I got this for lunch a few days ago. I opted to get their life bowl with chicken and steak, extra jicama, and pumpkin seeds, and guac. I've been here before and wanted something pretty healthy. The nice thing about creating your own life bowl, is you can customize your bowl to your liking. Their online ordering template is easy to follow. When I went to pick up my life bowl, it was ready to go. When I got home, I dug into the life bowl. I think they give you a generous portion of the bowl. It's great for those that are trying to cut out gluten/increase their protein consumption. So on to the food. I LOVE jicama, I just wish it wasn't an extra charge. The chicken seemed dry. I'm not sure if it's because they cut it so thin, but it was dry. The steak was much better. Will I be back? Yes. I want to try some of their tacos. read more

I came in an the young girl in the front who took my order was great super kind, as was everyone else who I interacted with. Customer service was there 10/10. Food was a 3/10 I ordered the Birria Bowl $17.50. I ordered it, sat at the bar and in less than 5minutes the food was served. Shocking, once looking at the dish my appetite diminished, I am aware the dish was "Tex-Mex" but ughhh this is the 3rd "Mexican" spot in Saint Augustine/Jax I try that is anything but what I am used to as being authentic from California. Since I ordered Birria I expected to see my meat drenched in consume with lots of diced onions, cilantro full of flavor. The meat tasted like barbacoa, the sauce tasted like caldo de res, and there were big chunks of jalapeño. I really wasn't feeling it. Came with a side of chips with queso melted pepper jack maybe. Great location with a fresh restaurant/bar ambiance. There are 3 ways to order, walk up to the counter, use the QR code at your table or they will come to take your order.Since it was our first time here, we decided to sit at a table.. we waited a few minutes to see if a server would come to take our order, but after seeing many people order at the counter and the table servers focusing on the bar area, we decided to use the QR code. We ordered a trio appetizers which includes guacamole, queso and salsa, a quesadilla, three tacos and two soft drinks. Bill was $45, before tip. The trio arrived quickly along with two empty cups, for the self-serve fountain drinks and iced tea. Sour cream is also self serve along with silverware. Paper towel rolls are on the table (which were very thin and rough in texture) like white bathroom paper towels. The entrees arrived not long after the appetizer, so you didn't really have time to enjoy the apps. The quesadilla was listed on the menu as including black beans, but when it arrived it only had cheese and chicken and was very bland. I would not return for food, but might go to enjoy some cocktails, but since we didn't order any, I'm not sure how their bar prices compare. read more

On a recommendation from my son, I decided to try out the new Fresh Mex restaurant near Durban Crossing for dinner. I went in thinking that I probably would not like it because Mexican is not my first choice for dinner options. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised! The restaurant decor is very modern and freshly updated from what it was previously (Extreme Wing Cafe.) The booths are large enough to accommodate large parties (I'd say 8-10 per booth comfortably!) the ordering process has several different options: walk up to the cashier and order your food and then be seated, order from your table via server, or order from your table via QR code and have the server bring it out to you. The presentation upon delivery was gorgeous. The meals looked like they were straight off of a page in a magazine! The portions are VERY generous. None of us at the table could finish our meals! The staff was very accommodating to our needs during the ordering process. However, after delivery of our orders no one returned to the table to check on our satisfaction or further needs. If I had one major complaint it's that they don't serve ground beef. Despite that & not returning to the table to check on our party, I still recommend this Fresh Mex! Most restaurant food tastes like restaurant food but this was such great quality. I waited until 2pm to order from the happy hour menu ($3 off margaritas and other drinks) and got the Premium Marg. I'm so used to places giving premixed drinks that this also blew me away. He made it right in front of me and it was spectacular. Perfect ration, brimming with flavor. Ordering st the counter when you get there, seat yourself, they will give you a number for your table and they bring you food. All the food orders are large. The bowls, you can feed two easily. The tacos are very tasty. Queso is a bit loose not very thick, its "ok"... also could be pricey. the only draw back is their napkins.... A roll of paper towel that are thin and not serrated, they are garbage.. do not rip well, and flimsy! PLEASE GIVE CUSTOMERS REGULAR NAPKINS!!! read more
