This place should be a lot busier than it is. The food was great and seemed fresh. The building is gorgeous and has a very colorful and fun theme. I recommend trying this place at least once.

DELICIOUS! I forgot I was in Waco tbh. I went here with my parents, and we all gave it 5/5 stars!…read more Joshua was an excellent waiter--very friendly and helpful. My parents had issues with the service the first time they came, around when Tia Juanita's first opened. But today, our food came out quickly and correctly...and it was SO GOOD! The drinks, the apps, the entrees--all of them were full of flavor and really tasty. I would describe the menu as Cajun, Tex-Mex fusion. We had the crawfish queso (bomb), shrimp/fish tacos (fresh and bomb but small), shrimp quesadillas (also bomb), and the hush puppies (slightly less bomb and v small, but still yum). The vibe inside is a little overwhelming. It's pretty loud, and it's worse when there's live music, I hear. But it's a fun, immersive type of experience if you're looking for a more upbeat dining experience :)

Tried to get her attention several times to tell her about the shrimp as she was passing by the table , she kept walking, so I asked another waiter to send a mgr to table. Nice social environment

We liked the food so much that we stopped here on the way back from OK We got the fried shrimp basket and shrimp poboy the first time and got the Boom boom Shrimp starter, Atchafalaya Etoufee and, Gumbo and rounded it off with Beignets the second time on Mother's day. Off its first appearance, the restaurant appears as your classic no-frills, get-what-you-asked for establishment. There is lots of outdoor seating, very fair pricing, and a surprisingly extensive menu; I doubt you'll fail to find something you enjoy here. Overall it seemed like a location that would be bumping in conjunction with Baylor college nights, post church service, or otherwise Waco-oriented affairs. My only complaint was really the smell. We came near close when some workers were cleaning, however there was an apparent chemical stench within the patio, between the inside seating and outdoor seating. My partner ordered the sausage po boy, while I ordered the fried chicken plate, wish mashed potatoes & gravy + green beans. The wait was rather long, which can be attributed towards the chicken's cook time - which might be front scratch. After we got our plates, I certainly couldn't complain. The chicken was decently sized and decadent with flavor. Consistent, strong Cajun spicing littered the tray and chicken, while its interior was extremely juicy and filled with flavor; additionally, it still maintained structure and provided a nice crunch on the surface. The mashed potatoes were equally as enjoyable. The gravy complemented the potatoes well, and established an equilibrium through texture. The green beans however, were not my favorite. They initially appeared fine on the surface, but became watered down and lacking in flavor the farther down the bowl you went. I would not be surprised if these beans were canned. I would certainly find myself eating here again. Its biggest appeals are the prices, genuine quality of food, and disposition. It is not perfect, but it is more than satisfactory. If you cannot get over the minor inconveniences that you may run into here, then you probably shouldn't be eating Cajun anyways.

Had a dozen oysters, which were very large, nicely, chilled, and served with a nice accompaniment of red sauce, horseradish, lemon, and crackers. I then had the whole fried fish, which was a nice size portion and very tasty and came with two different kinds of beans, one of which had some tiny shrimp. Almost forgot, there were three or perhaps four grilled shrimp on top of the fish, which were delicious. French fries were good too. I was very impressed with the food at this place. My server, Adamari (on left in photo) was very welcoming, attentive, and made great recommendations! She made a very good meal even better! The young lady that brought the food to me, not pictured in the photo, was also very good at her job. I thought the prices were very reasonable. This may be the best seafood restaurant in Waco. This place had a nice atmosphere as well. Three cheers to the oyster shucker and chef.

Thought we'd give it a try seeing as it was 10 minutes off I-35. Found the small place and it was exactly what we were looking for! The chips and salsa was super tasty, the half and half tea was on point, and you can't go wrong with a Mexican coke! Ordered the cheese enchiladas plate and the wife got a quesadilla. We were pleasantly satisfied and they hit the spot. Tbh though, the beans and rice won my heart being so flavorful and delicious. The service was superb and I appreciated their thoughtfulness of checking on us to make sure we were doing ok. All in all, we highly recommend you visit them if you're in the area, we got a table quick around 7 pm and it was a quaint epic time! Try it soon and you won't regret!

Their homemade chips are light and crispy, and their salsa is super flavorful while not overly spicy. It hits that happy medium between my husband and me. Breakfast is also great. You go in and pretty much grab a table unless there's a line with people waiting. Service is always friendly and efficient. Prices are fair. Typical mom and pop type interior with a mixture of booth seating and tables with metal chairs. It's always clean. Branch out and try something new. Highly recommend.
