Just stopped in for drinks one night. Great margaritas... love the ambiance! Will def be back!

I loved this place and I want to live here. Holy crap what a welcoming environment. We sat at the bar while waiting for our friends and tried every mezcal drink on the menu. Loved them ALL especially the cantaritos. The bartender was so excited to tell us about the specials and they did not disappoint. Four of us shared: chips & salsa, guacamole, flautas de choripapas, birria tacos (special), suadero tacos and al pastor tacos. We were stuffed but we also stayed a while. The only disappointment was they didn't have the chile relleno (fridas favorite :/) regardless we enjoyed and I guess that just means I'll have to come back down. Fyi it's south Philly so parking is abysmal as is to be expected. Get to the city by 4 on a weekday and it's smooth sailing.

We did not intend to come here for dinner but Los Gallos was closed, and this is across the street. What a pleasant surprise! The food was phenomenal. Nachos had plenty of toppings but weren't soggy. Burrito was huge, I could only eat half. Seems like they have a good drink selection but we didn't have drinks at dinner.

I was in Philadelphia for work and the concierge recommended this restaurant. I do wish we had walked as parking is insane in the area. It's all parallel parking and very narrow streets. Warning! There is no AC and it was very hot. It got even hotter because we were eating Mexican food. The guacamole and chips were good. The burritos were excellent! Huge portions! I ate half and had the other half for dinner. The service was excellent and the decor is definitely worth a peek! Great staff, service, and recommendations. They have an extensive menu.

My friend invited me to come get happy hour at this place, and I'm glad we came! We arrived just in time for happy hour which offered a selection of drinks on discount. We got margaritas (mango and peach) for $7 each. I enjoyed the drink and thought it was well-made. For food, I ordered the Milanese de Res sandwich, which was my first time trying this item. I liked all the filling and thought they went well together. Overall, this restaurant has decent prices and great food. The servers were very attentive and kind.

Food was delicious, large servings. Staff was friendly and attentive. Cozy little vibe with unique theme/interior.

I burst through the doors of Frida Cantina with my friend Zack and we had a purpose and it was fueled by tequila. We made it just in time leaving out jobs early to make it to the 4-6 happy hour that offers $5 drafts and $8 margarita made fresh on point! The atmosphere was inviting with a rustic charm and colorful decor. Especially the most beautiful bar in the city. See photos Upon arriving, we were promptly greeted by Perez, who was friendly and accommodating. He asked for our preference of an assortment of FRESH margarita flavors, and Zack chose mango while I chose classic. We were enamored by how authentic and delicious the drinks were, as always. The tequila was smooth and well-balanced with the other ingredients, making for a refreshing and satisfying beverage. For starters, we ordered the ceviche which was fresh and flavorful, and it was inhaled by the two of us in no time. For our main course, we ordered the suadero tacos, which had a perfect combination of textures and flavors, while Zack ordered steak/chorizo tacos, which were juicy and full of flavor. After happy hour was over, we decided to explore the drink menu and were imbibed by mojitos and mezcal margs. The mojito was made with fresh mint and lime, and the mezcal margarita had a smoky and complex flavor that was perfectly balanced with the other ingredients. Overall, I highly recommend Frida Cantina. The quality of the food and drink is top-notch, and the service is exceptional. We spent $20 plus an Uber ride because we knew Frida does not f around on their quality of food and drink. This happy hour went down in history as a must-visit for anyone who loves authentic and delicious Mexican cuisine and drinks. Note happy hour is 4-6 Monday -Friday Uber/Lyft highly recommended Great for date night Authentic Margs made with all fresh ingredients like agave.

If you want to get good drinks without spending too much , come here Monday- Friday before 6 for happy hour. I had mojito and it's perfectly refreshing. Staff was very attentive and helpful. Good and spicy red salsa served with chips. Guacamole is ok. Carnitas burrito is mediocre. Had little pieces of pork mostly fat. I ordered salad with shrimp. They asked me how many shrimps I wanted. Shrimps are big and perfectly cooked In summary, I recommend the drinks but not the food.

Delicious and affordable! Unique spice combo for interesting and deep flavors - loved both the Al pastor and choripapa (chorizo and potato). Comes with free chips and salsa. Fun and festive decoration - the tile work is beautiful! Individually carved chairs and hand painted murals.

From our first visits to Frida Cantina for watching Eagles games with friends at the bar, to our recent deliveries during Covid, we remain big fans! Delivery is always a solid experience and everything is packaged well. I've been digging the al pastor tacos and we almost always get an order of guac and chips, which is pretty substantial. The restaurant always throws in some homemade salsas - the green salsa is absolutely delicious!

The bar is split with the restaurant half (though I think technically combined?) and I can absolutely see this place being PACKED for an Eagles game. Very reasonable pricing for beer. The service was superb. We happened to be there when AirBNB was there to take pictures and we requested not to be part of the photos. Not only were they super nice about it, they actually gave us free drinks for the "inconvenience" of having to move bars. And the vibe overall is great, very laid back but with tons of TVs bound to have whatever game you want to watch on. If you live in the neighborhood, this could easily be a go-to spot.

I especially like it here on a Monday's when they have a 1/2 off growlers. There's indoor out and outdoor seating you can also get specialty beers to go from the case and there's so much to choose from. I generally sit at the bar inside to get myself a couple samples of the new beers on tap just to help make a decision on what I'd like to take home. The staff is helpful, very efficient and friendly. The place is very clean well lit. Parking may be at a premium on certain days. What kept me from giving this business five stars is how food is ordered. I knew that they sold hotdogs because they're right on the counter next to the draft beer but I mentioned I needed a little more sustenance. ' we have a food menu you can order food' it was with other items next to the register. I had no idea it was food from across the street and it caused two different tabs. I should've been told is an advance in the end it was fine the pizza was good as was the beer but I would have preferred a heads up. If you use a credit card there is a $10 minimum if you get eight dollars worth of beer like I did it may have been a problem because I couldn't use my card for lack of cash! The items together were $24. When closing out trying to get to my movie the restaurant took an extended period of time bringing me my card back.

I do think if I went on a day where it was packed, I would not have enjoyed it as much. The racing simulators are pretty cool! The chair shakes while you are racing in order to give it as much real effects as possible. As your driving/racing you have to pay attention to the guides on the floor in colors red, green & yellow signifying you to slow down on certain curves and turns on the different tracks. When you pay for a race, five rounds of racing is included. You can pick your level of difficulty for each round. I went with "rookie" for all of my five rounds and each track was different. It was neat not knowing what to expect each time you began and it was cool to know you could enjoy it even at the most basic level, which is rookie. The food was not bad, but I could've done without it. The fried chicken sand-which was kinda salty, but I was a fan of the truffle fries. The prosecco was good, light and extra bubbly (not pictured). I think the interior was very nice! Being that there was barely anyone, I got to capture some pics which was nice! I have gone through many iterations of my relationship with being a fan of sports teams…read more Younger me's whole personality was based around Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers, Angels Baseball, and USC football. I vividly remember after the Lakers game 7 Championship win against the Celtics in 2010, 14 year old me who had just wrapped up the 8th grade, had a major realization. After a night of pure exaltation and chirping all my friends who were Celtics fans, I woke up the next day and realized my life had not changed AT ALL. I had a metamorphosis of sorts, realizing that I should put all of this time, energy, and passion into myself rather than being fans of players and teams who didn't know I existed. While I remained a fan, it was never the same. I stopped wearing my Kobe jerseys everywhere I went. I began to look at grown men walking around wearing other grown mens jerseys like they were DORKS. Don't you want to do something impactful with your life to where people would want to wear your jersey? Or wear your own, at least in a metaphorical sense? Idk. In retrospect, I became a little asshole lmao. --I promise The Garage will tie in here in a second stay with me I love this place-- It wasn't until I went to Europe on a school trip towards the end of High School when my 2nd metamorphosis began. I was OBSESSED with everything about European culture, thinking how fascinating it was that people live so differently than myself, but it's just normal life to them. My American ignorance led me to believe that everyone lived like I did, had the same interests I did. Idk, it blew my mind and I just couldn't get enough. I thought it was SO cool how passionate the Europeans were about their soccer, not realizing how contradictory this was to my own beliefs about American sports fans. I even bought a Messi Jersey and allat! It wasn't until years and years later, when I really put it together. These European Football fans were essentially paralleled to American Football fans. Both getting SO invested in these games, SCREAMING at the screen between sips of beer at a local bar like that will have any effect on the outcome of the game lmao. The older I have gotten, the more I have begun to respect the passionate sports fan, no matter what sport it is. Even if, for me personally, this passion is better to be placed somewhere else, I respect and love to be around passionate people no matter where that passion is placed. Who am I to tell someone what to be passionate about? I have gone through this life meeting people who are passionate about literally nothing, just kind of numb to life and that makes me sad and just scares me. How could you be numb to life? It's such a beautiful gift tha---okay I'm getting way too existential, let me reign it in. All this to say, I watched game 1 of the NLDS here where the Phillies were playing the Braves the other night. I feel like the reputation of the Philly sports fan is the best we have in America, and they did NOT disappoint. They were going BRAAAZYYYYYY in here lmaaaoo. Every base hit felt like a homerun, every home run felt like they had just won the mf powerball. For every single out they were counting down for how many more they needed to win. "ONLY 18 MORE WE GOT THIS!" lmao. The passion was tangible and beautiful. There was a guy slanging $4 hotdogs that were delicious, 100% pure American beef (allegedly). The bartenders were LOCKED IN, getting people drinks quick and moving onto the next. This was one of the best, most efficient bartending performances I have ever seen. Almost as efficient as a Philadelphia Eagles QB sneak. Almost. You can also bring outside food which is IDEAL, as I saw some people walking in with a couple pizzas. That's a vet move, I'll be ready next time. Also, get the grape funbag for a drink if you're feeling adventurous. Well even if you're not feeling adventurous get the grape funbag. Have I ever lied to you, my dear reader? All in all, I can't imagine a better place to watch a game. I love The Garage and I love the city of Philadelphia. Passion oozes out of the streets and the people. I'll be back, and with pizza next time. IG @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov__
