Came here for breakfast on a Sat. It was quiet, no crowd, and we were seated right away. I really love having just a simple breakfast and this place delivered. Simple menu with typical breakfast choices. Eggs were poached perfectly. Bacon was just the right amount of crispy. Husband's omelet was filled with fresh veggies and cooked perfectly. Everything arrived quickly and served at the appropriate temperature. Coffee was fresh. Our server was professional. Prices were reasonable for breakfast. I usually come here for lunch or dinner but I think this'll be my new favorite breakfast place too. read more

We were excited to try this place. We saw another location had high marks and thought , "okay, this should be good!" Well it was OK The spinach dip appetizer was not bad a little on the salty side, but very rich lots of spinach. Our server was good tentative. Our meals were OK, nothing to exciting. I expected so much more from a fresh kitchen. We got the apple cobbler dessert and Again it did not meet our expectations. Very disappointing. Friendly neighborhood restaurant. Staff is friendly enough. I thought the menu had too many options for such a small spot. A restaurant of that size can't do everything right and they didn't. I went out with friends, one opted for some sort of chicken teriyaki with rice, but when it came out it looked more like soup, hardly any rice. Another friend opted for the salmon. She seemed to like as it was cooked to her liking. I opted for a chicken wrap with bacon, no bacon came. It also came with fries, but they were so greasy that I had to ask them to send out another order. When the second order came out, they were just as greasy. The food was fabulous! The portions were large, and everything was delicious. And...to top it all off, the service was outstanding. Everyone worked as a team to make sure all of the guests received anything they needed and glasses were topped off regularly. This place is right down the street. We don't come often because have had mixed experiences. Tonight's Taco Tuesday would be better called terrible taco Tuesday. Ordered margarita special and it was full of sugar and juice and little alcohol. Ordered quac for appetizer. Perhaps the worst guacamole I have had. After mixing up taco order they delivered several very weak tacos. Some weird cheese concoction on top of beef tacos. Fish on fish taco was literally cold..( not that the meat on beef or chicken was actually hot. Big miss!!! Disappointing as it's so simple to come here. Won't be back. While the other person said their Chicken sandwich was good and the Brussel Sprouts were fine, my Chicken Marsala was bland with almost no taste. It had an extremely runny sauce when all the other Chicken Marsalas that I've eaten have had a nice thick and very tasty sauce. They were also on potatoes or something else. This was in Angel Hair pasta which I don't think should be used for anything in a restaurant. It's just too thin. And I tried every piece of the dinner separately and couldn't find any taste at all other than a regrettable bite of garlic bread. My fault for not ordering plain toast. Everyone was friendly and working hard. I have no issues with the staff. This meal seems like a hospital meal for someone that is allergic to taste. I highly recommend that they find another recipe asap. The stars are just for my meal. read more

There are several locations of this casual chain around the greater Charlotte area. We were very pleased when this location opened near our home. My wife and I went in for lunch and were greeted by a plentiful staff, all of which were very attentive. We are huge fans of their kale salad and their smoked salmon appetizer. The smoked salmon appetizer is perfectly cooked to a medium temperature and it is served with a creamy spread. The salads are chopped, have a house made dressing and are great topped with a protein of your choice. My wife ordered salmon on top of her kale salad while I ordered the blackened chicken. Both were cooked perfectly and the portion was large enough for us to make two meals out each salad. I have enjoyed their hamburgers at other locations which are also very good. read more

Came on a whim, not knowing what Fresh Chef was, but I was in the area and decided to stop. Their hostess was outside greeting in the patio area, and I was seated immediately. I had the grilled romaine lettuce salad with a chicken breast, and it was amazing! Great flavor and texture on the salad, and the chicken was very moist and flavorful. The service was excellent and very attentive from the front of the house to the back of the house. Would love to try this place on the weekend for breakfast. read more

Cutest quaintest hidden gem in Huntersville. Today my friend and I popped in here for lunch on a whim. We were entered through the patio area which is extremely spacious. The hostess was friendly and welcomed us in. Our waitress was Kendall and she was amazing. The menu is ongoing so I was overwhelmed with choices so I had Kendall make some suggestions. I ordered fish tacos for me and my friend and $5 mimosas! I had a side of. Geese grits while my friend had fries. Tbe inside is cute without being too casual or too fancy. The Saturday crowd of people were friendly. The tacos taste fresh and the sauce that they use is so delicious! Talking about a party in your mouth. The manager came around and asked about the meal. Kim explained the hours and told us more about the restaurant. I am definitely going to be a repeat customer! We stopped in for lunch today and both had the Monday special-meatloaf and mashed potatoes. I told my husband that if I could make meatloaf like that, we would have it more often! It's not your mother's meatloaf! Very tender with a smooth, savory gravy-delicious!!! Served with perfectly creamed mashed potatoes! Even the salad was fresh with some crunch, just delightful! Service is good but food is inconsistent at best. My most recent experience was a Gumbo order which was served with Cilantro rice and no soup in the gumbo--just pieces of chicken, shrimp and sausage on the cilantro rice. It was disgusting to even look at much less attempt to eat. Not sure what is happening but the kitchen needs training and/or supervision. Had a similar experience the last time I went on another dish but this will be our last attempt. Can't recall what I ordered then but similar issues. read more

I was really happy to hear that Fresh Chef was opening in Huntersville. we go Cornelius location but this location is closer. Honestly if I can avoid 77 and get the same quality food, I will come here every time. I was very happy that the food quality is the same as the Cornelius location. We have been here a few times and will continue to come back. The food here is really good. Salads are amazing, burgers, Mahi Sandwich all are things that we have tried here and enjoyed. Service is on par with the other locations. I do really enjoy eating here. please support the new location. read more

We order from fresh chef to go and the quality was unacceptable to say the least. Blackened chicken was far from blackened, a side of asparagus came with only 5 stalks, our mashed potatoes were forgotten and overall portion size was a fraction of what would be expected at the price. read more

Hi. I was there at the Huntersville location this afternoon, and love Fresh chef but today was not good, service and food, my pork chop was raw. there was no manager in there. I have eat at the Morresville location and at the Denver location I was happy that they add a new location at Huntersville, and I go there all the time but today was bad, and it is sad that owners pay Manager great money and don't even come to talk to the customer specifically if it is a new place. read more

Second time eating at the Huntersville location. Food was delicious and the service was excellent. The restaurant is noticeably clean and the wait staff is very attentive. My only complaint is in regards to a short grey haired woman who has been at front of the restaurant twice now as we entered. Both times she hasn't been very friendly nor pleasant as she held the door when we arrived. Other than that we enjoy dining at this location. read more

We have been going to Fresh Chef in Cornelius for years now and always have had a great experience. This new location opened in Huntersville near Davidson on Sam Fire Road recently and my husband and I were excited. We order take out at least twice a week. The second week they opened I ordered take out early on a Friday evening. I should have checked my order before I left the restaurant, but honestly I have never had my order wrong with the Cornelius location. When I got home, I was missing one of my appetizers. I called the Manager and he offered to comp my order. I didn't like that but I did not want to go back to the restaurant again to pick up my missing item. The next week we had family over and ordered another to go order. Before I left the restaurant, I checked my order and I had one missing item again. They quickly replaced it and I left. Again, I thought this was due to a new restaurant opening and new staff. A couple of weeks later on Friday around 4:30 pm, I placed another pick up item which I verified twice with the lady on the phone. When I got there, I reviewed my order again and they had one item incorrect. I waited 10 minutes for the Manager to correct my order. On the way out, I stopped to make sure all other items were correct. I was also missing a side so I went back inside. The Manager apologized and then I waited another 5 minutes for a side kale salad. I do not want restaurants to fail and I really hate writing negative reviews. However, I think if we do not voice our experiences nothing will change. Please try to do better. I may be the only person writing a bad review but I am sure I am not the only person experiencing bad service. You have an awesome reputation as Fresh Chef in our community and I hate for this location to harm your overall reputation. read more
