, but I was told by some of my friends that she was just as good. Now, the food: I had the ceviche---FRESH FRESH FRESH! I indulged and also had the shrimp cocktail with the wonderful horseradishy sauce! Those around me had an array of dishes, all looked very generous in portion and items such as cold slaw looked very crisp and fresh. Many took home leftovers in boxes provided. Free, plentiful parking, easy handicap entrance and clean bathrooms. I also saw a large bar. Please Note: in a large group, an 18% gratuity will be automatically included on your check. Also, the Fresh Catch coupon is only good ONE per table and only if the check is $25 or more. The coupon in the Stuart News DOES clearly state this. End: GO! Especially if you like fresh seafood. Visited Fresh Catch last Friday for the third time since the name change from Tin Fish. Everyone in our party of five enjoyed their meals. I had the blackened tilapia burrito and it was excellent. My family had everything from the fish taco to Mahi Burrito, Calimari Burrito and Conch Fritters. Everything was very good except the chips and salsa. The chips really didn't cut it for me. The service was excellent and the entertainment on the outdoor patio was ...entertaining! Will be back. read more

After a miserable first-time experience at this local eatery, I took the time to alert the owners. I presented our complaints (which were many) and received a reply merely defending their restaurant. Facts: The air-conditioning was broken the night we visited - but they neglected to tell us. They sat us outside ON THE STREET with traffic whizzing by and exhaust fumes wafting in... The waiter was inattentive; never filled our empty water glasses. The conch salad was old, stale and bland. The fish sandwich (Mahi) was mediocre and VERY overpriced; served with virtually nothing. Since we are new to the area we wrote to them only to find indifference. Not even an offer of a free drink to come try them again. They have no idea how to run a hospitality business and I would avoid the Fresh Catch at all costs. Too many good and NICE restaurateurs in the Stuart area - don't waste your time! read more

Enjoyed a fantastic date day lunch with my wife. Our server, Michael, was outstanding! We were first timers and got the royal treatment. I ordered the Mahi Wrap and my wife had the Crabcake. They should change the name back to Tin Fish because nothing I ate tonight tasted like a fresh catch at all. The restaurant has nice decor and is very clean. The service was great but that's about it. I had a blackened scallop taco and fried fish taco with a cup of shrimp and corn chowder. My husband had fish and chips and chowder. We also ordered onion rings. Everything tasted frozen. Not fresh at all. The soup was decent compared to everything else. Also, the tacos had lettuce, cheese and salsa on them. The hot seafood wilted the lettuce. They should use cabbage instead as fish tacos are typically made with. Maybe we ordered wrong - maybe the grilled fish is better but I would not come back. It was $40 for both. I could have gotten a bag of frozen gortons fish at publix for a quarter of the price and it prob would have been more satisfying. read more

Really enjoyed our first visit there. Shrimp cocktail and fresh oyster were great. Ahi tuna salad was beautiful and my husband really enjoyed it. Two of us had the grilled scallops they were excellent. Catch of the day was flounder and it was well received. Only tiny complaint, music was a little too loud. read more

Had dinner and drinks with friends there last night. The food was okay. The service was horrible. The wait staff was confused and disorganized. If you want a drink, be prepared to get up and go get it from the bar on your own. Ok new place and for the price of for the most part fresh seafood and for the generous portions it makes a great value. Now I have a few suggestions to add though. Crab cakes I'm used to remoulade or tar tar, please make it available. Coach cashier to explain its self service and where utensils and such are. Also the burrito I had was great ordered the mahi still had some bones in it though so double check the employees because even if I don't mind there are plenty that will. Also the burrito needs something, like zippy maybe a chipotle sauce or just some sort of hot peppers and also a citrusy flavor like lime in it. It's good just expected those two things. We've been here twice now and really enjoy the food and atmosphere. If your looking to eat salmon, tilapia, or some other boring staple...go to Publix. If you'd like a nice evening out with your spouse and a good piece of locally caught fish, you can't beat it. We had Cobia tonight, blackened. Nice size piece, firm, cooked very nicely. Veggies are veggies. I've had lesser pieces of fish 3x the price at some very fine restaurants during my business travels. This place is a mess. I really have to feel bad for the waiters. They look like they get yelled at about how god awful the place is all day. Every time I come here, they get my order wrong. Even on the one time they got my order right, it still tasted terrible. The only benefit this restaurant provides is that it makes other terrible restaurants look way better. The plusses they give a generous pour on the wine. Our server was nice. But we waited a very long time. We did get some soup to try because the wait was so long. For 4 people it was about 100.00. It was no where near worth the price. I did not think the fish burrito would be cold inside. That seemed odd. Especially since there server said they are known for there burritos. This was one of my favorite places. But last dinner missed the mark. Mostly cause the staff. From the over the top bartender. The unorganized hostess and the horrible waiter. We were coming from out of town and wanted to have a family meal that included an elderly handicapped person. I called three other restaurants and this was the only one that would give us a reservation due to Covid! I am so glad we choose Fresh Catch! They were able to accommodate our large party on a Saturday. Everyone enjoyed their meals. I had the catch of the day which was grouper over a grilled romaine salad. It was delicious!! Our large party kept our wonderful waitress, Sonya, busy but she was amazing and never dropped her smile whether she was bringing bar drinks, appetizers, refilling teas or serving our main courses. I spoke with everyone afterwards and everyone had high praise for their meals. We all felt as if the price was very reasonable. Since this went so easily, I hope we all get to meet together at Fresh Catch ever three months or so for a family dinner. Well, sorry to say Fresh Catch struck out 3 times Friday night. Friends and I had their Fish and Chips last year and craved the crispy fish and chips. Also wanted one of their Bloody Mary's. Definately a difference from last tear. The Bloody Mary was so horribly spicy it caused one of us to run to the ladies room. The server Katie was great, she apologized and brought us a Mohito which was also horrible. To make the whole experience doubly bad, the fish was soggy as hell! No crispy taste at all.
