    Pepperoni and chicken bbq pizza

After gallivanting downtown on a friday night, I was ready to head home taking the bus at stop 50095. The bus was delayed. Felt tired and hungry and didn't want to cook at home or bother looking for a place to eat. Right there conveniently at the bus stop is this pizza place. The place is unusually clean for small restaurants downtown so I went in. They have several choices what seems to be fresh from the oven. Ordered 2 slices of pizza with a drink all for over $8 including taxes. It was good enough. I didn't mind staying as I've said the place was clean. The employee was personable and nice. She even placed it on a plate, not paper plates like all the other pizza places do. I don't mind coming to this place as I routinely take the bus in front for that quick bite! Normally you don't expect much, but it's good enough for those lazy, tired evenings and you just want something fast and easy!

Definitely a fan for a NY slice. There was a large number of full pizzas precooked, available for quick reheating, each slice (regardless of toppings) being $3.75 CAD. The attendant quickly reheated the slice in a electric oven, and we took it back to our hotel room. There are a lot of deals for full pizzas, and a full 12" any toppings is under $10 CAD. I wasn't that hungry, so settled for a slice combo with pepperoni, sausage, green pepper, onion, and mushroom. Everything was fresh, not canned. Cheese was skimpy, but that's not atypical for a NY slice. The slice is not large, 1/8 of a 14 inch pizza, so probably need two to satisfy. The sauce was slightly sweet, and the crust had decent chew. It's a good pizza, especially for a late night muchie break.

It's a two-story space off of Hastings with a bar downstairs that has table seating and a somewhat quieter upstairs dining area where the kitchen is. I prefer the upstairs area, but both are fine. Don't be misled by the fact that reservations for the bar don't mean that you have to sit at the bar. It could mean anywhere in the downstairs area. The menu is a combination of surprisingly upscale food and straightforward dishes such as pizza, but the pizza is just not ordinary pizza, even though it's reasonably priced. In fact, it's one of the best pizzas in Vancouver. The appetizers are varied and extraordinary. We had the hamachi, which let the fish shine through, and the kanpachi, which was a complex preparation that we particularly enjoyed. Another surprise was the cauliflower hummus, which was much more layered and intricate than you might expect. Service was excellent, and there is a thoughtful wine list plus an enormous selection of liquors such as whiskies and even Amaro. In fact, they have tasting flights of different whiskies and Amaro, which I always particularly appreciate.

Woefully sub-average. It is best I can describe this place…read more Entered the place on a Monday afternoon whilst three East Indian men chillaxing in the dining area. They quickly jumped at my presence and returned to their stations as if they're caught slacking off. First idea was to order a deep dish but a few moments later upon entry I decided otherwise. I opted for 2 slices and a pop. Meatloaf and cheese. The sever didn't bother to warm them. They were dry and like old pizzas. Taste is okay/sub/average considering the price but very unlikely I will return.

I didn't have very high expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised by the pizzas here. They offer a variety of veggie and meat pizzas that can be made with regular crust or deep dish style. We ordered a small deep dish margharita ($19.99) and a medium deep dish butter chicken ($23.99) pizza. Both weren't true deep dish pizzas, but the crust was nice and thick. I'd recommend the pizzas here to anyone who likes a breadier crust. My only minor complaint is that the pizzas didn't have enough sauce to complement the thick crust. The pizzas kept well for leftovers too. They tasted just as good the next day heated up in our toaster oven.
