This place was only open a few days a week with limited hours. The inside gave off island vibes with the décor and music being played when I attended. The menu had mostly ice cream with tons of unique homemade flavors along with waffles and ice cream sandwiches. I opted for the ice cream cookie sandwich with vanilla ice cream ($8.75?). This was gigantic!! I still am unsure how all of the ice cream was fit into the two chocolate chip cookies, but it managed to all stay together. This was tasty. The vanilla ice cream was creamy and 'full.' The chocolate chip cookies were very tasty too and went well with the vanilla taste. I also tried a chocolate brownie flavor. It was far too chocolatey to me. Will I go back? I would.

Super cute ice cream shop in Somerville! They have a good selection of flavors but it's not an extensive menu. I had the cookie doh and really enjoyed it. The scoop was a generous portion. I would definitely return!

Came in on a Friday night when visiting family in the area. It's one of the few dessert spots open till 10PM on Fridays. While there were a few other dessert options, we decided to check this place out for the variety. The dessert shop is located in a small nook where pedestrians can walk. It's perpendicular to the Main Street that runs through downtown Somerville, which is where you'd park to get here. As soon as we walked in, the decorations were the first thing that stood out to us. While we could tell the interior of the building wasn't the newest or most contemporary, the decor, wallpaper, and seating did a great job to create nice ambiance. The menu offers quite a variety of items ranging from waffles on a stick, to standard ice cream scoops, to donut ice cream sandwiches. For the ice cream, there are both "Premium" and "Signature" flavors offered. Either variety is available in a cup or cone. However, only "Signature" flavors are allowed to be chosen for cookie, donut, or waffle sandwiches. While I was intrigued by the waffle option, a few of the "Premium" ice cream flavors stood out to me. The flavor variety here outweighed my desire to try the waffle. I went for the medium size ice cream, which allows you to choose two flavors. I went for Salty Pumpkin Pretzel and Butter Pecan in a waffle cone. My cousin had went for a cookie sandwich, which comes standard with chocolate chip cookies. While it sounded delicious, the cookies are very thin. I did appreciate that the sandwich had a generous amount of ice cream in it. However, the huge scoop of ice cream and very thin cookies create a very unproportional ratio for holding an ice cream sandwich. It crumbles and becomes a mess very soon after biting into it. In terms of quality and flavor, I was very happy with both flavors of ice cream I received. My medium size in a waffle cone cost about 9 dollars. While that is a bit pricey for ice cream, that unfortunately seems to be the standard nowadays for most dessert places. I was at least happy to get a generous ice cream portion with very high quality ingredients and flavor. Overall, I enjoyed this place a lot. They offer a wide variety of items for people with varying dessert preferences. While I don't frequent this area a ton, I'd pay it another visit if I was in the area again.

This place is a ray of sunshine, a burst of happiness and just covered in pink and flamingos. I never got a chance to see the inside as I've only learned they were in that little promenade off of Main St in Somerville recently, but I am pretty sold on this place for both sweet treats and healthy bites. Since Covid, they are only doing outdoor seating, to go and local delivery (I am not 100% sure if delivery is always an option) and you even order at the walk up window. It's pretty ideal if you've been avoiding new and even your favorite places because you aren't sure how well you'll be able to social distance. I've gotten an amazing Acai bowl that filled me up and then had some left over for a snack later on. I cannot remember its name but it had a lot of coconut, and pineapple and the acai base. It was so tasty and I chatted with the owner Amy about how their açai is not loaded with as much sugar as many other places (because of something that I feel silly for not remembering now) but it made me feel a lot better about the devouring the bowl. In addition to healthy snacks, their ice cream is out of this world. Seriously! I've tried the strawberries and cream, coffee and chocolate as part of their ice cream cookie sandwich box and it's deliciously creamy. I'm seriously in love with this place and would recommend a stop here when perusing Somerville.

Ice cream is high quality and HUGE variety whether you love ice cream, complex sundaes, smoothies or waffle covered in your current obsessions. There is a good amount of seating inside and outside. No samples and staff is still functioning like we are in the thick of a pandemic (behind a wall). It was challenging to see flavor options, crowd management is a problem and there's no photos of the treats. You need to choose on a hope and a dream and if you're lucky it's tasty and exactly what you hoped for.

Came here for some treats and everyone enjoyed everything! What we got: Original hot chocolate Original waffle wands Warm brownie sundae Strawberry shortcake The original hot chocolate was rich and chocolatey, the wands were fluffy and had a bit of cinnamon which we enjoyed, and the warm brownie sundae and strawberry shortcake were so yummy! From the pictures, you can see that they piled the strawberry shortcake to the utmost top!

Such a fun spot in Downtown Somerville! You can definitely pop in for a cup or cone of ice cream (they have a bunch of unique flavors), but they also make sundaes and ice cream sandwiches with cookies or donuts! They have a variety of flavored hot chocolates and waffle wands. The waffle was so soft and buttery, I got mine topped with Nutella and their chocolate chip cookie crumble; really yummy! All Instagram worthy stuff. There are a few small tables inside but I imagine the best way to enjoy their desserts is walking along main street or sitting outside on a bench. Make sure you check them out if you're in the area! The owners are so nice and personable, they are clearly happy to be serving their customers and the community.

Such a welcomed addition to downtown Somerville! Here's the scoop. There's something for everyone at Fresh Tiki, including those who gotta keep it dairy-free. The extensive menu ranges from smoothies, acai + pitaya bowls, frozen yogurt, ice cream sandwiches to ice cream sundaes - you name it, they have it. We stopped in after dinner and ordered an array of ice cream treats. You'll have to pay them a visit if you wanna see their ice cream flavors for the day. It's artisanal and made in small batches after all. The orange dream ice cream was a delight but the strawberry shortcake sundae was divine... and whimsical! For a few bucks more, you can even get the sundaes in "family size" to share. Creamy vanilla ice cream with fresh strawberries (not the syrupy stuff) and fresh shortcake topped with a mountain of whipped cream. Holy moly. You can taste the love and perfection that goes into their ice cream creations. Well worth the visit!

Popped in for some smoothies while enjoying some music on Division Street on Memorial Day.... They have a good variety of offerings so we went with a strawberry banana and a mango banana. We enjoyed the drinks... they are a little pricey but I guess it's in line with what other shops like this offer.... I'd like to visit again and try out one of their fresh fruit bowls....

I wish I could give more than 5 stars! Not only is this place unlike anywhere around, their unique and incredible ice cream flavors and dessert concepts are simple amazing!!! I love love love the donut ice cream sandwich (which is made with fresh donuts from a local bakery). The attention to detail with every scoop is just impressive. Not only is the food beautiful, but the decor and atmosphere of this spot is totally instagrammable! This place is a MUST go!

Great place to go for a quick ice cream run! It looked like they had a variety of things (ice cream, pudding, acai bowls) but we were just craving ice cream. They have about 10 flavors of each type of ice cream, dairy and non-dairy (vegan), and they were delicious! They didn't advertise sampling flavors but I'm sure you could. The thing that is best about this place is the AMBIANCE. Seriously so great, feels like you're at the beach! I would love to come back just because of this, and also to try the other food items they have to offer.

We love all things Fresh Tiki! The owners are such friendly and fun people and bring great energy to division street. In the winter they have over the top hot chocolate flavors and always introducing fun new items like the flamingo themed drink on girls night out. You are already breaking whatever diet rules you have, and are spending 4x the money than getting it at the grocery store, so I understand expectations are high but bad ice cream really sucks. And unfortunately I had a recent traumatizing experience where it was hard and freezer burned and not sweet so I was afraid when walking into this place that it would be a repeat experience. So. afraid. (end prerant) Greeted by pineapples, pink flamingos, and T.V. scenes of calming beaches, my friend & I had to walk through a narrow area to get to the ice cream in the back. We were almost distracted by the acai bowls and smoothie options as well. This place is legit because they do all their ice cream fresh, with a ton of dairy-free options. He got 2 scoops of the cashew coffee (very unique take, not excessively nutty). I got myself a scoop of each lemon cookie (creamy and tarty) & cookies and cream (oreoy in all the good ways possible) ... both with lots of cookie chunks! Love it. These two scoops are BIG. Unfortunately could not make it through all the way but glad it was delicious enough for me re-instill my confidence again in how amazing ice cream is.

Fresh tiki bar is 100% my favorite smoothie bowl place ever! I've tried smoothie bowls from various places in Boston, to New York to even Spain, and fresh tiki bar hands down has the best tasting fruit, the best açaí and pitaya bases and the best service. Unlike places like Playa Bowl, the bowls here are extremely tasty, fulfilling and healthy. Man oh man; where do I begin?! Let's just say, Fresh Tiki is a fruit bowl lovers dream. They're bowls are just as their name name entails "Fresh"! I've even seen the owner Aimee bring out a fresh package of strawberries (so you know everything there is made from scratch and not previously handled or altered) Not only do they have a wonderful selection of menu items but you can also personalize and customize them too!! Everything is always well proportioned and beautifully put together! (Not just thrown together like some other places) I can't even stress how consistent their bowls are! There is never a fault I can find and I can't stress enough how much of a relief it is to walk in and know I'll get the same amazing product every time. Depending on how many bowls you get, you can have a little bit of wait time, but it's completely worth it for the perfection that is their bowls. They also offer bubble waffles with fruits and an assortment of other add ins, drinks (smoothies and lemonade - their La La Lemonade is to die for!) , and a new menu item - the homemade , pressed sandwiches!! (which come with a side of chips and a soda). Their pricing is the same as any other fruit bowl place; so don't let that hold you back!! With a wide variety of options, friendly staff, fresh ingredients, delicious bowls/drinks/sandwiches, and reasonable pricing ; There is no reason not to come here! Had to write a review for the ice cream as most reviews written referred to the fresh fruit/smoothie bowls. Fresh Tiki Bar also offers ice cream in flavors both traditional and vegan. We tried the Thunder Road ice cream (caramel ice cream with dark chocolate covered pretzels) and Vegan Spicy Mango. Both were amazing! We were also given a taste of the Vegan Mint Chocolate Chip that was also wonderful. Owner told us Fresh would be doubling the number of flavors as spring turns to summer, they currently offer 4 of each. Just a heads up, this establishment is very small with limited seating; explains the previous reviewers' mentions of long lines/small space. Great location on Division Street and come summer, be prepared to wait. This business may be looking for a larger store very soon. read more

Amazing! I had the vegan ice cream flavors Cookie Butter and Almond Joy. Both were amazing. Honesty the best vegan ice cream I've ever had. Also, the scoops were a good size! I purchased two scoops but it looked a little more than the average "two scoops". Loved it. Also, my girlfriend got a berry and banana smoothie and it was delicious! It was creamy even though there was no dairy! She was happy it wasn't watered down and that it was full of flavor. The prices may be a bit more than the average ice cream shop but I think it was so so worth it. 10/10 read more

If you're looking for something fresh and healthy to satisfy that sweet tooth then hula your way over to Fresh Tiki Bar for some insta-worthy treats. In an effort to stick with my healthy resolutions I opted to treat myself with a pitaya bowl instead of a birthday cake this year and I have no regrets. The owners even personalized it...talk about A+ customer service! It wasn't just pretty but the bowl was really delicious and packed with fresh fruit. A great spot to visit! read more

I've been here twice within the last week. The first time it was very crowded and I tried the Hunka Hunka Burnin' Love. The second time it was just two of us in the building and I tried the Lone Star. Both things I tried were Acai based and absolutely amazing!!! The only complaints I have would be that there's minimal seating, which doesn't seem to be much of a problem right now because of the weather being colder, but when it gets warmer I can see this potentially being an issue, especially if you're going with a group of people. The second thing is you only get a very small piece of dragonfruit, if it's included in the bowl you choose, which is a bummer/a little misleading because the portion compared to the rest of the fruit you get is just very off. The last thing would be that it does take on the longer side to make the bowls, so patience is key! BUT these bowls are well worth it!! read more

I ordered the Sweet Emotion and it was fantastic! There was so much fruit piled on top, as well as. Hidden ring of pineapple at the bottom of the bowl which was delicious. Don't get your regular ice cream here they are stingy with their one scoop for $4.. You get so little of a scoop for $4 that it's not worth it. There was absolutely NO ONE IN HERE ON A BUSY FRIDAY NIGHT. The ice cream Store a few doors down had a long line all night long & was out of ice cream and that was the only reason we went in here and too bad we did. True they have vegan ice cream but if you are n't vegan, skip this place for ice cream. read more

When you walk in here, its a bit confusing.. you see a tiki bar, pineapples, but ice cream? its just strange. Came here for the ice cream.. 4 soft serve orders cost almost $40??? and they are very skimpy with the amount they give you.. the ice cream is eh.. go to Summerville ice cream if you want the best ice cream in town. the service is also BRUTALLY slow. they have been open for two years but it seems like they just opened. idk just got a bad vibe. read more

This place is amazing and truly lives up to its name "Fresh!" All of the fruit used in the bowls is so incredibly refreshing and tasty. Best açaí bowls around and very addictive- I wish I could get one everyday, especially in the summer months. While there is a small wait (about 10 minutes) for the bowls, it is WELL worth it. Not only are the bowls delicious, but they are jam packed with fruit and are a work of art. Love the extra special touch of the heart and star shaped fruits!! A true small business in which It is obvious that the owners take great pride in their business and their product. YUM! read more

This could be addictive. Took much longer than I thought but worth the wait. The bowls are big enough to eat as a meal and you don't even feel guilty after. If you get the granola eat it right away Bc I let the leftovers sit in my fridge and they didn't stay very crunchy. Can't wait to go back. read more

Delicious and refreshing... huge portions so the price per person is very reasonable. All sundaes are freshly made with delicious ingredients and a absolutely sized to share. You may need a bit of patience when they're busy but worth the wait. read more

Really good FRESH fruit. Customer service was friendly, and this place actually serves real wholesome fresh ingredients, which is really rare to find in the smoothie/acai world (trust me you can taste the freshness). A little pricey, but worth the price of admission. Maybe it was the time of day, but the set up/menu was a little confusing to figure out, but one of the employees was able to help us. The staff is always very pleasant and helpful when i am not sure what to order bc its all yummy! The smoothies are all natural which is a nice change from other too sugary stores and it tastes great! The ice cream is also soooo good. The waffle ice cream sundays or waffle grilled cheese looks so unique and taste great. A must try in somerville! read more

Our waiter came out and gave us the rundown of the menu . They had a promo menu because of the Devil Wears Prada movie . I did get a specialty non alcoholic drink from the menu which was excellent. We ordered the French toast and the avocado toast with scrambled eggs and it came with smoked salmon on sourdough bread . The French toast was so good and moist you didn't even need to add additional syrup . The food was delicious and the portion sizes are perfect . The restaurant is cozy so if you have a big party make reservations. But you won't be disappointed I can't wait to visit Brunch by De Martino again whenever I come back to New Jersey . The bakery associate told me they just ran out, but they are baking new ones now. If I wait 10-15 minutes, I will get a freshly baked one. I could not believe my lack. Fresh Tiki Bar is always the place to go on a Friday or Saturday night in downtown Somerville. They have been voted THE BEST Hard Ice Cream in New Jersey at least three years in a row according to all the awards in the window of the shop. Not only is the Ice Cream THE BEST, Fresh Tiki Bar also has the BIGGEST selection of Ice Cream Flavors in downtown Somerville hands down. During the summer months there is always a line but it's mainly because there's so many flavors to choose from people take forever to decide- I know I have BUT, They're all AMAZING, just pick a few and you're gonna love it no matter what! Customer service is also great! Everybody who has ever helped my family and I had been patient and grateful that we are there. Favorite Items to get- Fresh Baked Cookie Sandwich- It's Baked Fresh so the cookie is soft and warm. It's amazing. Fresh Tiki Bar Continues to AMAZE me! From the incredible customer service to the dedication of the owners, I swear this is the ONLY dessert spot in Somerville worth your time. I have sampled everything on the menu at this point. I have been coming here for over four years now and every visit is better than the last. They have homemade signature flavors that change daily with favorites like the italian rainbow cookie and crumb cake. They are the most unique flavors i've ever experienced. The waffle wands are another of my favorites. I recently asked to get a box of them to take to a retirement party and they were perfect! Nutella Cookie and Fruity Pebbles are my favorites! New to the menu is their Warm Sundaes- I love the warm apple pie during the fall. There are many reasons why this place has been voted THE BEST Ice Cream and THE BEST desserts in New Jersey.
