I went on a Friday and it was packed. You pay up front and find yourself a seat. I paid $10.85 for the lunch buffet and drink was included. The staff were nice and the food was nice and hot. They kept bringing out the fried chicken. It was a mountain load. Some items didn't refilled as much. Fried chicken had good seasoning. I don't like tomatoes but the fried green tomatoes were awesome. Tasted like fried pickles but bigger and not as sour. The pound cake looks dry but it was sweet and moist. Brownies too. To start, I get this a chain buffet joint, so my expectations were not sky high walking in. We ended up here for my mother's 60th birthday and I will give the staff credit, we called ahead and while they normally do not take reservations, they were able to set aside some tables for the 11 of us upon our arrival, so when we arrived on what was a surprisingly busy Wednesday night, our wait was quite short. Additionally, the waitress we had was phenomenal. I mean, she nothing short of amazing. Now, down to the food, which is what we all have come to this place for! Our biggest gripe with the food is that they kept running out. Things would run out and it would take the staff 5 - 10 minutes (not exaggerating) to restock. I mean, for a buffet this is quite the negative when you have to stand and hover over a particular location bc you want to get some fresh rolls, or tomatoes or Salisbury steak before it once again disappears. I say we spent just as much time waiting on food as we did eating it, which was quite the turn off relating to our experience. Additionally, I get the whole day rotation for particular foods...but putting a southern staple such as Mac N Cheese on rotation and not every night? I mean, COME ON! Lastly, the meat options were scarce and kind of disappointing...they had fried chicken, Salisbury steak and fried pork chops on our night. For a buffet that boasts its options, I feel the meats were grossly under-represented. Overall, this place offers a decent selection of food for half the price ($8.88) of the nearby big name buffet, but also seemed to offer half the items and selection. So, while Fried Tomatoes was not bad for what it was, just keep in mind that you get what you pay for. read more

I have never seen a buffet with a line out the door like this one has. The food was great and I don't like these types of buffets. I personally call them troughs. This is the best trough I have ever had the pleasure of dining. We have found whenever we go to a buffet mid day between lunch and supper, 2:00 to 5:00, the food is stale. That was definitely NOT the case at Fried Tomato Buffet. We have been eating at Fried Tomato Buffet for a long time but we have had some issues with some of the servers (most of them are nice to us) but apparently the owner doesn't care about the customers that keep his business open because he refuses to reply to our emails so we will not be eating there anymore, if the owner changes his attitude about his customers then we will eat there again. read more

This was, hands down, the best Southern food buffet I've eaten in YEARS. I was totally amazed that my husband, who isn't a fan of Southern cuisine, went back for seconds. The food was fresh, and hot and the green beans were NOT from a CAN! You have to pay BEFORE they take your name on the list. It cuts down on the sharing. And there's a table time limit of 75 minutes so people don't sit there for hours and stuff themselves. The price was less than $10 per person for Sunday lunch. I will be back. Wish I knew before hand this was the after church get together in Newnan. This place was beyond packed and we had to wait 20 minutes for a seat. Most of the food was seasoned well especially the chicken (fried and baked) some was overcooked the country fried steak. The other choices seemed to be extremely greasy especially the dinner rolls which seemed to be filled with butter. However, if you're used to that type of artery clogging cuisine you'll be right at home. Stopped here by pure chance...in town for business. What a hidden gem. Everything I tried tasted like it was made in house and not the usual frozen or boxes affair. From the country fried steak to the delicious butter roles with pulled pork and greens, I loved it all. So much I went for thirds =) Desert stole the show though...home made banana pudding better than Gramas and buttermilk pie. Good thing I didn't start with that. On the way home for a day trip with the kids we stopped here. I thought it was odd to have to pay before putting my name on the waiting list. The next thing I noticed was tubs of dirty dishes in various areas. Surely these should be of highest priority to demo e from customer site. Drinks....seems like every where there was a shelf there was a pitcher...or several pitchers of drinks. These within easy access if any guest. Sorry....this is not acceptable in today's world.
