    Hangtown rocks the house.

After several recent visits, I am bumping to 5 stars. New pinball games, a friendly community, great music, great beer on tap, and an excellent staff. I no longer have any excuse to hold back that last star. Cheers!

The halloween-themed Pacifica Rock n Roll Flea Market this past Sunday featured live music which was super loud but super good! Surf Monster, Insect Surfers, Douglas Von Irvin's Carnival, The Freak Accident... all of the bands were amazing! Lots of awesome surf music and rock tunes, and more importantly a decent sound system. Great atmosphere, the tavern walls and ceiling covered with colorful surfboards, skateboards, a skate bike (unicycle with skateboard rear wheels), stickers, posters, customized license plates, and a bit of halloween decor for this special event. A pool table, shuffleboard, and pinball machines in the back as well. We had no problems finding seating inside, with a good view of the stage, even with a growing crowd. More tables and seating were available outside, with a flea market set up in the outdoor area in the back, vendors selling all kinds of merchandise including cute purses and customized lamps, and a boatload of record stands too. The bar staff provided helpful and sufficient service. I enjoyed the alpha acid west coast IPA, though there were plenty of beer options to choose from on the menu. There was also a food truck out front, so we had a bite to eat from Satay By The Bay while enjoying our time at Winters Tavern.

Serving Pliny the Younger during a blackout? Five stars! $10 pours. The power cost me an ice cold beer, but 2025's version is delicious, and I didn't need to stand in line for hours to get to try it. Props to the band as well!

    Live and loud band!!

Don't find these classic old-school taverns around anymore. It is a divey bar so expect strong drinks, lots of memorabilia and time worn interior. What they have is live music from eclectic local bands. With that, the crowd is a mix of college to senior crowd. The senior crowd actually got quite raucous, almost creating a mosh pit! The young gentleman working the bar kept the drinks flowing and made them strong as I requested. **They have a great set of rotating local beers on tap** In and outdoor seating. There was a lot of toilet paper rolls in the bathroom that I appreciate. The sink had warm water and soap! I appreciate that, too!

Dropped by last Saturday night and it was a lot of fun. It's what a Tavern should be, happy people, drinking and enjoying the music. I had one of their delicious hot steak sandwiches that were being grilled outside. The two young guys who opened up for another band were having a great time jamming and playing their guitars. No pretentiousness, put a smile on my face!

Fellow musicians - avoid this guy if you can when dealing with band comps and payout, or risk verbal disrespect without warrant.

Great tap list and very music oriented. Small, intimate stage setup allows you to be up close and personal with some awesome bands.

Service was excellent. Friday's soup of the day is clam chowder. It is a $6 add-on if you order an entree. The clam chowder comes with little oyster crackers that I like. The free bread arrives warm making the butter easier to spread. As for the prime rib $45, I liked it. Sometimes they don't give you the bone. This time around, I got lucky. The outer bark was flavorful. The inside wasn't chewy. My knife cut right through the tender meat the first try. This was a good meal.

I thoroughly believe their crab sandwich is better than Fisherman's Wharf and better than New England Lobster company in Burlingame. And cheaper too. They're closing soon, as in shutting their doors, so run here to try their crab sandwich before they do. They only have a certain number a day, not sure how many, but people have been buying them so they keep running out. It's real crab folks. Not fillers. Not junk. It's amazing and good with their salad. Gosh, just thinking about their crab sandwich is reminding me to grab a couple more while I can.

I made reservations for Father's Day since my Dad was interested in checking it out as well. Right when I stepped in, I felt like I was in a touristy part of the island with the decor. Lots of tiki and beach items. The space itself isn't too big, so there are some high tops, tables, and an outdoor seating area--but tables are kinda close together. There's a lot of local music playing, which I loved. The staff who served or helped us were nice and friendly. Our food did take a while to come out at times, but we weren't in a rush.0 From the starters, savory entrees, sweet dishes, and veggie options, it was hard to choose among them. We ended up sharing the Spam Fries, which were very flavorful, salty, and crispy. It was good, and I'd recommend it if you like spam! I had the Silog Breakfast with Sisig, and my Dad had the Impossible Loco Moco. I found my dish to be just fine; it didn't blow me away. It was tangy, but I wish there were more flavor. My Dad said his dish was decent. I'd probably order something else if I were to come back. If you're looking for something distinct . Find the restaurant in Westborough Square with parking in the free lot. My little taste of the 808 here makes my Dad and I miss it even more--mahalo Hula Hoops!
