It's not too pretty on the outside but like everyone says, "It's what's on the inside that counts!" Go ahead on in; you won't be sorry! I got the fish and shrimp platter. It comes with catfish but they let you choose your fish if you want something different! It comes with 2 sides so I got fries and fried okra. The fried okra was the star of that show for me! Also, I switched out the catfish for Blue Whiting. Everything was well seasoned and delish. My husband ordered the Blue Whiting platter which was 2 whiting filets and a side. He considered getting the etouffee so while we ate she brought out a small taste of it for us to sample for next time. (And there will be a next time!) The girl at the counter (owner??) is SO STINKIN NICE! My gosh, talk about great with customers! (Cutie with fun glasses.) Hello hello hello!! Let me start by saying I was blessed and impressed by this establishment. I had a business meeting in Waco today and decided to find a different place to eat. I yelped this restaurant and did not know what to expect but the reviews were good. The young lady that greet me was polite and professional. She started with an introduction sample of etouffee, and just the smell as it passed into my hands made me smile. I decided to place an order and try the boudin balls, the crab cakes, this amazing banana foster cake, a big red, and a combination plate that had 3 fried shrimp, 3 fried oysters, hush puppies, grilled toast, and two large catfish fillets. Run, run do not casually walk to give this restaurant your money and your service. The hospitality was top tier, it's a very low key place, casual clothing but a first class experience. What an amazing little gem of a restaurant. If you want good Cajun/Southern food then this is the place to eat. We were enthusiastically greeted as soon as we walked in. They walked us through the option on the menu and gave us a sample of their etouffee, and we were sold. It was really good! The only thing that detract a little bit from the experience was the food was served on disposable plates, but with food this good at the prices they were charging this was just a minor observation. We had the catfish and flounder Atchafalaya which was so flavorful. Wife had the shrimp & snow crab boil and had to get a side of their yummy etouffee!! Went there the first time today and boy was it was oh so good. Evidently from what my mom shared with us today the restaurant has expanded some. On the market side there is about ten metal picnic style tables. Their hours are a bit different than stated here on yelp. They now open at 11 AM and not 7. They are closed on the weekend to go get fresh seafood from LA according to my mother. I had the etouffee and my wife had the crawdad Po boy sub. She enjoyed hers and I loved mine. The potato salad was excellent and the bread was great at soaking up the sauce. My wife liked the etouffee sauce. It also comes w a hush puppy and red beans and rice. On the restaurant side they have more seating that is raised but we stayed on the other side for my mother's sake. Dining was casual and the owner was very nice. The market sells fresh seafood. The surroundings are a bit basic but that doesn't concern me a bit as I am at places for the food. This visit to try here was so very worth it. We just did a quick weekend trip from Ft. Worth to Waco and the 3 of us decided to try out this highly rated Cajun seafood restaurant and we were not disappointed. We got there around 5pm and were met immediately by the owner who offered us a tasting of their crawfish Étouffée which was really tasty. We looked over their expansive menu and ordered the 3-piece crawfish boudin (again, very tasty), a shrimp Po' Boy which was gigantic, the fried seafood special with 3 shrimp, 3 oysters and 2 catfish filets. Finally, my husband ordered the Colossal Shrimp Boil with head-on shrimp, corn and sausage. We've had a lot of boils and he said it was the absolute best one he'd ever had. I tasted one of his shrimp and it was flavored all the way through and delicious. All their food is made to order including all the breading done at the time you order. I mention this because the breading was on the edge of being too spicy for me and mentioned that to the owner and he said to let him know the next time we come and they can leave out some heat on the breading. Prices were reasonable for fresh, bountiful seafood and averaged out to around $10/appetizer and $16-$22 per entree. All in all, a wonderful dinner and I'm glad we found it. We'll be back the next time we drive through or stay in Waco for a weekend! read more

We stopped here because we couldn't get in at one of our favorite restaurants due to the Baylor Family night and Baylor game. But, this was really best place we could've stumbled upon. I ate the 3 piece fried catfish meal and it comes with a hush puppy, a piece of buttered toast, and two sides! Everything about this plate was so delicious. The two sides I got was etouffe and potato salad. Wow, everything was homemade even their tartar sauce. And to top it off, we finished with their banana pudding. Best banana pudding I've ever had.
