Amazing coffee house right off the river in Minneapolis. Its designed to be a shared use space and the coffee shop allows seating across the large entry and has a great old design with lots of light but still air conditioning for those hot summer days in the city! Great drop coffee Great mixed coffee drinks (cortado, latte and chai have been sampled) Fun staff, i have to study for work (teaching), I'm adding this place to the lineup!

LOVE! Reminds me of the Emerald City from Wizard of Oz or Elphaba from Wicked. Located in the lovely area of St. Anthony Main, I highly recommend making a day of your coffee trip and maybe walking Stone Arch Bridge or taking advantage of the small shops nearby. FRGMMT has a few locations, yet this one is the most unique. The exterior sign is not the easiest to spot so I relied on pictures from Yelp to help me navigate. Once inside I was in awe at how spacious it was with giant vaulted ceilings, former businesses (maybe a few active) along with a dog friendly interior which is rare to find. I started my "Girls Gone Mild" bachelorette party here and I'm so glad I did. It was a perfect way to get caffeinated while also allowing quality visiting time. There are lots of seating options such as near the fireplace, in natural sunlight, on couches and even darker more intimate spots. The service is friendly and the drinks are perfect. I ordered an iced americano with a shot of sugar free vanilla and loved it. I hope to return with my doggie one day!

FRGMNT coffee is a great place to sit, do some work, chat with a good friend, and have a coffee. Ambiance is amazing - taking over the ground level in the building. Wide open, with lots of seating. Games, pool, amazing. Service is quick and friendly. The food options are both delicious (the donuts are some of the best I've had in the city) and varied, with vegan options. Parking can be a pain, but usually you can find some on Main Street with a meter.

First time here after having this spot on my list for a while. Met friends here for a nice little midmorning coffee date and loved the spacious, cozy vibe with the fireplace and couches. There is lots of seating and even a pool table and shuffleboard. The coffee and tea were just okay, and I felt the baristas were a bit transactional, which was disappointing. The caramel apple pop-tart was delicious though. A few things worth mentioning: street parking that you need to pay for and dogs are allowed here.

What a cute place to have a coffee and hang out. The building is adorable- cool architecture, comfy chairs and a neat fire feature. I ordered a maple latte which was great!

This coffee shop is in a fabulous neighborhood just steps from the scenic Mississippi River--perfect for a pre-sip stroll or a study break with a view. The vibe is welcoming and relaxed, with tons of seating ideal for catching up on work, chatting with a friend, or simply soaking in the cozy atmosphere. I stopped by on a sunny Sunday around 4pm. While it was buzzing with activity, I had no trouble finding a seat. The ordering line looked intimidating, but moved surprisingly fast--props to the super friendly barista who greeted me with a big smile. Whether you're a coffee connoisseur or tea devotee, you'll find something that fits your vibe. I went for an iced chai with oat milk--it was refreshingly light and smooth, though not a standout flavor-wise. Now let's talk pastries. Honey & Rye supplies the baked goods, and though the selection was a bit limited when we arrived, the flavor more than made up for it. My friend had the almond croissant and I grabbed what I dubbed a fancy Pop-Tart--technically a hand pie. The fruit filling was super fresh and tangy, the icing gave it a sweet pop, and the crust? Chef's kiss: golden and buttery. Street parking was easy to find, mostly metered. Do a quick check on the signage--weekend rates might work in your favor.

It was really cool to see the interior architecture. Industrial/dark academia vibes. There was a very long line the Saturday morning I went. A bunch of uni students. Despite the long wait to order, I got my drink pretty fast. I got the Open Sesame which was a limited offering. It was a pleasant drink. Glad I got to stop by and check this place out real quick.

Came here for a drink over the weekend and it's always been one of my favorite spots. The inside is so spacious with great lighting and the drinks/food are always great too. Definitely on the pricy side but worth it if you're going to come and work for a few hours. There is not much parking and it is all paid except up on 4th Ave SE but it's a bit of a walk. The area is very pretty though and you've got a great walk along the river as well.

I got the matcha libre! It was not what I was expecting but it was still good to try! There is a big open area on the ground to do work, which was super nice to get things done in!

Unquestionably the most beautiful coffee shop I've seen anywhere. Several stories high - and beautiful overlook toward Mississippi River & Nicollet Island. Standard coffee, tea and cold drinks. But the place is DEFINITELY worth a visit for its stunning interior

Amazing space with decent amount of seating. Great place to sit and study/work/catch up with friends and follow up with a riverfront walk outside on a sunny day

I'll echo what others said, this is a GREAT spot to work from. Nice options for tea, coffee, sweets, and several gender-neutral restrooms, good WiFi, and comfortable, abundant seating. I had forgotten to eat the whole day and by mid-afternoon was starving; unfortunately the food here is lacking, being a step above gas station quality pre-packaged sandwiches and chips but at trendy coffee shop prices. If I returned, it would be solely for drinks or a pastry (which to be fair, they seem to be most known for). The seating area was so nice though, you can find a spot anywhere and could take calls, or throw headphones in and get stuff done. Natural light streams through, and for me it was right across the street from my hotel. Only went once, but overall was somewhat impressed.

Stopped in for a donut and coffee and was pleasantly surprised by the variety they had. I went with my favorite--an old fashioned donut--and paired it with a cold brew. Added their maple syrup, and it really hit the spot. Quick, tasty, and super convenient since it's close by. I'll definitely be back!

I think Caffetto kind of corners a market that no one else has by being open so late--most coffee shops are barely open past noon, and they're open until midnight! I've personally spent many a late night there finishing up work--it's a really cozy atmosphere, and the selection of pinball machines in the basement are the perfect study break activity. The staff are all great and even when there's a line, they get through it quick and are still able to offer great recommendations--while I usually prefer an iced green tea with no ice, I've tried the lattes, cold press, Thai coffee, and hot chocolate and have genuinely never had a bad drink here. The only thing is to make sure you watch your step if you're walking in the basement--even though it has seating and pinball and the bathroom, it's more of an unfinished space with uneven flooring and I personally rolled my ankle and fell there last year haha.

I had a triple decaf almond milk latte that tasted like it was caffeinated to me but didn't give me the buzz I'm so addicted to, that's when you know it's a good decaf. I love the coziness and the unique artwork in Caffetto. I look forward to coming back at an earlier hour to feed my addiction. But it's great to know I have a go to coffee shop for those afternoon cravings where the decaf tastes just as delightful! UPDATE- 2 hours later: there's additional seating and a pinball machine room in the basement, glad I went downstairs to the bathroom.

The soaring industrial ceilings, massive windows pouring in natural light, dark wood shelving, plants everywhere, books, artwork, vintage decor, and incredible lighting somehow make the whole place feel both grand and peaceful. It's the kind of space where you immediately want to cancel your plans and spend the entire afternoon reading, working, or simply existing. Every direction you look feels thoughtfully designed. One thing I couldn't find online beforehand was whether there would be places to plug in my laptop. Thankfully, there are plenty of outlets, making it a fantastic place to work. Even better, despite its size, the atmosphere stays calm and quiet. It never felt loud or chaotic. The drinks were excellent. I tried the Lime Creamsicle Iced Matcha and later ordered a hot matcha, complete with a beautiful heart poured into the milk. I especially appreciated that they use what tasted like genuine, high-quality matcha rather than the overly sweet, filler-heavy mixes that so many coffee shops rely on. You can absolutely taste the difference. I also picked up two pastries: an artichoke and cheese croissant (I think it was Gouda?) and the coffee cake. Both were delicious, but that coffee cake deserves its own paragraph. It was huge, incredibly moist and rich, and served in a large paper liner almost like an oversized cupcake. I'd happily go back just for that. If I had one wish, it would simply be for the menu to match the creativity of the space. The coffee, tea, and espresso selections felt a bit limited considering how unique everything else is. This seems like the perfect place to experiment with fun specialty drinks and elevated touches. Imagine pink peppercorn on a cortado, mint dust on a cappuccino, unique flavored cold foams, rotating seasonal teas, or other creative finishes. The environment practically begs for a menu that's just as imaginative. The staff interaction was fine but didn't really stand out. When I asked whether they recommended the Lime Creamsicle Matcha, the response was basically, "I mean... it tastes like a lime creamsicle." It wasn't unfriendly, just not especially engaging. The prices are definitely on the higher end, but between the stunning atmosphere, quality ingredients, and excellent pastries, I'd happily return. Backstory isn't just somewhere to grab coffee. It's somewhere you want to linger. If you're looking for one of the most beautiful, calming coffee shops in Minneapolis, this belongs at the top of your list.

It gets an incredible amount of natural light, which makes it a pleasant place to spend some time. I also loved that it's dog friendly. The seating, however, is a bit of a mixed bag. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, which made for a great first impression. The menu is a little limited, but what I had was excellent. I ordered the light roast coffee and it was super good. I was also happy to see they carry Cardigan Donuts. If you have not had one before, they are absolutely worth trying! The biggest drawback for me was the WiFi. It was so unreliable that it made getting work done almost impossible, which is a pretty significant downside for a coffee shop. Overall, I enjoyed the coffee, the atmosphere, and the friendly staff, but the limited menu, somewhat uncomfortable seating, and especially the poor WiFi kept this from becoming one of my go to coffee shops.
