First let me say I have been a loyal customer of the Anderson Freytags for over ten years. It is very disappointing to have to write this review. But the upside is I found a new wonderful florist. Ordered a "I'm sorry" bouquet of flowers.... very busy day, called ahead while I was on road and asked them to make up a dozen and a half roses, went over available colors... which was kind of thin. Told them I would be there in ten minutes to please start them, they argued with me they needed credit card.. told them in was in my pocket and couldn't get it out while driving in traffic. I stressed I am a long time customer and would not leave them hanging. I ordered from them for years, my company ordered from them, as well as the charity I run. I would be there in just a bit. The receptionist, said she would give them a heads up and get started. I arrived eight minutes later, go through process to pay... and they hadn't even pulled the flowers yet. Total bait and switch. I got pretty heated, and said why couldn't you have started this for a long time customer? Some of our arrangements were over $250.00 I purchased in past.. we were good customers - so, I was told it was their policy. It wasn't fair to discriminate against business that haven't done much with them in favor of someone who is a regular customer they need to apply the policy evenly. ???????????????????????????????????????????????????? And this anti discriminatory new customer policy encourages long term customers exactly how ? What do I know... I only wrote a published book on marketing whose premise was that retaining older loyal customers is much cheaper than acquiring new ones, which frequently can fun into the hundreds of dollars per new customer. As I told the counter person I would take my business elsewhere... there was that typical Millennial smirk that has become all too common, "we've showed another boomer whose boss"... The manager I talked to was equally unhelpful locked into the concept of "policy before loyal customer satisfaction" Total disengagement over meeting customer expectations... total lack of concern over losing long time loyal customer. So the good news. I called Texas Blooms at the Triangle. Said I was in my car on my way. THEY VOLUNTEERED WITHOUT ME ASKING.. "we will start on your flowers and you can pay when you get here". So I was in a hurry... I dialed them when I got there from curb, they brought the flowers to many, brought the credit card machine outside, ran it at the curb and off I went. The arrangement was spectacular. What a wonderful experience..... they actually bent over backwards to help me. Not once did I hear the dreaded business self-destruction word "POLICY" How cool is that.... it's important to reward businesses who go the extra mile for their customers.... that isn't Freytags. read more

I woke up this morning and headed to work. Then it hit me, I forgot to get my wife flowers for our 4 year wedding anniversary today. So I pull out my phone, google local florist and selected the first one available and boy am I glad I did because not only where the prices great but the selection was huge and the ordering process was simple! After my purchase around 9:15am went through I was worried they wouldn't, but hopeful they would be delivered the same day. Fast forward 3 hours and BOOM my wife send me photos of her beautiful flowers and balloon set I ordered that morning. Freytag's Saved My Birthday. Receiving flowers from Freytag's is tantamount to receiving a delivery of fresh baked cookies from Tiff's Treats. You KNOW the floral arrangement is going to be beautiful, not to mention perfect for the occasion. I received such a bouquet for my birthday; however, something happened to the roses, and they did not open correctly. I knew this was not normal, so I called Freytag's and spoke to Jasmine who immediately set about to fix the situation. I was amazed to receive a fresh bouquet that afternoon (11/20). This arrangement has lasted a full week, and is still going strong. The roses are opening, and they still look fresh and beautiful. Had a bad experience with this florist. Ordered a funeral spray to be delivered to a rural predominantly African American church in a predominantly African American community. The order wasn't delivered! I inquired to this florist for an explanation and after all the lies ultimately the real explanation from the local contractor florist was "we don't deliver out there"! This florist thought by refunding my money was sufficient. Refunding my money didn't negate the fact that the flowers weren't delivered and a coverup was initiated. So if you are African American I don't recommend using this florist because they don't "vet" their venders to ensure that all clientele are treated fairly. read more

I ordered an arrangement and asked that it be tall and festive, with stargazer lilies and other mixed colorful flowers. They incorporated various flowers, yet I think the arrangement, quantity and selection was truly lacking. I asked the recipient to send me a picture and my heart stopped as I was extremely embarrassed. This was for a work associate and intended to be impressive. It was not, and certainly not for the money that I spent. I should have known to be skeptical when I asked that they send me a picture before they sent it out, they said they couldn't because they were too busy with Christmas deliveries. My suggestion- if you use Freytags' don't go custom. If you do, INSIST on a preview. read more

This was a flower delivery order for my wife. I was referred to this company by Austin Flower Co and was not disappointed. They have a great staff that was very helpful. I received an order confirmation immediately via email with all of the information I would have asked about. I called a few times to ask some questions and they were always friendly. The order arrived at my wife's office (which was on a pretty large campus) without issue. I then received an email confirming delivery just moments after it happened. I got the most awful, old, brownish looking lilies in an arrangement from Freytag's florist for my birthday last month. I have called them so many times to tell the management about it. first they ignoreed my calls and messages and today before i typed this review I decided to reach out to them one more time and even sent them the picture of the awful looking flowers and they basically denied that it was from there even though it came with Freytag's card and typed message attached to it! I'd rate them 0 stars if I could, but to be fair, the flowers were pretty. First, their price is expensive. Second, the delivery drivers are clueless. Only order from Freytag if it is ok for your card to go missing and your flowers to show up without a card. Only order from Freytag if the words in your card are meaningless. Another words, 99% of us should never order from Freytag. Some people's love language is words. The "gift" of the flowers is not as important to them as the words that go with that card. Instead of the flowers being a comfort for the person they ended up causing more headaches for someone that was already going through a troublesome time. Thanks, but no thanks Freytag. I am an Austin gal and I have used Freytags for years but after my experience recently I will be using someone else. My review is not about the flowers, the flowers have always been wonderful. My review and complete dissatisfaction is about the wreck-less driving of their deliver driver. I was riding my bicycle and the delivery driver comes with in about an inch of hitting me with the side mirror then makes a sharp turn in front of me causing me to have to stop abruptly so I didn't get run over. I called the store and spoke to someone who said they were in a 'leadership' type position with the store and they would pass my information on to the owner. Well no one called me back and if I am not going to do business with a company that doesn't think it is important enough to call back someone who was almost killed by their delivery driver! Wow! I originally gave Freytag's a one star because they, uncharacteristically, missed an important delivery. However, since my feedback was left, I've gotten a call and emails from the company. They went above and beyond to fix the issue. My flowers were upgraded and they did not charge me for them. Furthermore, I received a $125 voucher for a future purchase. We recently ordered flowers for a funeral and Freytag was everything and more. The asociate that assisted me was very compassioanlte and thoughtful; I was having trouble finding the words to describe our cowaorker. She asked me direct questions that helped me formulate my thoughts and relieved mountains of stress, The flowers we selected were beautiful and delivered promptly. Erin sent me a picture of the flowers so I could post a picture for coworkers who were not able to attend. It made them feel better knowing they contributed to the familes comfort. My rating is purely based on a $50 gift certificate I purchased at a Silent Auction. The gift certificate expired only 9 months after the Silent Auction which I believe when a retailer issues a gift certificate, they should at least allow for a year at a minimum. I called 13 months after I purchased the gift certificate and they said they would not honor it. I owned a retail store for 9 years and we always honored expired gift certificates because I knew I could potentially turn that person using the gift card into a regular customer. Fortunately Congress passed a law for gift cards purchased on or after August 2010 that allow consumers 5 years to use their gift card to protect us from retailers putting early expiration on their gift cards. Read here if you are not familiar with the new consumer protection act. http://www.consumer-action.org/helpdesk/articles/gift_certificate_expiration_dates_and_fees/ Unfortunately the Silent Auction was before August 22 so the federal laws don't apply to my situation. The florist had the option to go ahead and honor the gift certificate but since they said no, my opinion is that there are other florists that deserve my future business. In fact, I just placed $450 order with another local florist that could have been Freytag's if they just would have said yes to honoring the gift certificate. 6/25/11 Update: Freytag's has redeemed themselves and is now honoring my gift certificate. I appreciate the willingness for them to work with me and will be sure to purchase flowers from them for my future orders. I have never been upset with the quality of their flowers, I was just upset with the business practice. read more

I ordered a Christmas arrangement for my sister. I spent quite a bit of time with a very helpful employee going over the size of arrangement, flowers and color of flowers to be in arrangement and ones definitely not to be included. My sister loved the centerpiece and sent me a picture of a lovely arrangement, but not what I requested. I called Freytag's and spoke to Kristy. She apologized for the error and offered 3 very good and generous options for me to choose to rectify the problem.
