Beware Jim's Auto Body and Service under new ownership/management…read more When my wife's car got a check engine light I called the Mercedes dealer first. They wouldn't tell me anything without bringing the car in. I then had the code read at Performance Auto on Mi Ave, an autoparts store. The code identified a common issue related to the crankcase ventilation system, and of course cost me nothing. I decided to give Jim's, my local long term go-to business the work instead of the dealer. I really thought they would fix it. I'd gone to Jim's for everything from a complete engine rebuild to oil changes. Bringing the car to Jim's was a complete waste of time. They identified the code, which I already knew and recommended I bring the car to the dealer. Not only that, they charged me $135 for a service any parts store does for free. If I had known that was the plan I would never have brought the car to Jim's. It's obvious the new management couldn't care less if you are a loyal long term customer. Jim's will no longer be working on any of my cars, Chev, Ford, or Mercedes.

I flooded it trying to start it in the 15-degree weather, called them back and they sent a truck right over for a jump start. I drove to their Michigan Ave shop and left it there a few hours. What do you know, I found a 24 hour truck tire company. I called Bachman Truck Tire Service, LLC and Brad had no problem working on our motor home. Drove less than two miles and Brad was fantastic! He removed a tire, replaced a valve stem, put on the now fixed tire, made sure to put air in the spare and was a congenial person. Brad was reasonably priced.
