I had a hankering for some greek food so after doing some research on highly recommended Greek food near my work, I settled on the Uniontown location of the mini chain, Papa Gyros. Thanks to their Tuesday special where chicken pitas were 2 dollars off, I got a chicken pita with light tzaziki and a side order of fries for $13.08. Pretty good price there (even though I am trying to spend less of food... whoops!). I also want to mention how NICE the staff was! They were patient with me, said thank you and have a good day a few times, and packaged up my to go order very nicely! My walk in carryout order was ready about 3 minutes after I made it too! The fries are basic but good. Very hot! Could have used some seasoning though. I added some of my own before chowing down when I got back to the office. The chicken gyro was also good - the cut veggies were fresh, the chicken was tender, and the tzaziki was light, per my request. I am glad it was $2 off as I think the normal price of $9.29 just for the sandwich is too high. Overall, I am glad I chose to go here but stick to ordering off the lunch specials. The regular prices are too much. This small space was very busy with families so I am not worried about them staying in business haha! 4.25 stars. read more

I come here at least once or twice a month. I always get a Cajun gyro so I can't really speak to the true taste of everything on the menu, but what I do get. I enjoy. There always seems to be one waitress for the whole place, who is also doing takeout orders. And one cook. So it can be a little bit of a wait sometimes but it's usually pretty quick, no more than 10-15 minute wait for food when it's busy and sometimes under 10 when it's slow. My lamb souvlakiwas unseasoned...no marinade or salt nothing....i got a blop of ice that was so so...no tomato..onion....i also got half a pita and some lackluster tzatziki. My greek salad however was good. My sons italian burger....with salami and provolone was weak as well. Small burger, they threw salad mix on it as the lettuce too....thats lazy even by my sons standards. Wow- this totally hit the spot tonight!! We ordered two gyro platters, an order of tzatziki and pita bread, a side of fries, a chicken souvlaki skewer, and a side of crumbled feta. Everything was very fresh and completely delicious. My whole family kept exclaiming how tasty everything was! It was ready in under 20 minutes, and all employees were wearing masks when I went in to pick it up. We've ordered from here and dined in before covid, but this was our first post-covid take out experience and it was stellar. We will definitely do this again! read more

Yuck! First and last time I'll ever eat here! Ordered online, showed up and had to wait 30 additional minutes. Staff were wearing masks but they were only covering their mouths, not noses. The server and I think manager were very nice both times I have been here. Unfortunately The quality of food is absolutely terrible. The first time I went to this location I ordered the euro platter. The pita bread was on the bottom, The meet was on top, and the tomatoes and onions were on the side. However, the tomato juice ran down to the bottom of the pita and completely saturated the pita bread. The second time I went to this venue, I ordered the same thing with the tomatoes and onions on the side. However, the meat that was shaved for my platter was very very old and way overcooked. I was in town for 2 weeks and ate at many different restaurants. Papa Gyros was by far my favorite restaurant in town and the service was excellent I had the fried calamari appetizer and the surf n turf with cajun style shrimp which paired perfectly together, I have nothing negative to say about this place they have great food with great prices. We ordered delivery. Delivery was prompt. Down side: no beverages on offer. Our order included a large Caesar salad with falafel and a gyro supreme. The gyro supreme was 5 star delicious, full of meat. The salad... said it was romaine lettuce. I do not appreciate being lied to. The lettuce was iceberg. New Location: 1North Hawkins Akron, 44313. I have been there twice. Rank it a 6.5 on scale of 10. Tzaziki too salty. Gyro really greasy. Meat was kind of spongy. I had it wrapped up. I wa left with a puddle of grease on the plate and table as it dripped out of the wrap. I can imagine how much I ingested. The flaming cheese (saganaki) was good. Brother and sister in law ordered lamb shanks, gave it a 7. Rice was mushy, not the firm converted rice that is used for rice pilaf. Mythos Beer a 10!! I go an appetizer platter-Ok 6.5. Spanakopita and Teropita not crispy and ok tasting.. I was expecting authentic greek food. Steve and Kelly need some quality control. Service was good. Wow! Very, very good gyros! Excellent gyros! Definitely in my top 3. The pita is thinner and tastes fresher than most gyro places. The meat is sliced thin and the platter comes with a lot of it. The sauce is smooth and compliments the gyro meat very well. I'll definitely be back here. The only gyro I found with meat as succulent and cut as thin as here is Munster Gyro in Munster, IN. This is my go to restaurant in the neighborhood. Great for the money, 3 of the best servers ever, and a lot of love from the kitchen. My 5 year old daughter is chemically dependent on their flaming saganaki. "OPA!!" I've been here about 25 times and learned that there is nothing bad on the menu. My favorite is the fish dinner, I think it's just cod, but as a non meat eater, I find it very rewarding to slam. I've tasted the gyro meat and it is very yummy. Ordered the lamb shank last night. Delicious, but I am reminded of why I no longer eat meat. Guess where I'm writing this review from.... Pizza, salad, skewers, gyros, I'm getting hungry just thinking about the place. I have been to Papa Gyro's in Uniontown, OH about 4 or 5 times. I had been holding myself from leaving negative reviews, as people working there may be having rough days some times. However, after experiencing bad attitudes and rude responses multiple times from the waiter (David), I decided to go ahead and post this review, as no customer should tolerate/accept this type of behavior. The first couple times I went there, I had a few questions about the menu. David seemed bothered by my questions, based on the condescending manner and tone that he used to respond. In my last visit (on 5/3/2019), I would wave at him a couple of times to try to get his attention to ask for common things you ask from a waiter, such as a drink refill. Even though he saw me, he pretended like he didn't see me. Because of this, I would call him politely to make sure he noticed that I was calling him. He would respond in a rude manner and aggresive tone, which really made me upset. I can understand when a waiter is busy and can't get to you right away. However, the most reasonable response from a waiter (based on my past experience as one), would be to acknowledge that you noticed the customer's 'call' and indicate that you will be there in a minute, not just ignore the customer, and be upset if the customer calls you. I have gone to this location for 4 or 5 times in about 3 years, as the food is good, and it is conveniently located for me. I do not understand why a restaurant would keep a waiter with this attitude for this long, which makes me think he is either the owner, or a manager. This is probably why he can get away treating customers like this. I wholeheartedly hope David can overcome whatever is bothering him, and that he can learn and understand that customers are not responsible or a scapegoat to 'vent' whatever frustrations he may be experiencing personally. read more

I've been to this location twice now and won't be back. Both times the service has been extremely slow. The last time I ordered to go and came in 30 minutes after placing my order, which they told me would take 20 minutes to get ready. I still had to wait 10 minutes to get my order, had to go back to my car to get my son out of his car seat because it was taking so long. After trying to calm a 20 month old down and pay for my order, I fight to get him back in the car and get home to find out that they didn't put my salad in the bag. I obviously can't go back to get it and don't live close by. I call to tell them they forgot it and they said they would credit my card for it. A week later I called again to inquire about my credit since it hadn't shown up yet and they told me they don't credit cards that they had created an account for me that had a credit on it. The manager was suppose to call back with a solution since I live 8 hours away. They never did and I called back again the following week to inquire again. They again said they would see what they could do and would call me back. It is now 2 weeks later and I still have no resolution to a salad I never received and I won't be back in the area until at least next summer. I'm definitely not coming back and will ensure that my family and friends that live in the area do not visit them again either. Horrible customer service and the food is only mediocre as well. I'll be disputing the whole charge with my credit company now as well. I spent $25 for a lunch that wasn't complete. Awful. read more
