It tasted like a good home made classic chicken salad. The bread, lettuce, and tomato was so fresh. I also chose the organize salt and garlic chips, such a great choice. The yelpers praised the salmon wrap sandwich with mixed greens so I ordered that and customized a smoothie with almond milk, strawberries, pineapple and mango. I had a taste for a smoothie, but I didn't want to go to one of the National chains (Tropical Smoothie Cafe, Jamba Juice, etc) because their sugar content is very high. This is probably one of my favorite smoothie shops on the south side! I love the fact that they promote health and wellness and only serve foods that are nutritionally dense. Their food always seems to be fresh and made to order. I've had the bleak bean burger there at least 3 times and each time it was delicious! The Hulk Smash smoothie is amazing and so is their PBJ specialty smoothie as well. Now there is a bit of a wait time... be prepared to wait at least about 10-20 minutes for your food to be prepared. read more

Seriously one of the best smoothies I've ever had - The Hulk. Other reviews mentioned it and I'm Glad I listened. No dairy in any of their smoothies but I believe they have coconut or almond milk on request. When I go to Smoothie King or Planet Smoothie I usually cave and get one with frozen yogurt but the Hulk here tastes better than those and it's healthier. I've been back 3-4 times a week just for it. Chicken salad sandwiche tastes good and I order that often. Haven't tried other things yet, like fresh pressed juices but those might be the Arden Farms drinks I'm a cooler and not made on site. I love this place! I found them yesterday and decided to try them during lunch based on the reviews. I had a Build Your Own smoothie with a salmon salad wrap. I was thoroughly impressed by the variety of fresh fruit and healthy additive options (I'm picky about my food) for the smoothies and by the flavor packed into the wrap. So impressed, in fact, that I went again today for lunch. This time, I tried the turkey wrap and kale salad and was disappointed I didn't opt for another smoothie by the time I got back to work. The thing that pushed me over the edge to write this review was that I finished half my turkey wrap about an hour ago. I'm full and satisfied; but I'm fighting myself to keep from eating the other half because it was that good! I didn't even use the honey mustard I asked for. I've been to Fresh Smoothie Cafe several times and have never been disappointed with the food or service. I'm super picky and there are so many outstanding things about this cafe. I will start with they have the "best" black bean burger ever! I always get the grand slam and all of the ingredients are fresh. The prepared to order smoothies and fresh juices are very good also. They carry Eden's Garden cold pressed juices which is convenient for those who don't want to drive into Atlanta to get them. You can also find a host of healthy choices just to name a few Yogi teas, alkaline water, crab and chicken salads, as well as granola mixes and cookies (oatmeal raisin is so good). The customer service is "outstanding"! The owner and staff are professional and friendly. It's apparent he takes his business and customers serious because everything is top notch. This place used to be my comfort after a long day of teaching. Especially in the beginning of the school year, I would stop by here several times out of the week because I was having a hard time maintaining meals for myself. I really enjoyed their burgers, advocated for other teachers at my school to eat here, and felt happy to patronize a black-owned business as a black woman myself. However, this soon changed after the mistreatment I received from the management/ownership of this store. One day, I got food poisoning from consuming their food. I tried calling the store that day to let them know, but was unable to get in contact with them. Their number kept going to voicemail. I called again the next day, and the same thing happened. Once I got in contact with them the day after that, I was told they would call me back about it the next morning. They did not, so I went in person to address this issue. When I went in person, I explained my situation - that I was a frequent supporter of this business, and though I truly enjoyed their food, one badly made burger caused food poisoning for me. I asked to be either refunded or to simply have the burger remade due to this incident. I was questioned and gaslit on many levels. First, I was asked why I didn't call. After explaining that their number wasn't functioning, they tried telling me that I must've been calling the wrong number. I showed them proof of my call logs from both days. Then, I was asked why I didn't email them, claiming that their email was on their website. I pulled up their website, and after showing them that their email was not publicly available on their website, I was asked why I didn't just facebook message them instead. Then, I was questioned on why I came so late in the day to talk to them. I told the head manager who questioned me (Anita) that I was an elementary school teacher, and was unable to leave early. She questioned me on why I didn't leave on my break (I don't get one), or during my lunch (We eat with our students) to get there earlier to talk to her. I apologized for being tired as I spoke to her, and then she told me that I couldn't be nearly as tired as she was from her job, and that I should've gotten there sooner (I hadn't slept in nearly a week due to grading, testing, and creating care packages for my struggling students). Finally, the head manager stated that she would get in contact with the owner to help resolve this issue. I was first told that I would have to go through UberEats since I ordered for pickup through the platform. UberEats then asked me to reach out to Fresh Smoothie Cafe to resolve this issue. I went back to speak to the owner about this, asking him for help/to reach out as well so that I could receive a refund. He claimed that UberEats 'would never say that' - so I offered to show him my email conversation with them. He told me that it was UberEat's problem, even though it was Fresh Smoothie Cafe that served me their food upon pickup. I told him that if he truly couldn't refund me, I would be happy with just another (well-made) burger to replace the bad one - because I didn't quite care about the money, but more about the way I was being treated as a person/customer, especially as someone who supported them wholeheartedly. He implied several times that I was lying, and emphasized that there was nothing he wanted to do about the situation since I ordered for pickup through UberEats rather than ordering in person at their Cafe. In my conversation with him, the owner of this restaurant made clear to me that he didn't care about the way his food affected his customers as long as he retained his profit, nor cared to provide any sense of respect or empathy to the people he served. As I spoke with these people, their reasonings were unsound and their actions/words towards me lacked integrity. I never once received an apology for the food poisoning, nor for the way I was treated by them in the aftermath. Since then, my colleagues and I have refused to patronize this business. We have told other teachers in our area to do the same. I write this review to let others know that they aren't alone if they've been treated horribly by this business. It worked out well in the end for me, because I learned how to make what I needed myself. However, no one deserves to be treated like that, especially for a service or product that they paid for. The owner/management will probably try to deny this as well, but this is my lived experience with them over a week of being unnecessarily questioned and gaslit.
