On multiple holes there are potholes in the green. Also on different holes there are multiple holes with cups in them.

Decent golf course. They usually have pretty reasonable availability. I tend to spend more time at the driving range which always has openings. read more

This was the worst experience I've ever had at a driving range. I was severely injured due their negligence. A guy on a mower 30 feet from us was knowingly mowing over golf balls and one shot out and hit me at full speed knocking me off my feet. The guy saw me get hit, yelled that they were closed for maintenance, and kept on mowing. No apology, did not check to see the damage to my leg, nothing. This place is not safe. Thank goodness that it was only my leg. The doctor I saw at immediate care told me that it could have been fatal if I was hit in another area on my body. I am documenting my treatment and process of recovery and will be taking action so that no one else is hurt in the way I was because of their negligence. read more

I used the Fresh Meadows training facility on 2/27/24. It is the worst maintained driving range I've ever seen. Every mat had "wear" holes in them, reducing the area where you could stand. Half the mats were missing the "tee" for driving. The ball dispenser spot out dirty. Mud-caked balls. Will not return to this facility. "1-star" might be too generous. read more

Absolutely worst course I've ever played in my life.. haven't cut a green or a fairway in 2 weeks.. definition of a dog track..

This was my third time playing Fresh Meadow. We had a 8am tee time but didn't hit the box until 8:15... We waited to tee on every single hole. This was easily a 5 hour round. There's no ranger to throw the smack down on slow play.  This particular Saturday was a breezy 90 degrees. I had a Nalgene bottle full of water from home but it was in need of refilling by the fourth hole. There's a water cooler there but it was bone-dry. Turns out that empty water cooler was the only one on the course as well. It was still empty a couple hours later when we passed it on the 15th hole.  Next to that empty water cooler was a porta-john... My wife had to let out some coffee and I could hear shouts of digust as soon as the door shut. It was in the nastiest condition of any porta-john I have ever seen. You could smell it from 20 feet away. This was is the only john out on the course... unless you were close enough to use the one in the clubhouse. I reported both issues to the kid at the counter in the pro shop. I'd be curious to know if anything ever got down. For $50 a round, you would think they could at least clean the john and supply some tap water to keep their players comfortable. The three of us will not be returning to Fresh Meadows. read more

When is the earliest date I can play 18 holes with 4 people including myself? Also, how much would it cost to rent out the entire course for one tour of 18 holes for 4 people? I've found most of the golfers here are "ghetto" players who have no respect for the game or just kids who are there to goof off and have no clue how to golf. Shhhh...don't tell anyone this, but I like to play golf! This is my favorite golf course to practice my swing at because of their on-site driving range and training facility. Thank goodness for these wonderful people and services because boy oh boy, does my swing need some work! The toughest part for me is keeping my head down even on the follow through because it is my natural instinct to want to look up and see where my ball went, to ensure it didn't knock someone I don't even know unconscious. Here you can get a bucket of 115 balls for only $10, which is a good deal. Also, being outside and doing something physical after a long day of sitting behind my work desk dealing with clients and telemarketers alike is rewarding. Thank you Fresh Meadow Golf Course for having such wonderfully clean practicing facilities, so maybe one day I too can have a better golf swing. read more

Ahh, Fresh Ghettos. There is really nothing special about this course. It is definitely fun to play and at times the greens are in good order. The rest of the time i can take it or leave it. I have a few issues... They raised their rates.. They seem quite high. I could get out to Maple Meadows or White Pines for the same rate.. if not less. Also, and this is a pet peeve... There are balls everywhere on the course!!! Sure, a lot of them are from the range (which has a nearly non existent net, very dangerous) or from people leaving their balls after taking mulligans. I mean, i love finding a ProV1 hit only once or twice, but id rather the course be clean of all debris.. that includes loose balls. lolz. knee slapper. Its alright though, i shouldnt hate too much. I love all courses. So yeah. Weekend crowds can get pretty thick, but other than that its decent. I like the 19th here. Dark and dingy. Reminds me of spending summers at my aunts cottage in Michigan. Good place for playing golf but their need to add Driver for some beginners but the rest is good but JUST DONT GO TO THE BATHROOM TRUST ME!

Definitely the nicest $30/round golf course I've been to. The course was in great shape from tee box to greens. Even after a 35 minute downpour mid-round, it drained really well and we didn't see one puddle the rest of the round. The clubhouse is pretty typical as far as grub and drink goes. It's a pretty wide open course, you won't find many old-growth trees blocking your shots (unless you're like me and shank them into the woods on a regular basis). There is quite a bit of sand, but not a lot of water. One negative is that part of the course is adjacent to the range, so that means if you fire one into the rough, it's really tough trying to find your ball among the hundreds of range balls. read more

Four!!! Okay, I'm not a golfer. Miniature golf, that's another story. I can putt with the best of them. And if you're like me, Fresh Meadows might be the place for you. The course itself is very low key and not intimidating. So, it definitely is a place where you can hone your skills a little. The costs are reasonable if you have your own set of clubs; or even a couple of decent clubs and a putter. The course is small and pretty immaculate for it's caliber; though it does get mushy after a series of rains. I think, if there is a problem with Fresh Meadows, it has nothing to do with the staff. They are helpful and nice to deal with. But if you happen to be in front of a group that considers themselves golf gifted to the point where their names should be announced before they tee off, as if it was St. Andrews, it becomes your problem. And it shouldn't be. But, for little company events or just personal golf time, this place is A-OK. read more

Golf anyone? Only if you are on a budget. $38 with coupon or $45 without. That includes the cart. Balls, add $20, two bags of tee's for $1. Golf club rentals are pretty cheap at $25, if you don't have a set, and like most places, it's one golf bag per person. So, each person needs a set of clubs to play (That's how they get you). Landscaping and greens are not the best, but not bad for beginners. Pace, really important on a course, keep it moving people. They are pretty good at getting you to keep your pace up. read more

One would assume that it would be impossible for a course to not live up to the $29 rate, but Fresh Meadow was able to do it. Played from the blue tees and not a single one had actual grass but rather a delightful mix of dirt and weeds. With the obscene number of people that they pack onto this course you would think they would be able to do a little maintenance. If I had to try and find a positive, the greens were in shockingly good shape. They putt true but were incredibly slow because they don't roll them often enough. Also, for the first time in my life I actually saw old cups that weren't plugged on several greens. Nothing beats having obstacles in your line..... if you are playing miniature golf. The positive reviews of this course are from a few years back and I can definitely believe that at some point in time it was a bargain. Unfortunately, this is no longer the case and even at $29, save yourself the trip. read more

The secret side of me loves to get a good game in! When I say good game is when I can make it on the fairway in under 5 strokes. As you can tell my game needs juust a little bit of work! However, I like the course, it not an easy one for me especially when trying to tee off over the water. I do wish that they would keep up maintenance just a tad bit more. Some of the holes look so desolate and forgotten about. Besides that I do still go back. Keep in mind its not cheap... a foursome will definitely run you a pretty penny. Place is a dump with poor service on top of it. I've played there many times only due to its convenient location near my work. When one makes a tee time, they don't honor the tee time. They typically have multiple groups waiting to tee off during my tee time. I then have to wait for everyone else to go in front. Why take tee times if they aren't going to honor them? Bush league and dis respectful to their customers time. The course makes a ton of money. They don't put a dime into fixing it back up. The course is below par maintenance wise. The clubhouse is like a 4am dive bar. Air conditioning doesn't even work. So if you want to have a beer or lunch in some nice ac after a hot day on the course don't come here. read more

We have had our driver's golf outing here for the last three years running. Usually, we don't get invited back to a golf course for this outing (let's just say some of us are a little unruly). But the people here are fabulous! The service here is wonderful, and the bartenders in the clubhouse rock! I am not a very good golfer, and have only been to a few other courses, but from what I can tell, the greens are very well kept, and the course fairly challenging. (Well, after a couple of Jagerbombs and countless Miller Lights, mini-golf poses a problem). read more

I will start out by saying I am not on any .com tours - so I know what I am getting at Fresh Meadows. I have played this course a lot over the past two years. It is a decent course for a player of my caliber (learning). BUT, I was there this weekend to get in 18 - we usually like to be the first ones on the course so we do not have to wait on anyone - because most players are bad here and take forever. Well, this weekend was BAD. If you missed the fairway just a bit - you couldn't find your ball at all, the grass was SOOOO high. I am not sure if this was a case of laziness on groundskeeping, but it was frustrating. It did rain a few days before so it was a tad wet - if this was the reason for the very high grass - a discount or warning would have been nice. You owe me a sleeve of balls for that round. Also, since we were the first ones out - we still had to wait on 14 and had 2-3 groups in front of us. Not cool. A lot of people jump around here what really stinks. No Ranger at all, maybe it would be good to have one. I don't want to knock the course because I know what I get, but my time this weekend wasn't the best - from the high grass to the wait - I am not sure if I would be back again. read more

Played here for the first time with my girlfriend. The course feels old, but has a decent long layout. They just need to mow the fairways and rough more often and shorter. It's a long course even from the white tees, so make if fair and enjoyable. If you land on the fairway you should get some roll, and the rough is a beeotch to hit out of,, Keep both shorter and you got a nice thing going. But judging by the condition of the clubhouse, not much investment is being put in to it.. That's a shame. read more

Depends what you are looking for, but if you are a novice or are looking for an easy course then this is for you. Pretty open fairways, one or two water hazards and a bunch of traps, but nothing to worry about. The greens were fairly large and had little to no slope. They even told us they have a mandatory rule that you have to allow 15 minutes for every hole; which for those who do not know, that is a LONG time, which tells you it is geared towards those with a little less experience. Have been there for our annual outing two straight years, so I doubt it costs a lot and it was easy to get to from the city as its close to 290. Overall great times, shot the best round of my life last year, but if you are looking to finish quickly or for a nicer course then this may not be for you. read more

I love this facility the staff was oh so sweet because my swing needs some serious help. They have golf camp for little kids which was oh so charming, and they are super cheap compared to some of the Chicago ranges. I think I'm going to buy me a R5 and get my golf on when I can read more

Fairways do not exist here. Course is dry and greens are ok but definitely affected by the harsh winter. Overall not worth $29

OVERPRICED! 6/2012 : Phoned in our groups reservation (specifically to inform the course my groups desire is to WALK, - no on-line, tee time, option to select walking). The receptionist naturally accepted & quoted a reasonable rate for walking 18. At check-in my group is informed "no walking" & the rate increased an additional $29 for a drive cart. (Yes, we should've "walked" out at that point) Personally a golf course is to be walked. Makes no sense to be required to use a drive cart to hurry up, wait several minutes to tee off @ the next hole, for nothing more than to increase capacity & revenue with no regard for it's patrons who endure a 5hr round. Fresh meadows is an average course, at best, that's in below average condition, while charging "real" golf course rates. The greens fee increase from last season, to this, is expediential & unwarranted. The amenities leave much to be desired, as does the lack of scenery... unless dead/rotting trees throughout, scorched fairway's & roughs are your thing than this IS the course for you! On this particular 95 degree hot, humid, & steamy morning the course provided ONE water cooler... on the back 9. - I've golfed several Cook Country courses that have water coolers staged @ every 3rd hole. ..1 star is because Bueno Beef is across the street. read more

The course itself is OK at best. The twilight price is fine for what you get. The reason I rate this so low is they do a terrible job of spreading out groups and/or using rangers to actually keep players on pace. It seems they book the course with as many golfers as possible and aren't really concerned with how slow anyone plays. I tee'd off at 5:30pm on a Monday and ran into a wall after the 2nd hole. After that I did not wait less than 5 minutes for a shot until it got dark out (at 6pm on a weekday!!!). Didn't see one ranger on the course the entire time. read more

I've played this course a lot over the past three years and never had any issues. It can get a bit crowded but usually is in pretty good shape and affordable. I played this past Saturday and took a friend who was new to the area. I was embarrassed at the course conditions and felt like I should have given him some of the $55 he paid, out of my own pocket. Nearly half of the tee boxes were destroyed by what was described as a fertilizer mishap. Instead of closing the boxes and moving golfers to a temporary spots so they can recover, they were still open. On par threes where you tee it up low, there was either no grass or it was two inch tall weeds. It was like teeing your ball in the rough or a hazard. It was disappointing and I'm likely to not go back until I hear about better conditions. We could have paid a few bucks more and gone another five minutes to Oak Brook. Fresh Meadows seems to just take the money from anyone who wants to play it. It was a Saturday and we teed off as a twosome, behind a foursome who was playing behind a single. At the turn, I say six guys playing together on the first hole. The course is work $25 at best right now and that's if they give you a cart. The driving range was even more disappointing in that they smallest bucket to hit off grass was $10 for 40 rock-hard balls. The tees are not tee slots but simply mowed grass, brown and patchy despite regular rains in the area. This place is the sh**iest course I've ever been too. This place deserves negative stars and there is no such thing as a fairway here. This was the biggest waste of 4 hours and 5$ of my life. Their pullcarts are pieces of tin with wheels. There are holes in the fairway and I renamed this place fresh ghettos. Went there one day to only use the driving range. There was a dog on the driving range. Every time I wold go into my backswing the dog would bark. Finally I asked the individual who had the dog on the driving range if he could shut him up or take him to the car. Well that wonderful individual happened to be the course super, or manager, or whatever he was. He got very stern and raised his voice. I returned the attitude and I was ejected from the property. Would not go back. Had a tee time for the following weekend and cancled. They act like they're dong you a favor to golf or practice there. I would much rather go to down the street to Oakbrook. this course is a joke... each time I come here they want to pair me up with random strangers and its very annoying... they have people tee off nearly every five minutes, talk about being backed up !!! forget the weekends, it'll take over 5 hours to complete the course and it seems like the staff only cares about making money. If the 1st tee is busy, they throw people on the back 9 like it doesnt matter if it gets backed up later.. !!!! read more

The driving range is not good. The balls must be at least 10 years old...most with the dimples worn off. Needs some upgrading.
