The caldito de Camaron y Pulpo was good. The tortillas hechas a mano were so good as well. The service was good and fast. Ambiance was nice with the live music. Husband and I had dinner here for the first time Thurs night. I had small Camaron Coctel and fried fish tacos (without the rice salad). Husband had the Molcajete Mar Y Tierra. I did not care for the shrimp cocktail, but the fish on the my tacos was EXCELLENT. Husband liked his dinner ok. Service was okay (except husband received his entree before I got my appetizer or entree). Con: Cleanliness. Both of our menus were sticky. Mine was splattered with something? Small amount of debris on table when we sat down. Husband said the men's restroom was filthy. Cleanliness is a big issue for me, so not sure I will return. Unfortunate because I really enjoyed my tacos. read more

The outside needs help . Kind of Trashy. I've never been because the outside is not inviting. My steering wheel says no , looks yukky. Very strict about cleanliness inside and outside. read more

This place should be a lot busier than it is. The food was great and seemed fresh. The building is gorgeous and has a very colorful and fun theme. I recommend trying this place at least once. read more

Good portions, the small shrimp ceviche was more than enough for two people, and the guacamole was just good, solid avocado, no attempts to make it into something it wasn't. We both had shrimp tacos with a spicy pink sauce. Good flavors and textures all around. The lemon/lime margarita was one of the best that I have had in over a year. Waitress was friendly and helpful. Only reason I did not give five stars was that the Michelada was a bit watery and flat, and, yes, it was busy, but the floor could've used a mop up. I like El Mar a lot. The service is super, and the food is authentic and fresh. I wish whatever cleaner they use wasn't so penetrating an odor. It almost knocks me out. Some people may not notice it, but it seems industrial strength. read more

The food is unique and mixed drinks are flashy but that is it. We come into town from time to time and have eaten here with our group 3 times with the same experience. I don't drink alcohol but my friends do and they liked the flashy drinks but even they said they won't come back again. The same thing happened every time. We get seated, waitress takes orders, waitress brings food then poof disappears. Never a drink refill unless you walk to the bar. Someone had to go find our waitress to ask for the check. She would have made more money if she would have come back to the table because we would have added drinks. read more

Not going to lie this place has been my favorite seafood place however today for Mother's Day i had the worse experience ever! I understand the wait was long due to Mother's Day however after waiting almost 3 hours when we got our food some of the orders were wrong (understandable we had a big party) but we all got our food but 2 plates when we ask to speak to the manager he was very rude and disrespectful to us! Mario "the manager" made sure everyone in the restaurant was aware what was going on, he started yelling at us his customers and as a manager I find that very rude and disrespectful! Not sure where he got his management skills from but the owner of the place really needs to look into it and maybe push him to get a degree in management because obviously he does not know who the customers are! read more

All we had were shrimp and fish ceviche tostadas. They we're not gross but not delicious either. Mostly it seems like both the shrimp and fish were boiled in water, not cooked in lemon like real ceviche. The pineapple agua fresca was good. The waitress was very polite. read more

We just finished dinner here and can't say enough good things about EL MAR seafood and Grill! We ordered the Shrimp Cevichive. The small order was enough to be a dinner serving. Done just right, a flavorful balance of lime,onions,and Shrimp. It's delicious on its own but as soon as your seated thecstaff bring homemade tostada shells and individual foil wrapped crackers. The sauces on the table are abroad variety,ranging from Tabasco to a black sauce I've never had before. I recommended you try them all,very tasty! My wife and I split a Shimp Quesadilla. The plate came to our table with two overstuffed crisp tortillas filled with a high quality rich Monterey Jack. The Shrimp were seasoned and grilled perfectly and lots of them. Red snapper was waaaay over cooked or just old and rubbery. Rice was tasteless and instant. Beer was flat, couldn't drink it. Grilled vegetables were raw and cold (not grilled). Shrimp was overcooked to the point you could not chew it. Seafood and no lemons, just no juice limes. Ask for salad dressing. Said only had ranch.Turns out that was a lie. They they say there was italian dressing on the salad already, there was not! She said all they have is ranch. When we were asked how it was, they didn't care that it wasn't good. The main guy said you can't please everyone. When it comes to food, we are easy to please. It's not a matter of taste. It was bad food. I've never been told it was my fault for not liking the food. Not one attempt to make it right, redo the food or anything. After reading the reviews, which I should have done first, I see he blames a lot of folks for bad taste buds. So if you feel like throwing money away. Just put it in your toilet. It's not worth the drive, nor the stomach ache afterward. read more
