Stopped here by pure chance...in town for business. What a hidden gem. Everything I tried tasted like it was made in house and not the usual frozen or boxes affair. From the country fried steak to the delicious butter roles with pulled pork and greens, I loved it all. So much I went for thirds =) Desert stole the show though...home made banana pudding better than Gramas and buttermilk pie. Good thing I didn't start with that. My family and I have always loved this buffet. Their fried chicken is by far the best I've had and they keep their buffet full and stocked all the time. I don't review restaurants often on Yelp, but we had an incident at the Fried Tomato Buffet this week that I thought I'd mention. When we arrived we paid for our meals (about $24 and some change) and my wife gave, who I think was the owner, $30. The owner put the cash my wife gave him in the drawer and took a $5 bill out and had to access another drawer to get more change. He then put the $5 bill back into the drawer and gave my wife some change, thinking she gave him $25. It was a just a mistake but in his defense, he was just trying to protect his business and didn't want to get ripped off. He offered to check the video surveillance cameras which we said that would be fine and he took my wife's word without doing that and gave her the correct change. While we were sitting down eating, he brought two slices of cake ($10 value) and said he was sorry for the confusion at the register. It's business owners like this that keep their customers happy and I know we will go back again and again. read more

This is the cheapest canned food restaurant..No effort whatsoever to to flavor the food. First was charged $23.00 for wife and I had to wait 30 minutes to get one of the 6 or 7 empty tables that we could see then on the buffet you had fried chicken baked chicken bbq chicken and for the main meat entree buffalo chicken wings ... The pans were constantly empty of food ended up eating under cooked Lima beans dried out pork and some Mac n cheese that had to scrape from the pan to get a partial spoonful..... Have eaten here before seemed ok but it has really gone down since then . This restaurant seems to cater to take out and basic food.... Trust me go elsewhere ..... The food is pretty decent. Basic country cooking. I cannot say the same for our experience. First of all, the place is LOUD. Like really loud. Music, kids screaming it's overbearing. We also had to wait 20 minutes for the chicken. By the time the line was down, there wasn't much chicken left..... so we had to wait even longer. Really disappointed. read more

If I could give a one star, I would. I went today specifically to get chicken livers. When I went to fix a to go plate there were no livers, so I went ahead and got the other items I wanted (two plates and some cups.) I decided, after asking about the time for some livers and was told 15 minutes, that I would go ahead and pay for what I had and come back for the livers. I took the plates to my truck and went back in (five min.) I asked again in 15 minutes and was told 5 more min. In 5 more mins., now a total of 25 mins. I asked again and was told the cook is taking them up now. I waited 5 more mins. then went back to the door to the kitchen went in and saw the cook just starting to put the livers into the fryer. One of the ladies that I had asked came and told me that I could not come into the area. I told the lady that I could do one thing and that was to get my ass out of there. read more

This was delicious, excellent food. The selection was generous and tasty. Looking for a place in Newnan to eat and thru Yelp found this. It was crowded - parking lot was full - but there was no waiting and the lines moved at a good pace. We will surround back again for another great meal! read more

We started coming here for Sunday dinner. A great place for friends and family. There's fried chicken, baked chicken and barbecued chicken. Meatloaf, chicken fried steak collard greens soup macaroni and cheese turnips and cabbage and much more. They make their stuffing filled with chicken and let's not forget the fried green tomatoes. What a surprise! We don't usually do buffets but decided to stop in after a long trip from Florida. It was delicious. I would bring my granny here. And that is saying a lot. All I can say is wow, this place has problems. Imagine getting excited about trying the newest restaurant in Mcdonough, Ga and being turned away at the door. I just don't understand a business that states it's hours of operation are 11am- 9PM not allowing customers in to eat at 8:32pm. My wife and I were told the restaurant is not open past 8:30 for dine-in guest. I guess it's back to eating at Golden Corral for me. This place will not get a dollar from my wallet. As we turned to leave, at least 8 other people were walking in only to get the same treatment as us. My suggestion to this poorly run business is to post correct hours in your advertisements and buildings. Funny they did have a note on the door stating the plates in use are foam disposables due to a dishwasher failure. Sad, simply sad!! read more

My wife and I was stuck at the cancer treatment center on our anniversary. I was receiving my chemo. Well the hospital found out it was our anniversary and made reservations for us. After I got my treatment done we went to our hotel room and showered and changed. The limo picked us up around 730 and took us there. We'll we went in and there was a line but the lady said yall come on with me. Well there was our name on the table. We ate and had a pleasant time. The food was very good. Especially the fried green tomatoes. We are from Mobile al and I wish they'd build one here. We at least I go there evert would weeks and I can eat there if I want to them lol. read more

This is some great southern cooking. If you like great home style food this is your place. The fried green tomatoes are very good plus you have a good variety of choices each day. The selection changes daily but some item are there each day. I like to go on fish day and chicken liver days. Sunday has great souther style dressing and the fried chicken is great and served everyday. The salad bar is good and has very fresh items. The only thing is you must be patient it is so popular that the bar depleted quickly for two reasons large crowds and some people take portions like there will never be any more on the bar. I just wish people were more courteous not the restaurants fault they try to keep the bar stocked. read more

This was a pretty average buffet. One good thing is you could tell the food was home cooked or had that home cooked feeling. Not alot of options for a buffet the food was pretty average. Wasn't good...wasn't bad...just average. Mashed potatoes and fried chicken were above average! If I had to choose between this and golden corral I'd choose golden corral. This is a good spot to take your mom and dad or grand parents. Or if you get tired of golden corral and want something that seems more freshly prepared. I may go back again.
