Determined it was a burned pump and quoted $350 to repair. But he included a 2nd $85 charge for another return visit. Other operators stock parts and don't require a 2nd visit. I even asked ahead if he would have parts for this model and he assured me he would have them. I ended up just buying a new dishwasher. When the installers came, they found that the hose was clogged and so I shouldn't have even needed a replacement. This should have been a very simple repair. Instead I wasted $85 on an incorrect diagnosis and spent $600 on a new dishwasher I didn't need. Be sure to confirm that repairs can be made the same day. And be sure that your service tech does a thorough inspection of hose lines.

I called around some other appliance places to try to get somebody out right away to try to salvage the rest of my food, but nobody could come out the same day. Five star appliance, on the other hand, after saying that I was very concerned over my food, managed to find a way to fit me in for the day. The technician who arrived on time was very kind and very thorough and diagnosed me with a broken compressor. We talked about some options and he let me know what the warranty would look like and other details and helped me make a decision on how to proceed. I did choose to go with buying a new refrigerator and I think that was a good decision and 5 star helped me make it. I will definitely call them in the future for other appliance repair needs. Their pricing was fair. They were prompt and they were courteous.

Do yourself a favor call the manufacturer and request repair from them. They will actually send a certified tech out. That's not gonna try and upsell you apart that you actually don't need because of lack of total investigation of your issue. That was the problem. The tech was lazy. He didn't complete the job and said he was up selling me a higher priced part that I didn't even need. What a crappy business.
