The food here at Freudy's is very good and the service was solid. My wife and I sat at the bar and even though it was busy, we felt that we were attended to quickly. An incorrect order was brought out for my wife but it was corrected right away. I had a craving for a burger that was hit perfectly and the Jalapeño Mac was definitely a side choice that I would get again. The only downside is when you first walk in you enter into a part of the restaurant that has seen better days. It almost seems like you are walking into a shut down half of the restaurant named Samantha's ? Unsure of the backstory there but then you are sat on the other side with the bar which is separate and well put together. I hope the other side can get a face lift and the whole thing can be Freudy's because the food was worth it. read more

Dave gave me static when I first ate there, last August, due to the fact I did not get his signature dish - the Pork Chop (I had the Tomahawk). I've eaten their regular over my months of travel there, and yes - the Pork Chop is outstanding. But so is their Tomahawk, only offered on specials. Great local joint - highly recommend! read more

This was our first time visiting this establishment which was a Friday night. Getting inside was a little awkward as it is joined with Samantha's Restaurant and you had to enter there and walk over to the Freudy's side. We were taken to a High Top table. All tables were High Tops or you could sit at the Bat. I'm not a fan of High Top tables but the seats were padded and comfortable. We were given waters pretty quick and asked for our drink order. The service was amazing we were warmly greeted by our first host and served by Sebastian who was amazing. He explained everything to us. I ordered a Guinness with a chilled glass, but I don't think that they do chilled glasses so my bottled beer was just so so related to temperature. The complimentary bread was nice and crusty and served with butter and flavored olive oil. The calamari as an appetizer was just okay. The breading was thicker than normal and seemed to be the same that the fried Walleye Finger breading was. It needed a dipping sauce so perhaps I ordered the wrong one as the other Parmesan dusted has a sauce I believe. The Walleye Fingers were good, but I only had one bite as my mouthful had 3 small bones in it. No biggie. My wife ordered her Filet Mignon (well done) and wanted it butterflied. It was not butterflied but was cooked to temperature surprisingly. She liked it. My Pork Chop was very good and tasted like it was brined and had nice grill marks on it. Went to Freddy's on a Saturday night for dinner and sat at the bar. You can make reservations for the bar which is highly recommended as it fills up fast. Food was good, staff friendly. The bar tender was awesome. She is one of those rare service people that can socialize, get you a drink and hand clear another customer at the same time. There is no large outside sign for Freudy's. It is in the same spot as Samantha's. As others have said this is a hidden gem. read more

This is a fun little secret. Kind of neat that you have to enter in through Samantha's to get to the restaurant. The staff is very attentive, the food is amazing, and the people watching is great! We went here on a recommendation from a friend, and we will be back! COVID protocol and whatnot...yeah there was that. Reservations are a must! This place would be great for small groups after COVID, but due to the tables being spaced out, you really can only fit 1 maybe 2 small groups (6-8) at a time. So until then, perfect date night place! My wife had their pork chop, and I wish we would have ordered 2! I had the maple glazed salmon and I really liked it but didn't love it. Purely personal preference, as it was a bit sweet due to the maple glaze, but I ate it all. Quite tasty, and if you like a bit of sweet with your meal, YES order this. DE-LISH! This is a hidden gem. Locals know that you can start with a great breakfast at their sister restaurant, Samantha's (which is co-located), and come back for an AWESOME dinner next door at Freudy's. The dinner location has high top tables and a very nice long bar. It's a really nice atmosphere that feels clean and upscale. First of all the bread is delicious. You know you're at a good restaurant when they have really good fresh bread !! If you're dining there for the first time, I recommend at least one person gets the pork chop. It is absolutely delicious! keep in mind you all may be fighting for it if there's only one at the table! I haven't had everything on the menu, but I can tell you that all three of us had amazing meals last night (June 2022). My husband had the pork chop which was cooked to perfection - it was juicy and delicious. (Picture attached) I had the side salad which may not appear to be much, but it was really tasty. We shared the shaved Brussel sprouts and the creamy risotto which were both delicious. My mother had the salmon with the pecan topping, side of asparagus. It was moist and tasty. She loved it! For dessert we shared a really decadent slice of peanut butter pie. Thank goodness I was forced to share it with two other people or I would've eaten the whole thing!! Definitely worth every calorie ... creamy and delicious. Our waiter, Anthony was wonderful! Very knowledgeable about the menu, very friendly, had a great personality and took very good care of us. I went there a couple nights ago for first time. I was pleasantly surprised pleased. The strip steaks were cooked and seasoned to perfection. My hubby got the pork chop and loved it. I also ordered the jalapeno Mac and cheese. We all had a great meal. I would come back over and over. The lighting was perfect for a relaxing dinner. The whole vibe of the restaurant was quaint and pleasing. Ask the waiter as soon as you sit down for pre dinner bread. We had none while we waited for dinners. It's awesome. My absolute favorite place to go for a steak in the area. They have a flat iron that is a fan favorite. Last night their Specials had three more amazing cuts of beef as well. When you order your dinner make sure to say YES to having the side salad and make sure to get the house dressing. It's a simple honey lemon vinaigrette on a perfectly simple salad of Romaine lettuce, dried cranberries, toasted almonds and fresh cheese. And to top it off, the bread is freshly made and served warm! Freudy's is also known for their seafood and an amazing pork chop! Sides like risotto and Dave's hash browns along with the asparagus! Ugh my taste buds can't take it - you'll want one of everything! But what there's more! Their bartenders make yummy cocktails and ensure you're happy with them. I got a martini that was a little too sweet and our waitress could tell right away.(who would have thought champagne and vanilla vodka would be so sweet- haha). Had a wonderful first experience here on Saturday! They squeezed us in to a cancelled reservation. The martinis were perfect and the food was divine. We started with the shrimp bruschetta. It's a twist on the traditional- shrimp in a creamy white sauce served with garlic bread. Yummo! We ordered the pork chop and filets for dinner. Both were seasoned and cooked to perfection. We knew we had to leave by a certain time for the reservation behind us and unfortunately our waiter got hit with an 8 top near the end of our service which left us in a rush for desert. Otherwise service was good. We shared a piece of their decadent PB pie for desert. Crunchy crust layered with creamy PB filling and a decadent chocolate ganache top. To die for! I've been twice, and each visit was different. During my first visit, our server said he'd never really eaten the food and couldn't recommend anything. Going off the info from our local newspapers restaurant review, I tried the rocket (hot pepper stuffed with cheese and cubed meat, battered and fried) and the grilled salad. Both were amazing. Like I've talked about them many times! When I brought my husband back, we both sat at the bar and were among the regulars. We ordered the same, along with the fried cheese appetizer (average) and my husband had a burger which was good. Anyway, go and try the rocket and the grilled romaine salad! One of the best restaurants in North Canton (or Canton in general). Small spot, the staff is attentive. Only high top tables which can be a deterrent for some. They are known for their French cut bone in pork chop... served medium, and it's fantastic. Upgrade to Dave's signature hash browns and you won't be disappointed. Food always comes out hot and the flavors are great. My dad is hard to please but he is always satisfied when he comes here. Overall this is a fantastic small restaurant. A cozy dining room and bar area mixed with very friendly service makes this one of our local favorite dining experiences. The food is very good, with our favorites being their ultra tender Prime Pork Chop and the grilled to perfection Flat Iron Steak. Last night we started with their small plate Sausage & Peppers for an appetizer, made with Dioguardi's fantastic Italian sausage. Next, their very tasty Greek Salad, followed by the Flat Iron Steak. Everything was perfect, food as well as service! To finish our meal we decided on an Irish Coffee for my wife and a simple black coffee for me. BUT this is where the train came off the tracks. The coffee was no better than what you would get at the office . . . Brown Water; and the Irish Coffee was no better. Starting with poor coffee and then making the Irish Coffee incorrectly surely left a sour taste after such an excellent meal. We will not do that again. SUGGESTION to Freudy's . . . Either make better coffee or get a Keurig for your bar AND learn how to make the Classic Coffee drinks . . . it easily adds a few extra $$ to the bill; and your servers will appreciate the "add on" and will take pride in promoting the perfect finishing touch to a Great Meal. read more

So I wasn't exactly sure what/where the place was- it might help some to know it's Samantha's on Market, across from Walsh college, the nighttime bar side. I believe it used to be all under the Samantha's name at one point. But on to the food.... it was pretty great. The rocket peppers were big, spicy, with a crunchy exterior and melty cheesy middle. Wedge salad was soooo tasty and fresh, with a great garlicky flavor in the dressing, and super crunchy bacon. The deluxe pork chop was probably the most perfect pork chop ever, thick and cooked perfectly through, and incredibly juicy. Steak burger was wonderful. Sides of asparagus and Gouda risotto were on point. Warning on the bread- it's amazing! Thick, crispy crust with whipped butter- try not to fill up on it like I did. Otherwise you won't have room for the hot chocolate chip cookie with vanilla ice cream. They did seem to be understaffed server wise, I don't know how she did but my server had what seemed like all the tables and my food still came out timely and piping hot. Also it's crazy loud in the bar side (which is all high top tables) so we moved to an outer section of Samantha's with booths and that was much quieter. Definitely will be back! read more

Last night was 4th visit to Freudys. My wife and I have never had a bad meal here. In fact every meal we've had has been excellent. The grilled romaine salad is fabulous the rocket peppers are wonderful as well. last night I had 3 sides instead of an entree: smoked Gouda risotto, sautéed peppers & vegetables . My wife had the cod. All were excellent. This was the first night service was poor. It took excessively long for our food to come out and our young waiter was either inexperienced or just overwhelmed, but it looked like 95% of the people in the restaurant didn't have any food so maybe it was a problem in the kitchen. However He would promise bread and drinks and then we would have to remind him. Even though we still had not had our food for a excessively long time. He did apologize for the delay in the food but certainly didn't make up for it with the service on the other items. We will still go back for more meals Freudy's will just be lower down on our list with all the possible restaurants to visit in Stark County. read more
