Can't wait to visit more often in the summer! Took advantage of a warm March day to walk over to this family-owned and operated ice cream parlor tucked in a small Hillsborough shopping center and was glad I made the trip to mark it off my list. This little shop offers a unique fusion of flavors that will certainly satisfy any sweet tooth and offer both delicious ice creams and fun cones and containers for whatever your craving desires at a fairly reasonable price, staying under $10 for a small cup and waffle cone, each with about 2-3 scoops! I tried the Midnight Caramel River flavor, one I would highly recommend as I've never come across anything like it before and it's a delightful blend of golden vanilla and dark chocolate, filled with swirls of gooey caramel that didn't overpower the creamy texture of the ice cream. The combination of flavors was unlike anything I had ever tried before and I was blown away by how good it tasted. On top of that, it was in a crunchy, purple, "decked out" waffle cone that complimented the frozen flavors perfectly. The atmosphere inside is cozy and welcoming, with friendly staff, greeting you as you walk in and some bench seating outside as well as around the sides of the shopping center with picnic tables if you wanted to stay for a bit. We saw a few young families and pets out when we stopped by. You can also cross the street and take a walk through the park as we did to enjoy the warm weather and have no regrets from snacking down all the delicious ice cream lol. Excellent local ice cream place! They serve Hershey's Ice Cream and it's delicious. Their sundaes are generous - although I wish they did a Turtle Sundae (Vanilla Ice Cream, Hot Fudge & Caramel with Pecans), I manage (ha,ha,ha) with a regular hot fudge sundae & almonds. The ice cream is always fresh, no nasty ice crystals and plenty of toppings and options. The owner is super nice an his staff are always friendly and helpful. read more

This was tucked into a town center with a few tables outside. They seemed to serve Hershey's ice cream. They also had custom ice cream cakes, frozen yogurt and something called fusions. It was essentially soft serve ice cream with a fusion of hard ice cream or yogurt and two toppings. It was definitely an interesting choice. I just opted for a small cup of mint moose tracks. This was solid. It was not as creamy as I would have liked, but it still was tasty. The chocolate chips were a little too large. My favorite aspect were the fudge chunks. That went nicely with the mint flavor. I also tried the oatmeal cookie craving. It was not too bad. It tasted exactly like oatmeal with a hint of cinnamon present. Will I go back? First time here and no complaints! So many options but me and my partners when for simple scoops and they were both delicious! Lines are long, but that's just a sign that it's popular - and fortunately they move quickly. Our server was super efficient and we were in and out in less than 10 minutes. It's bright and cheerful inside. Maybe the establishment isn't large enough to accommodate the high volume but for now that doesn't seem to deter anyone! Looking forward to returning soon. read more

Homemade, family-owned, and they have so many flavors!! They vouched for over 30 flavors, and over 30 toppings. I believe we walked out with blackberry flavor and coffee flavored ice cream.. my goodness. Transported me back to the first time I ever had quality blackberry ice cream. Big portions. They don't skimp here. I also loved the variety of seating they provided. Cute, casual, minimalist vibes as the décor. Service was quick, even though there's a line on the Saturday afternoon we came. I also liked that they had a variety of toppings, types of cones, vegan options, etc. This adds to next level indecision if you're one of those people that gets overwhelmed by long ice cream menus... Wow. Yes. Who wouldn't want delicious Hershey's ice cream? I had ordered a custom ice cream birthday cake through their website and everyone loved it. Not only do they have way more options than I thought possible but it was very straight forward. The countless flavors, fillings, frostings, toppings and color options were very impressive and made it really special. During pickup the staff were polite and I was in and out in just a few minutes. Came in after looking at the website. Nice website btw. They have terrific ice cream flavors and SO many choices. Honestly had a hard time deciding! I got the oatmeal chocolate chip cookie ice cream and wow!!!! It was maybe some of the best ice cream I've ever had. Also they have those soft serve machines that can turn any of their ice cream flavors and toppings into magnificent soft serve! Endless possibilities. Small building, but good service and great picnic tables outside to sit at! Wish I took pics, but I'm sure we will be back.... soon! read more

This place is such a gem to have in Hillsborough. The ice cream is delicious. Staff is always friendly and it's so clean inside.

The Ice House is Hillsborough's newest Ice Cream Parlor. Based on their initial popularity, they're definitely here to stay. The shop itself is a tad small, but they have a very nice setup. The wooden bar tables are lovely and the selection of ice cream flavors is impressive. The Ice House offers some of the best vegan ice cream I've experienced to date. The vanilla is great and the chocolate isn't overly rich like many others I've had. Their "fusions" allow for tons of combinations to be made. My personal favorite is the vegan chocolate ice cream fusion with oreo and peanut butter. The staff is very polite and there is seating out front and around the side of the building if you're looking to enjoy your ice cream outdoors. They also have a solid social media team. The Ice House is quickly becoming my go-to for delicious ice cream in town and I encourage everyone to give them a try. read more

Me and the boyfriend get ice cream here (more than I'd like to admit) and it's our fav ice cream spot in town. Their H.E.S fusion is just TOOOOO good. Their serving sizes are generous (a medium fusion usually lasts me 2-3 servings) and I love that you can order ahead on their app. Next time you want a delicious treat, check this spot out! read more

Rude and no customer service! The Ice House requires 3 days notice for an ice cream cake on a weekend. We were aware of this and attempted to order a cake online Wednesday night. The website would not let us order it, and so we decided to go to the store Thursday when they opened. We explained the situation and the owner absolutely refused to help us. He basically said tough, you should have ordered it sooner. Luckily another ice cream shop in town saved the day and worked with us to get a cake ready for the weekend. From now on we'll be taking our business elsewhere! read more

The Ice House has been a particularly welcome treat this hot, humid 90 degrees summer! They serve Hershey's ice cream here and have so many flavor options and toppings options!! There is something for any type of flavor mood here! The place is small, and without much ambiance to sit inside and enjoy your ice cream, but there are some picnic tables outside. If there are no open tables, you are sort of stuck with the scenery of a parking lot. Not a huge deal though, since you've got some good ice cream to focus on :) overall, I don't think the quality of the ice cream is the best I've ever had, but it's super convenient and had tons of options, so I can see this being a regular stop all summer long! read more

The ice cream I tried was so good. My son like coming to Hillsborough. He plays football and my challenge was that if he scored I would treat him to ice cream. He scored twice so he was able to get two scoops. Lol!!! read more

I have been looking for a good ice cream place in the area and this is it. There are a few other well reviewed or recommended places in the area, but this is the one that actually lives up to its reviews. Their flavors are fantastic. You can tell immediately that they make their ice cream in house and aren't just buying it from a distributor. They are always adding new flavors and have at least one new one a month. If you have disappointed by what you have near you, this place is worth the drive. read more

The ice cream and service were fine. I'd say definitely go and check it out but it was a little pricey, would recommend Super Sundaes for more accommodations and options. Overall not bad but in no rush to go back, super sundaes is a tad bit cheaper too read more
