Amazing seafood. I stopped by before 2026 Bike Week. Service was great, she checked on me a lot. I highly recommend this seafood house.

We were seated straight away. The host was cheerful and polite, she was all smiles. The restaurant was clean and well lit. My associate had a fish sandwich and he said it was well prepared and tasted fine, was just a little "dry". I had the fish and chips, their daily special. The coleslaw was great, their fries where hot and crispy, the fish was so-so. The fish was so thin in was overly crispy and had areas that were hard to chew. The flavor was there, maybe not the best cut for fried fish. The server keep our tea full, which earns her accolades for sure. She was on the ball and most helpful. When I return, I will try a more sophisticated dish...they had some that looked wonderful.

It was a full house, so there was a bit of a wait to get in. The server was good and the food came in good time. The calamari was a bit salty but tasted fresh. The oysters were great and fresh also. It's a little way out from Orlando but give it a try.

While passing through Deland, we decided to stop for lunch and stumbled upon a local gem serving local, fresh seafood. We enjoyed the lunch-sized portions of grilled grouper and a shrimp po-boy, both of which were tasty and generously served. We took home a slice of carrot cake and key lime cake, I couldn't resist a couple of bites before taking a picture. The owner made a point to check on us twice, a rare and appreciated touch. The atmosphere was inviting and laid-back, making our dining experience even more enjoyable.

It's mostly southern fried seafood, but you can get it blackened or broiled. Service was excellent! Great local spot!

What a great find! We visited Macker Seafood on the 4th of July and had a wonderful experience…read more Everything tasted incredibly fresh. The clam chowder was rich, hearty, and loaded with clams and other delicious ingredients. We also took advantage of their happy hour special with $1 raw oysters, which were fresh and delicious. The fried fish and fried shrimp specials were both excellent--lightly battered, perfectly cooked, plump, and juicy. We paired everything with a couple of beers and sweet tea, and it made for a fantastic meal. The service was outstanding. Lauren, our server, was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. Brian and Mama were also so welcoming and accommodating, making us feel right at home. We really enjoyed the laid-back atmosphere, the clean restaurant (including the spotless restroom), and the background music, which was at just the right volume. We'll definitely be back. Highly recommend Macker Seafood if you're looking for fresh seafood, great service, and a relaxed dining experience!

What…read morewe had was very good and service was fine ut a bit quirky; the waitress was very chatty and seemed a bit spaced out at times (when we went in, 3 tables were seated, 3 or 4 empty and nothing on them, but she said it would be a while before they'd be wiped clean). We had chowder, raw oysters, lightly blackened mahi-mahi and peel/eat shrimp. No complaints with any. Peel/eat shrimp came with potatoes and corn, too-- nice surprise. Mahi-mahi came with tasty fries. Just a simple little place with basic menu; I guess I was hoping for a bit more variety and different dishes, this being the 3rd day of seafood fest! No complaints at all, but there are other places in the area with very good seafood, full bar, seating on the water, etc. (I thought this place could probably charge much more, being just as it is, if it were anywhere near the actual beach or waterway).

Hunters & Gatherers is an absolute gem! We each ordered a different sandwich--the Woodland & Rich…read moresteak sandwich and the H&G BLT--and split them. Honestly, that's the best way to do it because you get to experience two incredible sandwiches in one meal. Both were packed with flavor, made with high-quality ingredients, and far exceeded our expectations. The fries were cooked perfectly--crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. They also serve a house-made tomato ketchup that's a little sweeter than traditional ketchup, and it's a fun, unique touch if that's your style. Service was just as impressive as the food. The staff was genuinely welcoming, attentive without being overbearing, and checked in at all the right times to make sure we had everything we needed. I also enjoyed a fantastic black iced coffee from Trilogy Coffee. One of our favorite surprises was that our server brought us complimentary boiled peanuts. Neither of us had ever tried boiled peanuts before, and they were absolutely incredible! It was such a thoughtful Southern touch that made the experience even more memorable. Great food, generous portions, very reasonable prices, friendly people, a clean restaurant, and a relaxed atmosphere. Hunters & Gatherers is the kind of local place you hope to find, and we'll definitely be back. Highly recommend!
