The server looked at with a smile and slight confusion. We realized they were not yet open! I felt like a dunce. We offered to come back. She made sure we were comfortable, provided several laughs, and advised that the chef was preparing. The ambiance was so inviting and the overall vibe was great so waiting was not even a concern. We started with the wings. Oh my! They were out of this world. I can only assume (because I didn't ask) that they were soy garlic, and oh so yummy. Extremely tender and moist, with more flavor than any wing should have. My Daughter ordered the chilli oil noodles. They were a medium spice packed with flavor. My finance ordered hot and spicy noodles that didn't hold back. They were as described with the perfect about of heat. She'd felt they would have benefited from a bit of sweetness, but were delicious. I thought they were great. I ordered the mongoose Dan Dan noodles. They were also delicious. The noodles themselves were the star I feel. They had the perfect amount of bounce giving an authenticity I didn't expect. I tried all three dishes and my favorite was the hot and spicy noodles but my daughter gave her leftovers to her boyfriend! I was offended but I survived. We shared a slice of pistachio cake that was truly special. The server told us it was amazing but we didn't expect it to be that good. It was super moist, not overly sweet, and was nothing less than perfect. Totally unexpected. This is a true gem.

Please note that the menu changes daily. We waited a while for the food. So be prepared. We sat in…read morethe back dining area and it was super hot. The food was good the hot and spicy noodles had a better flavor and the steak in it was good. The pork belly had bones which was a first. They forgot our appetizer and it was too hot to try the dessert. I would go back but not until it is cold outside.

Who knew I'd find comforting Vietnamese food across from the Speedway!…read more I had just flown into Daytona Beach and, after settling into my hotel room, I came to Mama's Kitchen for dinner. Right away, we were greeted by a young lady and gentleman, and were directed to sit at one of the tables. The restaurant was clean and spacious. They had a cute little Vietnamese cart in the middle of the restaurant to bring a bit of Vietnam into its design. They also had a wall with a beautiful drawing. We ordered a few things from their menu, starting off with egg rolls and Bahn Mi with sweet potato fries. Whatever dip it came with was delicious - and that's coming from someone who doesn't like the orange sweet potatoes! We also ordered entrees such as their Bo Kho and Bo Ne. Both stews were delicious. For drinks, we had a Tamarind drink and a Kumquat drink - both of which were refreshing. Overall, I really liked the food here. And the decor was simple and the service was attentive. The gentleman who brought our food out was also very careful with making sure there were no peanuts in any of our dishes. I'd love to come back here again on my next visit and try a new dish!

I got Thai tea as well and that was the perfect sweet and not too heavy like a lot of places do. The restaurant was very clean when I came in and since I was sitting alone, a lot of restaurants give a little attitude over it but they were very welcoming and set me right up. My server and the lovely lady that brought out my food were phenomenal, constantly checking in on me and lmk that if I want to sub something it's no worry at all for next time. Which there will definitely be a next time -- probably way too soon.

The food is fresh and they have become our new Go To for sushi and poke bowls. They have nice sit down restaurant too! They're a fairly large restaurant that can accommodate large groups. They also serve seafood dishes: fried shrimp, fish and crab boils. My only criticism is they bring the food on noisy carts when serving to the table. I find this a little odd, but I guess this is their way.

The gyoza was very average - the pieces were relatively void of any discernible protein filling. The sashimi pieces were all a nice size and tasted fresh. Not much to say about miso soup - it's pretty much the same everywhere. But the salad was a pleasant surprise. Most restaurants put very little effort in preparing such a basic dish. Wild Ginger's salad was cold, crisp, and fairly generous. The hibachi steak was served hot. The amount of steak we received was definitely on the small side. The fried rice was moist and tasty. Next time, more meat please. Service was very good. Our server was a tall young guy who was enthusiastic, prompt, and proactive - he followed up with drink refills without us having to wave him down. Overall our meal was nothing noteworthy nor memorable, but was certainly good enough. We'd go back to Wild Ginger if we find ourselves in this area again.
