Note: I have had permanent makeup (eyebrows, eyeliner, and lips) already done several times by other technicians. Because of my dark complexion and active lifestyle I often need a touch-up every few years. I scheduled a consultation with Katrina and found her to be very pleasant and her work area clean and comfortable. My previous eyebrows were thin and had faded to a faint reddish color. Eyebrows nowadays are bolder, thicker and have a heavier arch. Katrina was able to design a lovely pair for me during our consultation. When I returned the following week for my procedure Katrina spent a great amount of time and detail designing my eyebrows until we were both happy with the shape. The procedure was painless and Katrina ensured I was comfortable the entire time. After a 2 hour nap I awoke with a new set of eyebrows. Katrina was able to conceal my previous outdated eyebrows very well. She provided me with aftercare instructions and ointment to apply for the next couple weeks. She also texted me a few weeks later to check up on my healing. I returned a few days ago for my touch-up. And again, Katrina did a wonderful job. She made a few minor adjustments to my shape where the pigment didn't settle in the first time around. I had Katrina do my eyeliner in the same visit, and again I am very happy with her work. I had thick eyeliner done several years ago by another technician that started to look a bit bluish over the years and decided they could use a refresher, too. In the past when I have had my eyeliner done I would be swollen for several days after, but I had minimal swelling and many people I encountered during the holidays could not tell I had my eyebrows and eyeliner done. I advise anyone interested in permanent makeup to please do your research. Permanent makeup or micropigmentation can be a process and investment. I have had work done by various technicians over the years and have had both good and bad experiences. Fortunately, Katrina is great. This review is for Katrina with whom I recently had my eyebrows done. I've had my eyebrows done 3 other times with 2 other people over the past 6 years and I must say that I am very pleased with Katrina's artistry, talent, and flexibility with time and scheduling. I found Katrina via Yelp (thank you Yelpers) and first saw her for a consultation. My main area of concern was that my previous tattoo was graying, fading, and flattening out. She explained to me that instead of using color from the bottle she would customize the color so that when it faded it wouldn't look gray, or blue, or red (or whatever the base color is). Instead, she showed me on her hand how the pigment would look after some time would pass based on how she mixed the colors herself. I have since gone in for my first session and follow-up and I am very pleased with the results. There are a few minor spots that haven't been completely filled in after the scabs fell off and Katrina said that she would fix them for me. Also, her work hasn't completely eliminated the "gray" from before but that was to be expected based on the ink that was inserted from the artist before. My biggest compliments are on how friendly and accommodating Katrina is and how generous she was with her numbing cream! I've never had numbing cream put on me before when I had my eyebrows done, and I've always been tense and uncomfortable while they tattooed me. However, Katrina noticed that a few tears were coming out when she first started and immediately applied numbing cream over and over again. So much, in fact, that it felt ticklish and I fell asleep both times I had them done. In addition, Katrina is a true artist and has an eye for shapes, colors, and detail. Even if you found someone who offered a more "economical" price, I would definitely tell you to consider paying a little extra for someone who is going to make a permanent mark (or two or three) on your face. She is also much more flexible with hours than some of the other places I called around. I work and cannot usually make it between the hours of 10 and 4 so it was nice that Katrina stayed later and was available on weekends. After 2 years since Katrina did my original eyeliner, I did my first eyebrow microblading with her. She is still the same very sweet and genuine professional permanent make up artist and did another amazing job this time on my eyebrows. She listened to me for what I wanted done and also gave her own great advice. Katrina worked on my top eyeliner about a month ago and I went in today for my touch up (included in the price for the procedure). Katrina was very attentive and the result turned out to be exactly what I wanted. I knew I wanted to get my top eyeliner done but I was worried about the pain associated with the procedure and the outcome (definitely didn't want to look like a science experiment gone wrong) - so picking the right artist was crucial. After meeting Katrina for a consultation, I decided to move forward with the top eyeliner. I was really nervous before she started but Katrina is such a great artist that I eventually realized I was worried about nothing - she has light hands and was very generous with the numbing cream. She asked me how I was doing throughout the process and continuously added numbing cream to make sure the process was pain free. It was very surprising to find out that the procedure was not as painful and uncomfortable as I expected it to be, especially with having a needle so close to my eyes. I researched permanent makeup after having a less then positive experience. Once you experience a high level of pain, it is hard to relax for the same kind of procedure. But Katrina is so sweet. She took the time to go over every detail with me. And was sensitive to the fact that I was afraid of the pain level. We scheduled and now it is all done. She did a great job.
