Smooth on the spoon with that soft creamy finish that makes soup feel a little luxurious instead of just warm. The feta on top cut through it nicely. Salty. Tangy. A little flash of brightness in every bite. It gave comfort with some polish. Like rainy day food that still has good posture. The almond croissant was the one. Golden edges. A soft shatter on the outside. Then that dense almond center that lands sweet, nutty, and almost plush. The powdered sugar on top made it feel a little extra in the best way. Not too precious. Not too sugary. Just enough to make it feel bakery serious. The kind of pastry that makes you pause after the first bite because now everybody else at the table wants some. The tea was better than good. Clean. Smooth. Calming in a way that made everything else settle into place. It felt intentional. Not an afterthought. Definitely the standout and the easiest thing to come back for. Forgot her name, but the woman helping me order was a lifesaver. Honest. Adorable. Knew how to guide without hovering. Gave the kind of recommendation you trust immediately. The room had that easy café buzz. Warm lighting. People lingering. Felt relaxed without losing its shape. it's giving... quiet luxury brunch energy due to the vibe she gave. Coming back.

It had the same…read moreauthentic, small cafe charm that I remembered from a prior visit years ago, but in a nice touch it was also all decked out for the holiday. As many restaurants do for Valentine's Day, they offered a prix fixe menu including a starter (wonderful chestnut soup), main (we chose a savory crepe with sautéed chicken), and dessert (a light raspberry puff pastry). Each course was delicious and accented by additional Valentine's touches (see photos). I'm not an expert on French cuisine but I can say the food is reminiscent of meals I've enjoyed traveling in France. Service was on point and we were well taken care of throughout the night with each course arriving in a timely manner. Note they do not have parking or valet, so if you make a reservation allow time to find a parking spot in downtown Decatur (some of the public garages are quite pricey so a short walk is worthwhile). Cafe Alsace offers a delicious meal in a romantic setting, so give them a try if you want a can't-miss date night.

We ended up taking one of the last tables, so I would definitely recommend getting here earlier in the night! We started with the bread and cheese board and tbh that was definitely the worst part of the night. I ended up not being a fan of 3/4 cheese, but I did really enjoy the bread. I had the beef bourguignon for my main while my fiance had the ratatouille with sausage. Out of the two, the beef bourguignon was the favorite! We ended the night with a crème brûlée that was really good. There's a lot of character in cafe Alsace and it's a very cute place for date night, and I'd definitely come back if I'm ever craving French food.

We visited on a Saturday morning and were immediately seated as a party of 5, which we were surprised by considering the people in front of us were given a wait time. The vibe of the space gives off European chic and made the experience even more enjoyable. I ordered an iced vanilla latte, which was decent. I really enjoyed the American Omelette. I also tried a side of the French toast to satisfy my sweet tooth, which was decent and got the job done (but nothing super memorable). Overall, all of the food was a hit amongst our table. Our server was very kind, attentive, and answered all of our questions. Overall, I highly recommend visiting Cafe Intermezzo!

Food- I ordered a Belgium waffle with coconut mango, which was basically a waffle with powdered sugar, mango jam, and coconut flakes. The waffle was hot, crispy, delicious. The jam was sweet but tasted a bit generic and could have easily been mistaken for peach jam. The mango flavor just wasn't very apparent. It was good but not memorable and overall it was very one note and too sweet. I think the usage of fresh mango and a coconut cream, or a crunchy coconut flake, and an herb such as basil mint or thyme would have really elevated this. I also tried their spicy tortellini. This was good, the portion is nice, the temperature was piping hot, the tortellini had a good bite and texture. Where it lacked was in flavor and dimension. Again, it tasted like very one note and the cream and cheese and pasta just all kind of blend into one experience in a very bland way. There wasn't no variety in texture or flavor, no pops of color, no sense of fresh herbs or citrus, no differentiating textures. Overall, with what limited portion of the menu I tried, I wouldn't return for these items. They were just okay and they didn't perform to the level I expected for such a well known cafe in Atlanta.

You can gain entry by using the backdoor garage entry or the entry near their patio area. Unfortunately, when I visited it was pouring and I didn't realize that the former was possible, leaving me to fight the rain once I found the patio entry. Foxtail is not a huge space but they offer a number of slim tables, barstools and two different seating areas with big, comfy chairs. It was easy to grab a seat, even with an 11am rush. There only 2-3 team members working, but they were all very nice and so patient as I stared at the menu with indecisiveness. The menu offered a variety of teas and coffees, along with a display of pastries and a number of sandwich options. After seeing that they served banana matcha, I had to see if I could add banana flavor to my latte - I could! So I started with a banana latte with oat milk + a ham, cheese and egg croissant. My latte was so delicious, I went back for a 2nd cup not too long after. My croissant was delicious as well. This is really a great place to do some remote work or to conduct meetings. The wifi was easy to connect to and I was able to get so much work done in the peaceful coffee shop as the rain poured down outside. Definitely a nice cafe to spend a day at!
