What a gem Frida Cantina turned out to be! It all began with the chips and salsas; at first bite you new you were entering an experience quite different from the average standard house offerings you've had in the past. I hadn't experienced any salsa so remarkably different and deliously unique in any other Mexican restaurant I'd been to before. It was a foreshadowing of what turned out to be one of the best Mexican dining experiences we have had. From the mammoth portions; the burrito, quesadillas and loaded nachos, each dish was an exceptional standard out in its class. Thank you Frida Cantina for pursuing excellence and succeeding!

I loved this place and I want to live here. Holy crap what a welcoming environment. We sat at the bar while waiting for our friends and tried every mezcal drink on the menu. Loved them ALL especially the cantaritos. The bartender was so excited to tell us about the specials and they did not disappoint. Four of us shared: chips & salsa, guacamole, flautas de choripapas, birria tacos (special), suadero tacos and al pastor tacos. We were stuffed but we also stayed a while. The only disappointment was they didn't have the chile relleno (fridas favorite :/) regardless we enjoyed and I guess that just means I'll have to come back down. Fyi it's south Philly so parking is abysmal as is to be expected. Get to the city by 4 on a weekday and it's smooth sailing.

We did not intend to come here for dinner but Los Gallos was closed, and this is across the street. What a pleasant surprise! The food was phenomenal. Nachos had plenty of toppings but weren't soggy. Burrito was huge, I could only eat half. Seems like they have a good drink selection but we didn't have drinks at dinner.

I was in Philadelphia for work and the concierge recommended this restaurant. I do wish we had walked as parking is insane in the area. It's all parallel parking and very narrow streets. Warning! There is no AC and it was very hot. It got even hotter because we were eating Mexican food. The guacamole and chips were good. The burritos were excellent! Huge portions! I ate half and had the other half for dinner. The service was excellent and the decor is definitely worth a peek! Great staff, service, and recommendations. They have an extensive menu.

My friend invited me to come get happy hour at this place, and I'm glad we came! We arrived just in time for happy hour which offered a selection of drinks on discount. We got margaritas (mango and peach) for $7 each. I enjoyed the drink and thought it was well-made. For food, I ordered the Milanese de Res sandwich, which was my first time trying this item. I liked all the filling and thought they went well together. Overall, this restaurant has decent prices and great food. The servers were very attentive and kind.

Food was delicious, large servings. Staff was friendly and attentive. Cozy little vibe with unique theme/interior.

I burst through the doors of Frida Cantina with my friend Zack and we had a purpose and it was fueled by tequila. We made it just in time leaving out jobs early to make it to the 4-6 happy hour that offers $5 drafts and $8 margarita made fresh on point! The atmosphere was inviting with a rustic charm and colorful decor. Especially the most beautiful bar in the city. See photos Upon arriving, we were promptly greeted by Perez, who was friendly and accommodating. He asked for our preference of an assortment of FRESH margarita flavors, and Zack chose mango while I chose classic. We were enamored by how authentic and delicious the drinks were, as always. The tequila was smooth and well-balanced with the other ingredients, making for a refreshing and satisfying beverage. For starters, we ordered the ceviche which was fresh and flavorful, and it was inhaled by the two of us in no time. For our main course, we ordered the suadero tacos, which had a perfect combination of textures and flavors, while Zack ordered steak/chorizo tacos, which were juicy and full of flavor. After happy hour was over, we decided to explore the drink menu and were imbibed by mojitos and mezcal margs. The mojito was made with fresh mint and lime, and the mezcal margarita had a smoky and complex flavor that was perfectly balanced with the other ingredients. Overall, I highly recommend Frida Cantina. The quality of the food and drink is top-notch, and the service is exceptional. We spent $20 plus an Uber ride because we knew Frida does not f around on their quality of food and drink. This happy hour went down in history as a must-visit for anyone who loves authentic and delicious Mexican cuisine and drinks. Note happy hour is 4-6 Monday -Friday Uber/Lyft highly recommended Great for date night Authentic Margs made with all fresh ingredients like agave.

Delicious and affordable! Unique spice combo for interesting and deep flavors - loved both the Al pastor and choripapa (chorizo and potato). Comes with free chips and salsa. Fun and festive decoration - the tile work is beautiful! Individually carved chairs and hand painted murals.

From our first visits to Frida Cantina for watching Eagles games with friends at the bar, to our recent deliveries during Covid, we remain big fans! Delivery is always a solid experience and everything is packaged well. I've been digging the al pastor tacos and we almost always get an order of guac and chips, which is pretty substantial. The restaurant always throws in some homemade salsas - the green salsa is absolutely delicious!

I'm a big fan of Frida since my boyfriend lives not too far and the food is always good. I remember the first time I went there, we got some queso fundido and tacos, basically the staple of what one would grab from a taqueria. The restaurant itself is very cute and quaint, seating only a handful of tables outside of the bar area. If you happen to be in a rush or just in the mood to bum around in the house, you can get your food to go or even order through Uber Eats. My favorite taco in general is Al Pastor, but you can't really go wrong with anything that you order unless you're looking for Taco Bell ;) In addition to great service and decent customers, the atmosphere in Frida is never one that makes you roll your eyes so it's perfect for a casual date or a night out with friends.

The bartenders were so nice, speedy, and knowledgeable! They patiently explained to us the differences among some drinks and provided great recs based on our preferences! The customers/ patrons that are drawn to Grace and Proper are what make this place shine! We had a full dating intervention with strangers (we asked them for advice!) and it was so fun! This is the kind of place that makes you believe in humanity and whimsical connections again! The lighting indoors can be VERY dim as we were there around sunset. Smattering of patio tables on both Eighth Street and Carpenter. When I saw it, I said yes before even looking at the menu. We ordered drinks at the bar and took them outside. It's very chic but also casual. There were mostly pairs or trios - no families. Not th. We saw people ordering a little bit of everything. Honestly, the menu looked great! The kale Caesar salad, the piri piri buffalo chicken dip, bacon wrapped plums, etc. The drinks were the best we had on our Philly trip! The Spanish Monk which had gin, lemon juice, frothed egg white and smoked paprika. I had the GGG which they carried over from their old menu. Can't remember what was in it but she said it was similar to Bee's Knees which is one of my favorite! There's self service still water and sparkling water in the back of the restaurant. Perfectly chilled. Perfectly bubbled! Such a lovely spot!

I especially like it here on a Monday's when they have a 1/2 off growlers. I generally sit at the bar inside to get myself a couple samples of the new beers on tap just to help make a decision on what I'd like to take home. The staff is helpful, very efficient and friendly. The place is very clean well lit. Parking may be at a premium on certain days. What kept me from giving this business five stars is how food is ordered. I knew that they sold hotdogs because they're right on the counter next to the draft beer but I mentioned I needed a little more sustenance. ' we have a food menu you can order food' it was with other items next to the register. I had no idea it was food from across the street and it caused two different tabs. I should've been told is an advance in the end it was fine the pizza was good as was the beer but I would have preferred a heads up. If you use a credit card there is a $10 minimum if you get eight dollars worth of beer like I did it may have been a problem because I couldn't use my card for lack of cash! The items together were $24. When closing out trying to get to my movie the restaurant took an extended period of time bringing me my card back.

I sent an email with questions about our reservation and never received a response. The online booking portal doesn't provide much detail, and while the website has a "Call" option, it wasn't very useful. I received multiple automated reminder emails stressing that we needed to arrive 15 minutes early because race times wouldn't be extended for late arrivals, which is completely understandable. I just wish there had been the same level of attention when it came to responding to customer questions. Once we arrived, the experience was much better. They gave our group a private seating area, which was a nice surprise. Our server was friendly, checked on us periodically, and never pressured us to order food. We chose to have drinks only, and it was nice to relax before and after racing. The simulators were a lot of fun, and everyone in our group enjoyed the experience. The only thing to know is that the races move quickly--you only have about two minutes between sessions to switch drivers, so there's not much time to explore the venue or step away without paying attention to when you're up next. Overall, it was a fun and unique way to celebrate a birthday. We'd definitely come back, although probably as a special once-a-year outing because of the cost. If F1 Arcade improved its communication before events, this easily could have been a five-star experience.

Fun experience, but definitely on the pricey side for the amount of actual racing you get…read more F1 Arcade is a pretty cool F1 racing simulation where you get to drive an F1-style race car on various real F1 tracks. The simulators do a good job of making you feel like you're actually racing--the seat moves and rumbles as you go around the track, accelerate, brake, and presumably make questionable racing decisions. One warning: if you get motion sickness easily, this might not be the activity for you. Between the moving seat and the racing visuals, your brain may start wondering why your body is sitting still while your car is doing 200 mph. The place itself is huge, with 40+ simulators. We went on a Saturday afternoon and were surprised by how empty it was. They also have a bar and serve food, but we were there strictly for the racing. We had a party of 4, so we did the team racing option and were given two simulators. Each of us got three races, and the system paired us up differently for each race, so everyone got a chance to race against everyone else. That part was actually pretty fun and made it feel more competitive. The downside is that the races are REALLY short--about 3 minutes each. So for roughly $30 per person, we each got only about 10 minutes of actual racing time across the three races. Once you factor in getting everyone set up and waiting between races, our entire visit was under an hour. The staff was friendly and did a good job explaining how the simulators work and how to check when your next race was starting, so the whole process was pretty easy. Overall, this was a fun experience, especially if you're an F1 fan or enjoy racing games. The simulators are definitely more immersive than playing a racing game at home. That said, the price is hard to overlook considering how little actual driving time you get. We had a good time, but at around $30 per person for about 10 minutes of racing, this is probably a "do it once for the experience" kind of activity rather than something we'd do regularly.
