The sides were just as good paired with the fish perfectly. I also had a tasty little side Caesar salad. The house Caesar dressing was great, lightly dressed so it didn't drown the romaine like some places do, and finished with grated parmesan and crunchy croutons. Overall, this was a great meal. Problems I noticed, some of the wait staff is not that friendly also most of the staff serving food without gloves. A young man brought a bowl of food to a customer with his thumb on the rim, gross. This is my major complaint and take away that confirms I won't be back. There are two prices listed on the menu, one if you pay in cash and a higher price if you use a card. That is unacceptable, because some places will state that there will be a percentage up charge , not for every item. The place was somewhat busy when we arrived, but it was a constant flow of traffic, because they also have a seafood market inside to buy your own. I wasn't noisy at all when we went, not sure what it's like later in the evening. Entrées were pricey considering that no salads were included with any of the menu items. Salad off the menu would start you at $13-$14. 4. Atmosphere was uncomfortably disrespectful. While we dined and conversed, staff set up a very long table opposite us. The table was for at least 20 diners. Heavy metal chairs were dragged across the floor and banged into place at the table, and the metallic screeching sound drowned out our conversation for the duration. The man doing the set up was oblivious. 5. Most of the food was "adequate", not great. My pasta was served in a dented little metal pot, not on a nice plate. The " crispy guancialle" featured on the menu trned out to be rubbery little chunks of fatty pork. Parmesan cheese was administered by the wait staff after our request. Can we not be trusted with a cheese dispenser at table? I was totally underwhelmed. The rest of my party felt the same only shortly after service began. La Strega looks like it is trying to be an upscale restaurant ("bistro"?) but it really falls short, in my opinion.
