Came here for dinner with my family and exceeded my expectations. This family friendly restaurant had a great ambiance with a song trivia and good service! The restrooms were clean and well kept. The food was very good, with a wide variety of options. As well as the drinks, with lots of featured wines and cocktails. Definitely recommend if you are looking for good food and drinks. The only issue I had was that a man was constantly worrying about people not joining his music trivia, otherwise I had no complaints! read more

I recently visited Torrence and Knox in Cornelius and came away with mixed--but mostly positive--feelings. The restaurant itself is beautiful, with a great atmosphere and a welcoming vibe that makes it an enjoyable place to spend an evening. The location is convenient, and the space feels fresh, modern, and inviting. The service was also a highlight of the experience. Our server was friendly, attentive, and helped make the meal enjoyable from start to finish. The restaurant is known for its casual yet upscale ambiance, which definitely came through during our visit.  Where the experience fell a bit short for me was the food. Everything was prepared well and perfectly edible, but nothing really stood out or felt especially memorable. It wasn't bad by any means--just not quite at the same level as the atmosphere and service. I went for the lobster tail ravioli, and it was just a bit too chewy for my taste. I was hoping for a dish that would make me eager to come back, but that didn't happen on this visit. I could, however, come back. I would give it a second chance and would like to try drinks from the bar.  Overall, Torrence and Knox is a great spot for the ambiance, service, and overall dining experience. If you're looking for a comfortable place to meet friends, enjoy drinks, or have a relaxed night out, it's definitely worth a visit. I'd return for the atmosphere alone and would be interested to try more of the menu in the future. read more

We had to ask for a waiter to come . Service very very slow. Food: average at best. Chicken Parmesan: average. Wasn't even hot. Waitress never asked about dessert. Very very loud. There are a lot better restaurants in the area. Not sure this place is going to make it. read more

This place is new. We came here for lunch. Food was solid but nothing stood out. The sweet potato fries could afford to be crispier. Mr S ordered the prime rib sandwich but it got served to another table by accident and it was the last one. He was brought the New York style Philly cheesesteak instead. Our bill also had the prime rib on it so we had to track down our server to resolve the difference in price. Accidents happen, I just think there could have been better resolution. read more

If I could leave zero stars I would, which is so disappointing because I've been wanting to try this place since we moved to the area. Service was non existent, we watched as two servers waited on the table directly next to us and waited 10 minutes before having to flag someone down to even be addressed. No apologies for the wait. Ordered two drinks and spinach and artichoke dip. Food came first. Waited another five minutes before having to ask about the drinks to, yet again, another random member of the staff because our server never came back. Seemed like the drinks hadn't even been put in yet. Artichoke dip had essentially no cheese, wasn't bad but didn't really taste like anything the bread it was served with was nice. Drink did taste good when it finally came. Outdoor area is nice for families and the inside was really pretty. Just hate that it seemed like we weren't worth their time. Asked for the tab when the drinks were finally brought out, still no apologies or questions asked. Took our business elsewhere for dinner and won't be coming back. read more

We are excited to have a new place in the neighborhood (so gave it an extra star) and will give it another try since some of the cons could be resolved after a few more months in business. Pro - great location, good menu - focused and not trying to do too much - slider appetizers are a great idea and well executed. Good burgers with very fresh tomatoes and lettuce. Con - service is not what it should be. At all. If we have to track down a server to take the order and to give us the check, that is a problem but one that can improve over time. Noise is a big factor. Fries - sweet potato and regular potato are limp and soggy. Hope to update to five stars after another visit once they settle in a bit. read more

A great new addition in Cornelius with a fun neighborhood vibe. Both indoor and outdoor seating and good for families. We have had multiple items on the menu since they opened and all have been great including their specials. The wait staff has been very attentive and friendly. This has quickly become one of my favorite places. Not only is the wait staff amazing but that Bavarian pretzel is to die for. The drinks are top notch and not overly expensive, a the menu gives me that taste of Bay Ridge Brooklyn, IYKYK. And of there is anything to be said for the ambiance, it's like your old school restaurant from home. Plus come for the food and people and stay for the games! read more

My wife and I went to this former Greek Restaurant "Cook House " to check out this new restaurant. It looks good but upon entering it's a large warehouse bar and dining area off to the left side. Very bleak and austere with nothing but blank walls. Service was good prices way over the top. My wife hade the burger $16 and I hade the N.Y. Philly cheese steak sandwich $18 what a rip!! Only 6 in sub that was dry meat with some peppers & onions and one slice of cheese. My total bill with two beers was an unreasonable $ 54 If he and his wife came to restaurant they too would not be happy in this restaurant. They need to go back to NYC with their idea of high end restaurant!! There are much better options right in their own strip mall. I would not recommend this place to anyone. The atmosphere is very nice with a nice outdoor area with cornhole, etc. Live music on weekends. Big long bar. Private room for big parties. Food is very very good. We've eaten there many many times and most recently I had the salmon and the portion was unbelievable. My husband had the chicken Parm and he ate all of it. Lol. read more

Staff was very friendly. I think we may have been waited on by one of the owners. I went for lunch with some friends. The food was very good but I left a bit disappointed. My friend asked for sweet potatoes fries and instead of regular fries. She was charged $2.50 extra without being told in advance. She was also charged $5.00 for an ice tea! The burgers were good and our server seemed inexperienced. If you want an example of great service, 131 Main does an amazing job. Cavernous barn with every sound echoing off the high ceilings and bare floors. Food was a huge disappointment, tasteless and lukewarm. Salmon was fair but overpriced. Wife had chicken piccatta. The chicken had to be cut with a knife It was so tough. Salmon was standard size cut but no flavoring, just some "not good" sauce for it. Prices are par with those at 131 Main, yet food is half as good at best. Very noisy. read more

My family had a post-funeral reception at Torrence and Knox. 70 guests and the owners, Danielle and Andrew, as well as the staff were wonderful. Food was wonderful and warm. Non alcoholic beverages were refilled frequently and great service for adults at the bar. Kids enjoyed the outside area and plenty of tables to talk inside. Highly recommended restaurant.
