I've had around three sets of truck tires installed at Fresno Tire Co over the years, and each experience has been noticeably worse than the last. What used to be a dependable shop has turned into constant delays, poor communication, and unrealistic time estimates. Even simple flat repairs became frustrating -- I'd call ahead, be told "30 minutes," then end up sitting there for two hours. This most recent experience destroyed any trust I had left in this shop. I originally had a quote elsewhere for $1,158 out the door for tires. Fresno Tire Co quoted me $1,143, but then added an extra $18 tax charge at checkout that was never mentioned beforehand, meaning they didn't even beat the competitor's price. I should have gone with the company that was upfront from the beginning. I called Friday to confirm the tires were in stock, called again the day before my appointment, and dropped my truck off before they even opened so they'd have the entire day for a simple tire install and alignment. I over-communicated specifically to avoid this kind of situation. Then at 3 PM they called asking whether I wanted the white or black side of the tires facing out, which made it obvious the work had barely started and there was realistically no chance the truck would be finished by closing. At no point did anyone communicate delays or mention they didn't even have an alignment tech available. Instead, it felt like they were trying to lock me into the tire install so I couldn't back out at that stage. The alignment was especially important because I had just installed new shocks and didn't want to destroy brand-new tires driving home with a bad alignment. Because of that, I had no choice but to leave the truck there overnight for a second day. On day two, I received another call around 3 PM saying the truck was finally on the alignment rack, followed almost immediately by another update claiming it had just returned from a test drive. None of the timeline ever made sense. The worst part was dealing with the service advisor/manager. Every update felt made up: first the truck was coming off the alignment rack, then it had just returned from a test drive, then suddenly they were heating frozen bolts "for hours," which was supposedly the reason the alignment took so long. It constantly felt like salesman-style excuses instead of honest communication. On top of that, he interrupted me and literally said, "I'm going to stop you right there," which was incredibly disrespectful considering how patient I had been and how many opportunities I gave them to make things right. After keeping my truck for two full days for what should have been a one-day appointment, they returned it pulling hard to the right with the brake, ABS, and traction/VSC lights all illuminated while still insisting the alignment was "great" and the truck drove fine. I had to immediately turn around and bring it back within minutes of leaving. Only then did they refund the alignment. I even called the following day hoping to speak with the owner and give the shop one last opportunity to address everything professionally. Unfortunately, it was more of the same. Instead of actually listening to my concerns as a longtime customer, I was constantly interrupted and talked over. At that point it became clear the problem wasn't just the poor workmanship or delays -- it was the complete lack of respect and accountability shown throughout the entire experience. What finally confirmed everything for me was taking the truck to another shop that actually cared about doing the job correctly. They immediately noticed Fresno Tire Co had balanced the tires improperly. Two wheels had roughly 16 wheel weights stacked on them, looked terrible, and even had mismatched black and silver weights. The new shop explained that Fresno Tire Co should have rotated the tire on the wheel to achieve a better balance instead of just piling on excessive weights. After properly balancing them, the new shop only needed around 3-5 weights per wheel. The biggest issue now is trust. From the first phone call to the final pickup, I felt misled, disrespected, and treated like a fool. I gave them communication, flexibility, and plenty of time, and somehow got my truck back in worse condition than when I dropped it off. I used to trust this shop, but after this experience I can no longer recommend Fresno Tire Co to anyone. Avoid this place. read more

He was able to get me in last minute without prior appointment and very thorough in explaining every detail of the service and even gave me a complimentary tire rotation as a first time customer! Recently bought a civic that had some wobble issues. The owner checked and immediately noticed a static balance issue with the rims. After trying to balance them they figured it was a bent rim. Reschedule another appointment with the owner right after to have new tires and rims mounted and installed. Only waited a little over an hour and the cost was really good, no alignment was needed. Fresno Tire is truly a unique repair shop focused on customer service (they are looking for repeat business!). I had the best experience with them. I worked with Bryan and Wesley of the shop. They are completely honest and provide highly competitive prices for tires and service. I had some AC service needed and they inspected and advised me to use the Honda Dealership to service because of Honda offered an extended warranty on the vehicle for AC issues. This saved me $$, whereas other shops may just gone ahead and completed the work. They supported through the way - even helped me to negotiate better service costs at Honda! (yes, who does that!) They reviewed some of the service from a Toyota dealership that I had on a newer car and let me know that all that work was routine and that I should not have spent $800 and that they missed a recommended 30K service. (I will have Fresno Tire do all routine services for this from this point forward). Basically, they helped with service, repair, and tire service on 3 of my vehicles. I worked in the auto industry for about 15 years mainly dealerships so I know an honest shop when I see one. Brian and the whole fresno tire co employee are TOP NOTCH. I came in for an alignment on my 2014 traverse after having my front suspension replaced. First off the price was extremely fair. $115 for a 4wheel alignment is a deal in my books. They even ran a code scanner to make sure all my fault codes had cleared. I left the lot with my car pulling to the left. Brian told me to bring back after an appointment I had. They rotated the tires hoping it would correct the pull however with my luck it didnt help. They took a further look and the technician Albert showed me the sway bar link bushings were shot and he was 99% sure that's where the problem came from. I automatically thought OMG this is gonna cost a fortune because im use to dealership pricing. Brian got me a quote and I couldn't believe $180 was all it was gonna cost me. They gave me and my son a ride home worked on my car first thing the next morning and she was ready to go before 11. I was able to pay via text link and arrange an after hours pick up. I've been to Fresno Tire twice now for leaks in my tires. 1st was a bead leak, 2nd was a broken valve core. Both times they fixed it without charging me a dime. I came for an oil change on my very old secondhand car. After a very thorough inspection, they found that my air filters were dirty and there was some corrosion around my battery. He let me know what the total cost would be if we were to go through with getting those replaced today, but he didn't push or coerce me to to get it done immediately. I decided to get the filters and battery replaced, and he let me know that they would replace my headlight lamps as well for free! An honest auto shop! First time I went there for an alignment, they told me that they didn't want to do an alignment because down the long road, my car will still be bad (my car was old and in bad shape). They said they don't want to, because I would still need to replace both struts and all tires for the alignment to work properly. So they said that they will still do it if I want them to. I really appreciated their honesty, so I took my car back at home. Second time I went there but it was for my husband's car alignment. They took the car into the shop and was done within 10 minutes! I am always skeptical of mechanic shops, but these are solid people. I ran over a toe hitch on the freeway traveling back to Orange County from Yosemite. They could have easily taken advantage of the situation with me being from out of town, but instead were nothing but helpful. Their head mechanic was competent and knowledgeable. They have a comfortable waiting room which was nice to hang out in while I dealt with my insurance.
