Unfortunately it wasn't anywhere near as good as I remembered it to be. It wasn't "bad" but it definitely wasn't very good. My boyfriend got the Caesar salad with steak and was really unhappy with his order. This location serves it well, its in the heart of downtown Decatur and they have a great outdoor patio. Love this place! Menu offers a pretty decent variety of items and most items are relatively healthy. The food tastes good and is made to order. I like the fast casual concept - not as quick (or unhealthy) as a fast-food restaurant but not nearly as long as a sit-down restaurant. I like the appetizer dishes. The salmon along with a bowl of soup makes a pretty good meal. The soup comes with a delicious croissant roll. The blackened shrimp is tasty but a bit on the salty side. It is good if you eat it with salad or carbs. The steak sandwich is also very good. The mushroom soup is also on the salty side. The tortilla soup is good but I think it is better without all of the tortilla strips. Kids meals include chicken strips/tenders, mac n cheese, fruit. Both the entrees and sides are good. read more

One of my favorite spots to eat. Mainly for the calamari alone. Great dishes that put a fresher spin on traditional dishes. Depending on location will determine your freshness. I have been ordering the fig salad every day until today, and the food has been five stars until today it's just one star . Tonight I wanted to add feta in addition to the blue cheese but they only gave me feta. While ordering I picked feta cheese in the extra menu but didn't select "no blue cheese" so I don't know why that was so confusing. Also, tonight the salad was all lettuce. there weren't as many figs, raisins, nuts, or cheese at all. I wonder if they use a measuring device when making these salads or just eyeball it. and for some reason they didn't remove the stems from the figs either. I was disappointed. read more

Will NEVER do a To go order at this location again. 3 TIMES my to go orders have been wrong. It's just 2 half salads and a half bowl of soup. First! There needs to be an update on the website where customers can "order" a half salad and the "chicken" as the topping/second item without charging. It's on the menu but NOT as an option to select without charging extra. Therefore, I have to call it in and I don't like that. Second! 3rd time calling in my orders, they mess up the charge of the topping, and for some reason the salmon is always missing from the second half salad. It's strange, but all 3 times I went to pick up my order, I saw that I was NOT the only customer having an issue with my ToGo orders with missing toppings/ or wrong order. I'm glad this location is doing well with business but they need to get there ToGo orders right. I don't want refunds, I want the order I asked AND repeated over the phone to be right. read more

Of course I rolled my eyes and said "here we go", when I saw the sign, Fresh To Order, and saw the reviews that said how fresh it was. So I was skeptical when I went in and checked them out. Here to say I was pleasantly surprised! From the second I walked in the door to start my to go order, I was greeted with welcomes and a menu was offered to me. Whenever I had questions, including how something tasted, I was given samples. I can't speak on table side service since this was not a dine in lunch, but Very awesome, attentive crew otherwise! I did order their half salad/half soup combo ($11.30 after tax) and specifically got their 1/2 chicken tortilla soup and a Mediterranean salad with chicken as protein, with a raspberry vinaigrette. The soup, was super flavorful, and I knew from the first sample spoonful that I was going to order it. Filled with hearty servings of carrot, celery, chicken, onion, and tortilla strips were also very fresh and crispy. The salad WAS fresh! No wilted spinach, no mushy anything...i loved every bite of it, from the crispy almonds to the flavorful and fresh blue cheese. The raspberry vinaigrette was a little sweeter than what I was used to, but the savory flavors of the salad balanced it out. Located at the corner of ponce de Leon and church street, there's very limited street parking in front. This is Decatur though, so you probably already know the parking deal...i.e. there is parking along the streets in other areas and parking garages all over that you have to pay for (unless its the weekend or its after 6pm). Ordered lentil soup and Caesar salad. The lentil soup was flavorless. The Caesar dressing tasted like pure salt. Unfortunately, I made this discovery after I poured, or shall I say spread, the very thick dressing all over the salad. The dressing is super thick and incredibly salty. I had their Smokey southwest chicken panini with mashed potatoes & it was pretty good. I also tried their crispy chicken panini and that was good as well, I actually liked it better than the Smokey southwest panini. I would advise ordering a sauce on the side for the paninis because they're rather dry. I dipped the crispy chicken panini into bbq sauce and ranch for the southwest chicken panini although the southwest panini comes with an orange chipotle sauce. We are from Nashville TN and were visiting ATL/Decatur for a couple of days. My wife is originally from Decatur and I'm from NYC, but lived in Dunwoody for 9 years. After a very hectic and long drive in, we were really hungry and saw the words 'Fine Food Fast' so decided to give it a try. We are so glad that we did. FRESH TO ORDER features an imaginative menu that lives up to their slogan. The food was freshly made and delicious. My wife had the Salmon and I had the Chicken skewers. Simply awesome!!!! We chatted with the manager, Theodore to let him know how impressed we were with the food, the venue and his staff. In a world filled with big box institutional food and overpriced restaurants serving food of marginal quality, this was truly a welcome change. Service was mediocre, and it seemed like the person who helped us did not care to be there. Fresh To Order is one of my favorite places. They are sort of a fast food restaurant but with quality food and meals. This place is not expensive but it is also not inexpensive. A good meal with run you between $11 and $15. I have had everything on their menu but I will tell you some favorites of mine and some friends who I brought there. I love the curry chicken, the prime steak, chicken skewers, Calamari and my friends love their bison burger. Their fountain drinks are amazing and make in house and their bakery is great. BEST FOOD AND SERVICE! Nowadays it is so hard to find a restaurant that can be good at both but the manager and servers were amazing and kind. We're always in downtown Decatur but never went to Fresh To Order. This was our very first time here and the o only regret I have is not going sooner! Jaron, the manager, is exactly who you would want to be greeted by, especially as a first timer. He took his time and broke down the whole menu for us. Josh brought our food out and was the epitome of amazing service. The food came out a little slow but it was a technical error and definitely worth the wait! They didn't ignore us, they came out and gave us updates regularly and even offered us drinks for the wait. They definitely made us forever customers here!! I have been twice now, so I feel ready to write the review. I'd like to give 4.5 stars, because there are a couple of suggestions, but hey, that's not an option. On my first trip, the manager greeted me at the door and explained the concept: fine dining quality food without the price or the table service. Interesting. OK, let's see! I had a 1/2 bowl of mushroom soup and the blue cheese / fig salad. Both were magnificent. I was blown away by how good it, was....it WAS like fine dining food, even though I was staring right at a fountain drink machine in a fast-food atmosphere! The staff was very friendly, although a tad confused on a couple of points during the ordering process. It's early days, so I chalked this up to training. This trip, I got the Asian salad with a 1/2 bowl of chicken vegetable soup. Both were good, but not as good as the first day. The salad seemed just a tad less fresh, and the soup just wasn't as yummy as the mushroom one. They have just gotten an app up and running, so I was offered a $3 off my check if I downloaded the app and paid through it. Which I did, but then the $3 did not come off the check. I forgot about that until later, so I just let it go. The cashier also did not know how to handle checking me out through the app. I would think that the APP REPRESENTATIVE greeting everyone as they came through the door would have taken care of this. The tipping situation is beyond ambiguous. Really? You suggest a 25% tip when I order at the counter and get my own drink in a plastic cup? I think not. I hope those food runners are not getting the shaft. Anyway, the food is good and I certainly plan to fill up my Loyalty Card. They have some good looking paninis on that menu, but I doubt I will ever NOT get the mushroom soup again, it was that good. It's cold now, but their patio is quite charming with its bright green astroturf, so I plan to enjoy some of their self-pour wine out there when the weather gets nicer. I hope they have gazpacho in the summer time. And this may be the concept that actually makes it in that inexplicably cursed building. read more

If you're not familiar with F2O, it's a regional chain of fast casual restaurant with a large menu of panini and salads, along with appetizers, soups, and entrees. You order at the counter, get a number, and your food is brought to your table. This location just opened and my SO and I happened to be craving salad. Off to F2O! I had the 1/2 Market salad with a 1/2 bowl of creamy chicken vegetable soup. My SO had a full Mediterranean salad and added fire-grilled chicken. Everything was very good, as it's always been at every location. So here are some bullet points on what I really enjoy about F2O, and this location in particular: - One of their salad dressing options is lemon with herbs! I was so happy to discover this because I hate vinegar and didn't want a creamy dressing. Simple, healthy, and delicious. - They've got a PYOB (pour your own booze) system going on here that is pretty cool. Essentially you buy a card with a monetary value ($6, 12, 18), active it at the DIY station, and pour to your heart's content (or your card's limit)! - I will warn you, though, that whether you pick Sweetwater 420 or Miller High Life, you'll get the same amount for the price you paid. So...don't come here and order a draft High Life. - There is also bottled booze, as well as bottled water and fancy sodas like Izze and Dr. Brown's. Yum! - Oh yes, and they have dessert options (which shockingly, I have not tried) like mini icebox pies, cookies, and brownies. - The patio is awesome and a loooong sliding glass door means a big open space that blends together indoor and outdoor areas. - Service is attentive and enthusiastic. - On their website, you can look up nutrition information and they have a nifty little calculator, so you can add up multiple items!
