Really good poke. I've enjoyed every bowl I've had from here but I'm obsessed with the power ginger bowl with tofu. The tofu is so flavorful! Flavorful tofu is hard to find in Madison. I like to do the build your own bowl option, too. So many amazing, fresh ingredients! The truffle crab salad isn't for me, though. The inside of the place is kind of cute, with the fish swimming on the ceiling, and always very clean. Service is good. read more

I absolutely love FreshFin - it is one of my go-to lunch spots in Madison. The rainbow bowl is absolutely delicious and I have always found the ingredients to be super fresh and tasty. The portions are plentiful (even when ordering a regular bowl) and I definitely feel like I am getting my money's worth for a delicious bowl of poke. Good food, but awful service. Always takes 40 minutes to prepare the order and ALWAYS forgets something. They forget requested items consistently; today I added extra tuna for +$1.50, and instead I received none! I'm impressed. I had never had Poke before coming here but I loved my first experience! In fact, I liked it so much that I brought my wife back a second time in the same week. The portions are satisfyingly big and the flavors are great. First trip, I got the regular sized Spicy Tuna bowl (fantastic). For the second, my wife and I shared a regular Kailani with shrimp. Both were awesome. Spicy Tuna will probably be my go-to. I also appreciate the different rice seasonings that they provide. So, although I can't compare FreshFin Poke to other Poke places, I don't feel like I need to. The food was fresh, beautiful and delicious. I am visiting from out of town and this restaurant was right across the street from my hotel so I thought I'd give it a try. I ended up walking in and doing a build your own bowl and the gentleman behind the counter helped me select a whole bunch of goodies for my bowl. I got my food to go and unfortunately when I got back up to my hotel room there was no chicken in my bowl. The bowl was still very good and the service was great but unfortunately -2 stars since my bowl was missing chicken. read more

This is my favorite poké place! My favorite here is the spicy tuna bowl, last time I was here with friends, they all ordered different bowls and they were all very good as well! Very flavorful and great texture with the toppings. They also provide soy sauce, sriracha and seaweed flakes for additional dressing if needed. This place is still as good as ever and probably the restaurant I'll miss the most as I move away! Since my initial review, management has added tasty cold pressed juices and desserts. They've also solidified their loyalty program. I've gone so many times that I've earned 4 or 5 free regularly sized poke bowls. The ingredients are fresh as ever and the sauces are soooo good. Staying at Hampton Inn - looking for healthy lunch options. FreshFin was a Yelp recommendation with great reviews, and it lived up to expectations. Base options include brown rice and greens - two different options which can be combined. Excellent base choice. I had the pork (sorry don't recall the menu name) with diced mango and radish. Very good. Were I a local rather than a parent of UW students, I would try adding more flavoring - seemed to be a menu option. It could perhaps have been a bit spicier - would have liked to have a condiment station where I could have chosen sauces. read more

SO AWESOME! You can basically get whatever combination of protein, veggies, toppings and sauces you want over your choice of rice or greens. The variety of options and the freshness of ingredients is amazing. If you are not a fish person, they also have chicken and tofu. Our bowls were delicious! Poke is my forte. That rhymed. I'm a genius. FreshFin ain't really my forte. You walk in to a gorgeous wooded restaurant smelling of garlic, ginger, and susu. The staff took a few minutes to realize my presence. As I was ordering, I was cut off by questions very quickly as if I've been to this brand new restaurant 100x. Relaaaxxxxx..... Received my food rather quickly. Nom nom nom... salt. Ouch. You can always add salt, but can't take it away. And I'm not about to throw a potato in my bowl. Cool place, poor service, decent food. I work on State St and actually had one of their employees walk into our store with a box full of Poke meals for us. They were new to the city and wanted to spread the word about who they were, where they were, and what they had to offer. It was my first experience with Poke overall, but I was pleasantly surprised and everything about the experience definitely left a positive impression on me. The food was very fresh and really well prepared, I tried the curried shrimp option and was super satisfied. I hate raw food, but they have cooked options! I usually get the Curry Coconut Chicken in the regular size and it's the perfect amount for me to feel full all while getting a bang for my buck. Wow! I completely got my money's worth. I'm a huge sushi fan and I may have fallen in love. I ordered the large spicy tuna bowl with brown rice. The tuna tasted perfect and was soft. The creamy sauce and spice from the jalapeños were the perfect combination and heat. Even the rice was cooked perfectly. Normally I'd have to order 2 sushi rolls to feel as full as I am now. I've had FreshFin both as dine in and take out. Dining in, I got a regular bowl, and was very pleased with the ingredient quality, the sauces and the size. For take out, I wanted to share a dish, so ordered a large version of the same bowl. The large size for take out was probably the same size as the regular for dining in. So consider this when deciding on how much to order. Otherwise, the food was still fresh and tasty. A great option for when I'm wanting something that is both fast and also healthful. As a non-fish eater I love that this place has chicken options. Then I'm able to go when people want the fish dishes and still eat! I originally tried the chicken bowl with edamame and carrots and it was good. THEN my friend told me to try the chicken curry bowl and it was life changing. Hands down my favorite item on the menu. I tried out the newest Poke restaurant in Madison and there is clearly a new champion. Easily the best in Poke I have had in town or elsewhere. The quality of the fish is head and shoulders above what you find at many places and the sauces are perfectly balanced to showcase the flavors of the bowl. So far I have had the Spicy Tuna and the Mango Tango(Salmon). Highly recommend both and I plan to work my way through the rest of the signature bowls. read more

Second day in-a-row at FreshFin Poké! This is the Curry Coconut Shrimp bowl and it is incredible!!! It's got the perfect amount of crunch in each bite and a lil spicy kick to it. It's so flavorful and I'm especially impressed with the shrimp -- suuuuper juicy!! Also, they put a TON of shrimp in the bowl, so you're totally getting your $'s worth. Lastly, I want to mention how tasty the pineapple, carrot, beet, and lime juice is. Delicious for a snowy day in Wisconsin. Now I feel like I'm on a tropical island! Well done, FreshFin Poké!
