I've been wanting to try Fresh Food Deli for a couple months now, since I saw the "Coming Soon!" sign. Fresh Food Deli has been in Medina for at least the last 15 years or so, and they've decided to expand to the Green/Akron/New Franklin/Portage Lakes area! They have a private parking lot with enough room to back out and turn around without having to go onto Caston or Main in reverse. Their entrance door is off the right (when facing the restaurant), and it's fairly nondescript. You may think it's an employee entrance, but it is not! It's for you! This location appears to be primarily for takeaway and catering. It's clean and quaint and reminds me of one of the small places you find in Europe. The owner Yannis is very friendly and helpful! He is originally from Athens and his food reflects the quality that you come to expect from authentic Greek and European food! I decided to order the Gyro Wrap w/ Side (from the Board Specials). When they named this restaurant "Fresh Food Deli", they were telling the truth! It's absolutely fresh and delicious! The salad was crisp and filled with toppings. The gyro was warm and fresh with delicious pita. I love their tzatziki sauce. And everything is homemade, prepared fresh when you order. Fresh Food Deli in Green/Akron/New Franklin/Portage Lakes area is a hidden gem and I will absolutely be coming back here regularly! Opa!

I had a wonderful experience from start to finish. Placed my order ahead of time, longer wait due to how BUSY they were today cause of St. Patty's Day. Didn't mind. Showed up at my time and was greated with food ready to go for me. Grabbed 2 pieces of baklava I forgot to post too. Got the Rueben with thousand island and a (small) greek salad. Got home and it was all still so fresh, so full of flavor it was unreal. Ate the entire salad in 15 minutes. The sandwich is GIANT and well worth the price. Came with a pickle. The baklava was so rich and sweet and the perfect ending to this amazing lunch. I already have so many things I wanna go back to try! 10/10 recommend going here, don't wait anymore! (CALL AHEAD YOUR ORDER!!)

I was happy to see a number of customers entering and exiting the restaurant as I parked the rental and was equally happy to see there was no wait, the small entrance was filled with customers waiting for take out so I was seated immediately without a wait. The interior of the restaurant was very clean and the open kitchen showed the food preparation areas were clean and clutter free which is always encouraging. My hostess, server and menu advisor Kathryn was extremely friendly, professional and enthusiastic, she seemed to be the only server on duty but provided exceptional service to all the customer in the dining area. The extensive menu is somewhat confusing if you're not familiar with all the names of the classic Greek dishes, it's not the type of food I each regularly eat so I asked for recommendations although I knew I wanted lots of the typical gyro meat and I noticed the pitas were homemade so I definitely wanted that and the salad and dressing that comes stuffed inside as well, my selection included a second meat so I chose the chicken souvlaki thinking it would be skewered on the side but it's actually stuffed in the pita as well taking up the space that would be normally fill with the gyro meat which was disappointing. I liked a lot of things here, especially the fact that I didn't have an encounter with the manager mentioned often in the other reviews, I would of liked more of the delicious gyro meat but now I understand how to make that happen when I visit again - I enjoyed a Coca-Cola product but did notice they have alcohol which surprised me since the layout here reminds me of a fast food restaurant. The service here is probably the highlight of the visit although the food was tasty it goes to show customers service is still King...

I would say that they use probably too much tzatziki sauce but it was delicious but very messy. Not gonna complain that I needed a fork to eat it. For $20 getting this is an absolute steal.

Its so beat up and dirty I was like "WHAT am I getting myself into?" Walking in the space, it was better, but still had a very dive-y look to it. I figured this meant things would either be great or horrible. Glad to see it was the first! I ordered a (small!) Chicken gyro with onion rings. This thing was absolutely massive, to the point where I did not finish, and I was hungry! The sandwich was loaded with ingredients, and very delicious. The onion rings were good, but they needed salt or some kind of sauce and neither were available or given. Service was fast, but I overheard a guy say he saw a worker microwaving some ingredients so I dont know how I feel about that. Anyway, strange place but great grub, ignore the back entrance!

I really wanted the spinach feta pie, but they were out, so I got the tuna pita instead, which was wonderful. I was there with a party of five (including my child) and everyone was really happy with their meals. The service was fantastic and friendly. My parents were a little late arriving, so my son enjoyed playing in the little toy kitchen set-up they had in the corner. (He found dinosaurs in one of the containers, so he was in his element.) What a great distraction for the kiddos, along with coloring books and crayons. We all had dessert too and while I didn't get to try the baklava, I think among all of the others the limoncello was my favorite. Very cool ambiance. As for the decor, it is cluttered and quirky and very Greek. Loved every corner. Even some historic politicians were enjoying the food and the ambiance. Opa!

The flaming cheese was an "Opa" inducing spectacle for the whole restaurant to marvel. And it tasted great! As did the Athens fries (it's amazing what a little vinaigrette and feta can do)! The gyro also did not disappoint. My wife ordered a Turkey melt, which she thought was okay. I think the lesson is to order Mediterranean from a Mediterranean restaurant, and you won't be disappointed.

Thanks to their Tuesday special where chicken pitas were 2 dollars off, I got a chicken pita with light tzaziki and a side order of fries for $13.08. Pretty good price there (even though I am trying to spend less of food... whoops!). I also want to mention how NICE the staff was! They were patient with me, said thank you and have a good day a few times, and packaged up my to go order very nicely! My walk in carryout order was ready about 3 minutes after I made it too! The fries are basic but good. Very hot! Could have used some seasoning though. I added some of my own before chowing down when I got back to the office. The chicken gyro was also good - the cut veggies were fresh, the chicken was tender, and the tzaziki was light, per my request. I am glad it was $2 off as I think the normal price of $9.29 just for the sandwich is too high. Overall, I am glad I chose to go here but stick to ordering off the lunch specials. The regular prices are too much. This small space was very busy with families so I am not worried about them staying in business haha! 4.25 stars.

A nice patio outside if weather permits. But typically just sit at one of the booths
