Great bar, which allows you to eat cheesesteaks inside their restaurant for $5. The bar staff was awesome and allowed us to order drinks and food while we waited on our cheesesteaks from Angelo's. The prices are really good and have a large bar for parties. Also cozy seating in the corner for couples. read more

Great place to order Mexican type food to go or enjoy with your friends outside on the sidewalks. Place is clean, though in the summer time the mosquitoes tend to linger by the seating areas, hard to fly out of those plastic dividers once they're in, I got bitten several times and there is nothing I can do to get away, I had to end my dinner early to take home and finish eating. The food is amazing. I give it 4 stars overall for taste and quality as well as quantity. The mussels were very flavorful. Unfortunately I'm not the biggest Mexican southwest fan, so I can't judge the taste of their food compared to other establishments of the same type. They have a window where you can order and pick up to go. Besides having a clean establishment with some solid list of food choices, I also think it's important for the business itself to have some form of ethic. I found my car one closing night when they pushed their heavy trash filled bin right in front of my driver side door. Luckily I'm able to slide myself in, otherwise I would have to climb in through the passenger side. Obviously the message I'm getting here is: don't park here. I understand that it's a business, but it's also in a residential neighborhood. Due to covid they are already taking up space from their outdoor seating, like other restaurants out there. If you're going to use space, at least be mindful of the situation: it's hard to find parking in this neighborhood. People gotta get home. There is so much corner space on the block to put the trash. Stopped here for dinner on Saturday night around 6:30. Wasn't super busy, so we easily got a table in the dining area. They also have bar seating too if you'd rather be there. Wait staff were super attentive and friendly too! We ordered the a pitcher of the guava flavored margarita, which served about three each to my husband and I for $29, which is a great deal! Our appetizer was the Ranchero chicken wings, which I would highly recommend: the sauce is just a little bit spicy but also mustardy and zesty and they're served with a homemade ranch which is so tasty. You really just need to try them for yourself! They also have a seitan version for those who'd prefer a meatless option. For mains we ordered the al pastor tacos, the chorizo tacos, and the beef enchiladas. The tacos come in threes, either soft or hard shell, topped with diced onion and cilantro. I would definitely order the al pastor again: the pork was tender and perfectly pineapple-y. The chorizo left a bit to be desired but still not bad. The enchiladas were also good! Comes with 2 and a side of rice. The sauce is more of a green sauce, which I enjoyed way more than the red sauce sometimes seen enchiladas. Found this place while exploring south street. A friend and I just wanted to grab some tacos before getting tattoos. We came across this cute little building that reminded me of being on an island- brick exterior, a dining and bar entrance separated, good foliage, and old style lighting. We immediately had great service, and with COVID 19 it blew us away how friendly the waitress was. We were immediately sat and offered menus. We got tacos and a quesadilla. Both were great. Complimentary chips and salsa. The good salsa too, not the one that taste like tomato soup. I had a margarita and the waitress made sure I was good and even offered to top me off with the extra bit that had been made. Friendly, polite, good food, and good service. My friend and I were HUGE fans of the adobe cafe on passayunk. We were disappointed to hear about it closing, but excited to hear about the opening in south Philly. We went tonight and unfortunately did not have the same experience. They must have switched chefs because the food was no where near as good as the food we had in the past. The food was pretty bland. We got nachos and enchiladas. Would not go back for the food. They said they have karaoke (the Adobe on passayunk was famous for their karaoke!) but unsure where they would do that since there is no stage/clear area for karaoke. Hopefully it gets better. We sat at the bar and the service was amazing . I have to say the happy hour specials are great for this city. I've attached a menu. My partner is a taco aficionado so for her to say the tacos were good, well then they are very good. You can get your tacos with a choice of soft or hard taco shells. We got the chicken and steak fajitas. They were very good. Two recommendations would be as follows: I would like to see more vegetables in the fajitas and how about giving your customers four tortillas up front vs having to pay $1.50 for additional tortilla. I had been looking for this place for a couple years, not realizing they moved from Passyunk. I knew I went to a Mexican restaurant with amazing seitan wings and I could never find it. Once I sat down and looked at the menu, I realized this was the place I had been before! Lots of vegan and vegetarian options, and great service. Ordered the seitan wings for an app (obvi) and they did not disappoint. Next time I want to try the vegan combo with wings, 'beef' tips and nachos. I had black bean enchiladas with rice for the main course. The margaritas are really good as well. I highly recommend a visit while it's still warm, the outdoor dining setup was great. Now, I appreciate writing down orders for accuracy, but she whipped out her phone to take a note. The orders were not complicated at all.. guac for the table, 2 orders of shrimp tacos, 1 steak tacos, 1 al pastor tacos ALL soft... FOOD WAS GREAT though. Now my only real gripe is the pure trickery that was attempted.. the bill came everyone whipped out there card and of course I look at the bill . 18% gratuity added! To be honest I did not catch any sort of disclosure on the menu that all checks are gratted. I can understand parties of 6 or more but 4? Plus I would have tipped 25% since Covid hurt the industry... Then she literally did not come back. At all. I waved down sweet Dolce, she took it and seeming a bit stoned the blonde girl went "oh right...." The blonde girl brought it back to us processed correctly without the original receipt and the credit card slip DOES NOT say that there was gratuity already added SO people are over tipping her for very, very , very lack luster service. I've spent 10+ years in the industry so I know the tricks. But it was a bunch of BS. Splitting checks usually works out to the person's favor but might be a pain, but ya do it carry on.
