The atmosphere is what stands out right away. It has that authentic sports bar vibe without trying too hard. TVs going, people locked into games, and just an overall relaxed energy. It feels like a place you can come to regularly, not just once. It didn't feel like a tourist spot at all, more like somewhere locals actually hang out. Food-wise, it's solid bar food done right. Wings, burgers, and the kind of stuff you actually want when you're watching a game or just kicking back. Nothing fancy, but it hits and fits the environment. The drinks were on point too. Good beer selection, solid cocktails, and plenty of options if you're just trying to chill for a while. The setup with TVs and bar games makes it easy to stay longer than you planned. The staff and the crowd both added to the experience. It felt welcoming, people were comfortable, and you don't get that awkward feeling walking into a new place. Only thing to keep in mind is it's very laid back and first come first served. Depending on when you go, you might have to wait or stand around a bit. Overall, if you're looking for a real sports bar with good food, drinks, and a local feel, this is definitely a spot worth checking out.

A longtime establishment in the area, I've been here a couple of times now. On weekends, they have live music, and based on the crowd we saw, looks like a popular spot. For a table, there is a $200 minimum we were informed.

Fort McKinley is a South San Francisco-based restaurant that, according to their website, serves "Contemporary Asian Cuisine with a focus on Filipino." The establishment replaced the former Intramuros Restaurant space in 2012, offering a full bar lounge as well as banquet rooms for private parties. Known for their lunch buffets, nightclub, and special events, Fort McKinley has been a popular destination among local Filipinos. Not sure if the regulars who have been frequenting this place are pinoy cuisine gourmands, but as one who has high standards for good Filipino food, I can say that our meal was a total letdown. Most if not all of the plates were dull, lacking the bold, vibrant, rich flavours for which dishes of the Philippines are known. I did have hope for the desserts since the Coconut Halo Halo looked decent - I was initially intrigued by the uniqueness and cool presentation of the Bibingka Souffle, but, sadly, was disappointed again due to the sulfur aftertaste. Service was decent, but nothing remarkable enough to forgive the lack luster supper or to consider giving Fort McKinley a second try.

My band has…read morebeen renting a shared studio space from HITwall for several years and Will and his brother Matt have always had our backs, professionally taking care of a water-logged wall after someone left the window open during a rainstorm and tracking down some of our missing equipment after one of our roommates moved out. The studios are located in an industrial area and yes, sometimes the hallways or rooms smell kind of funky, but cleanliness and air quality are two cuts above all other rehearsal studios I've every used or visited thanks to the care taken by Will and Matt.

Woohoo, my 100th review!!! :))…read more After looking at a bunch of rehearsal places, H.I.T. Wall was definitely my first choice: plenty of parking, good noise insulation, big windows to fresh air, well-built secure rooms with individual alarms, good vibe inside and out, and 24-hour access. The people I happened to run into all seem really nice, too. The studio is located in a relatively quiet area in SSF, and pretty safe to get in and out even at late hours. Both the front and back doors are locked at all times, and our studio also has its own alarm system for added security/safety. We've been renting the place for six months now and I find out why H.I.T. Wall has gotten the reputation in town. Just to give you a quick example: one of the outlets in the room got bent from stepping on an extension cord. Called to let them know - very responsive and was fixed the next day, IMPRESSIVE!!! Well, not to mention other things like forgetting my keys and calling one of the brothers (did I mention he is cute too!? LOL!!) to let me in my room. He came down from SF, very accommodating I have to say...... The owners, Mat and Will (two brothers), are responsible landlords and know their tenants well. They seem like they are in the recording industry for the right reasons--to keep the Bay Area music scene alive and make a solid place for bands to work on their crafts for years to come. H.I.T. Wall deserves a 5 star review for the following reasons: 1) noise insulation (soundproof), 2) cost (reasonable rent), 3) convenient location in the Peninsula, 4) lots of privacy, and most importantly, 5) GREAT SERVICE!!!

The restaurant has a full bar and dining area. The place has the feel of a family Italian restaurant. It is quaint and comfortable. We both ordered the calamari steak which came with both soup and salad included. The soup was a minestrone - 9/10 - which was delicious, hearty, and felt like it was simmering all day. I think I could've easily just eaten the soup and salad and would have been very happy. The house salad - 8/10 - had a wonderful homemade Italian dressing. This was the best house salad I have ever had. Calamari steak - 7/10 - this was cooked very nicely and was piled high with garlic. The garlic wasn't overpowering at all and mixed well with the tartar sauce. The mash potatoes - 8.5/10 - were amazing and creamy. The menu had a wide variety of dishes. Given how good everything we had was, I would guess everything on the menu is likely just as good. Last but not least our server Audrey was great. She was attentive, pleasant, always there when we needed something, but never there too much. Audrey made the whole experience just that much better. I would highly recommend.
