After having numerous mechanics work on my car and still not fix the problems correctly, I was beginning to lose hope. Then I took my car to Convenience Auto Repair and spoke with Matt and Pat. They listened to my concerns, found the issues, took pictures of the issues and sent them to me before the work was done and they fixed my car properly. I had repairs done in the past, including replacing the slave cylinder clutch hydraulic line and the parking brake cable, but the problems still weren't completely resolved until Convenience Auto Repair worked on my car. Now my car is running like it's brand new! It's such a relief to finally have a car that drives the way it should. Matt and Pat were professional, knowledgeable, and honest throughout the entire process. If you're looking for mechanics who genuinely care about doing the job right the first time, I highly recommend Convenience Auto Repair. I made an appointment with Ron's Garage and they got my car in right away. They checked the brakes and did their complimentary 30 (or so) point inspection. 30 minutes later they brought me back to the garage to show me what they found. Turns out I wasn't even close to needing new brakes on my car. They could've easily lied and agreed with the other shop...and I would've bought some new brakes from them. But they didn't because they are honest people. They did find an issue with my transmission during their inspection. I had recently had a new transmission put in my car, so took it back to the dealership who confirmed the issue and are in the process of repairing it. So not only are they honest, but their mechanics are smart! Finally, they told me up front that they would charge me for 0.25 hours of work to take a look at the car. After they looked at my car, showed me what they found, and were told that I'd take my car to the dealership to get the transmission issue resolved, they waived the charge! I am a repeat customer. I have had my oil changed at this location twice before. I have always been…read moreimpressed by their level of professionalism and courtesy. Today I needed an oil change. I got 5 quarts of VALVOLINE Full Synthetic engine oil and a new oil filter. They also replaced the drain plug gasket, checked fluid levels, lubricated suspension where possible, checked the air pressure in my tires and performed a multipoint inspection. Labor was ~$28, parts was ~$52. I had a $15 coupon so my total was ~$71 after tax. They also replaced my air filter and windshield wipers with the components that I provided GRATIS. Unisex restroom was clean and tidy. Customer waiting area has free water, coffee and soda pop. I SHALL RETURN next time I need my engine oil changed.

I needed a new shifter cable for my vehicle and had it towed there after hours. They have a drop box for your keys which is a nice touch. No more having to get up and be there at the crack of dawn to explain the issue. Just wrote what I thought was the issue on the envelope and put my keys in the envelope and dropped them in. That's the way I like it. The next morning they called after they found the issue and gave me they're price. I was happy to hear they're price because the 2 other shops I checked with wanted to charge more $$$ for the shifter cable fix. I've got my usual mechanic and I kinda felt like I had cheated on him but it was just this once and he was backed up a week with other work anyways. The Livonia garage is clean inside and even in the bay areas where they work. Everyone was friendly and the coffee was really good. Lots of parking as well. Try The Livonia Garage. The First time I brought it in it was for a tuneup, and they were less than half the price of the dealership I appreciated that they inspected things and just didn't automatically replace fluids or parts that didn't need to be replaced. I just brought in my car because my air-conditioning stopped working. They did some diagnostics and recharged it. because it was only a diagnostic they did not charge me anything. Well, I decided that most of it sounded bogus, and took my vehicle to Lonnie's instead. Turns out, almost none of the repairs that Belle Tire said I needed were actually warranted. Lonnie's replaced my strut assemblies and sway link bars in the front within 2 hours of having the car dropped off, for only $625 total. I am so pleased with their service and professionalism. I think I've found my Belleville Area mechanics!

Unfortunately, within just a few days of getting the vehicle back, the same problems returned. After multiple attempts to have the issues corrected, it appeared that the diagnostic trouble codes had simply been cleared rather than the underlying problems being resolved. I eventually took the vehicle to my regular mechanic, who had recently acquired the equipment necessary to service this type of vehicle. After inspecting it, he found that the oil sensor was still the original sensor rather than a new replacement, the oil leak was coming from the manifold instead of the oil pan (which I had previously discussed with the shop), and the EVAP switch had been installed incorrectly, with loose lines. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this shop. I would encourage others to ask detailed questions about the repairs performed and verify the work before leaving. Unfortunately, my experience resulted in additional time, expense, and frustration.

They give honest, upfront estimates of what needs to be repaired before they do any work your vehicle, which is at a far better price than most dealerships or other auto repair businesses offer. Bruce, and his team have extensive experience with all makes of Honda and Toyota vehicles. As an ASE Master Certified Technician specializing in Honda products, he strongly recommends using authentic auto parts from these two trusted brands, and not generic, third-party manufacturers. Likewise, I've had my Civic tuned up and it runs like a champ, at less than half the price quoted by three other auto shops in the Ann Arbor-Ypsilanti area. No matter what the make or model of vehicle you own, be it domestic or foreign, Bruce and his team of dedicated mechanics will repair it no matter what the problem is. The only kind of service he doesn't provide are front-end alignments. However, this may change in the future.

They tend to charge on the rather high side of things and refuse to work with longtime customers on pricing or give a slight discount when multiple things are being done. Lastly, their work doesn't seem to last as long as it does when getting fixes done at a dealership, so your brakes will go quicker.. oil will NEED to be changed around 1.5k miles etc. They guarantee their work, kind of, but not for long and they're vague about specifics. I'd like to get more work done here, but it will be cheaper and last longer if customers went elsewhere.. So.. typical independent auto shop?
