So, I am the kind of person that does not believe all reviews and I like to check things out for myself. So i read so not so nice reviews about this Eye Doctors office. So i went in with not much of an expectation, but I still expected good service. I walked in. The place, was very pleasant to walk into. There was a huge selection of frames. I was greeted very politely at the front desk, asking me if I had an appointment and I had not and I was told that there's no problem. I was asked if i had eye insurance and I did. It was called VSP i believe when I sat down, I knew I would have to wait a little bit. About 20 minutes later my name was called and I was taken to the Doctors office Who was very nice, Very knowledgeable and just set me at ease. He performed my eye exam explain to me what was happening with my eyes and asked me if I was wanting to get contacts or glasses. or both and I said just glasses. I was handed off to this women and I can not remember her name my bad. She sat me down went through my insurance told me what my insurance would cover and show me which frames would be covered under my insurance, and also told me if I wanted any other type of frames she gave me an estimate on how much more they would be. So at this point I walked around and looked at some of the frames and I don't know what looks good. well I must have looked like a fish out of water because all the sudden I hear did you want some help picking out frames. I said yes I have no clue, this was the manager Jacqueline. She was so cool she looked at my face pulled out a couple different frames and I found the frames I loved that look great on me. Then I sat down and the first girl that I talk to went over everything that the lenses would be I got progressive lenses with some anti glare coating and some thing that makes the glasses become sunglasses outside. she told me how much was my responsibility she Asked for half down and told me i would take care of the balance when i picked the glasses up in 2 to 3 weeks. 2 1/2. weeks later they called me and said my glasses were ready. I went and picked them up. They called me by my name and seemed excited to see the glasses on me. I put them on they checked to make sure everything was correct and told me they looked great on me. I went in for new frames this week and am so glad I did. It's always a great experience from the moment I walk in. The front staff is so lovely and Tim is super helpful with adjusting my frames. They also have an unparalleled seelction. There are Louboutin frames and DITA glasses I haven't seen any department stores or boutiques carry. Friedman Optometry literally ALWAYS has the cutest styles and I can't resist leaving with new glasses every time I come in. I just feel so confident and refreshed. This time, I left with the cutest pair of clear Miu Miu reading glasses. I've never seen anything like these. Jacqueline selected them for me and at first, I thought they were too cool for me or glasses I wouldn't wear every day, but she encouraged me to try them. I immediately felt so confident and I'm so glad she empowered me to try something new - I feel like an elevated version of myself! I wear them literally every day, and get compliments all the time. Shoutout to Jacqueline for the recommendation and being the best personal stylist! I also got to be seen by the new doctor, Dr. Friedman's granddaughter, and she was so energetic, smart, and I truly felt such a personalized level of care during my visit. It's such a reaffirming feeling to know you're in good hands. Dr. Haley is so savvy, and truly carrying on the family office's legacy. I'm excited to continue seeing her and making sure my eye health is great. First off, the reviews on here are completely false, and don't give this office the justice it deserves. I love this place, and I think it is a great store. I have been a loyal patient to this office for years. The women at the front desk are all trained professionals, and posses upbeat attitudes and sincerely kind personalities. Last year, I cracked one lens on my new Tom Ford sunglasses, and one receptionist replaced it at no cost with a smile on her face. A few ladies who I've begun to recognize, Erica and Jennine, are always super friendly and nice to me too. As well, the doctors are very comforting and make sure I understand the problem with my eye. I started going to the office seven years ago - - my eye doctor thought there was nothing wrong with my eye, even though it had been bothering me for a while and I knew something was up. My friend told me to try Dr. Friedman's office for a second opinion, and it turned out I was in desperate need of cat. surgery. In addition to the friendly service and knowledgeable doctors, the office is very professional, and tidy. The walls are arranged with assortments of glasses, making it really easy and clear to select your favorite. Lastly, my one friend, Sharell, went here and didn't like it. The office sent her a survey to fill out the positives and negatives. After sending it back, she got a gift-certificate in the mail, and was encouraged to give the office another shot, and she LOVES it now. I love this office, and I HIGHLY recommend it. read more

I have been going to Dr. Friedman's office for several years. I visited just last week for a new exam and glasses. The doctor was very experienced, friendly and attentive. He spent a lot of time with me to ensure that my new prescription was just right. He also checked for various other potential problems. I really felt well taken care of. After getting my new prescription, an optician helped me to select a new pair of glasses. She was absolutely delightful. They have an amazing selection of glasses . . . literally thousands of different glasses. They have all of the designer brands, and tons of lessor known brands as well. My personable optician helped guide me through the thousands of frames, and I found a new pair of glasses that are perfect for me. Their prices are very reasonable. The designer frames are less than the mall stores, and their lessor known brands are incredibly inexpensive. They have something for everyone. I was so impressed with their selection and prices that I also purchased a pair of sunglasess (They have tons of sunglasses). They make lenses at the office and I was able to get both of my new glasses, with my new presciption, all done in the same day. It was amazing. In a nutshell, experienced doctors, personable opticians, an amazing selction of glasses, and great prices. What more could you ask for? I highly recommend Dr. Friedman and his fantastic staff. I have been going to Dr. Friedman's office for several years (they have been at the same location for more than 20 years). I now live in the San Fernando Valley and I must drive 30 minutes to get there, but I do it because this place is the best. Great doctors, friendly helpful staff, an endless selection of frames, and really competetive prices. I love the fact that they have every brand imaginable -- its one stop shopping. Many of their frames are super stylish and hip, from well known designers, but I personally prefer their huge selection of low and medium priced frames. I can buy a new pair of reading glasses, and some sunglasses, without breaking the bank. The opticians are super knowledgeable and never pressure me to buy more than I want or need. They ladies behind the desk are incredibly friendly and all smiles. There are plenty of places closer to my new home, but none better. I read some of the reviews stating that the office is busy. Thats never been a problem for me -- they honor my appointments and serve me quickly. Personally, I think the fact that they are busy is a sign that they are doing something right -- do you really want a doctor that does not have any other patients? On June 13, 2023, I arrived at Friedman Optometry, located in Culver City at approximately 9:03 am. As soon as I walked through the front door, I was greeted by their friendly office manager (Jacqueline). Jacqueline is most courteous and pleasant person. Afterwards, I was asked to update my medical record. It took a minute for me to fill-out two short forms. Directly after I turned-in my updated forms, my name was called. I was directed to another room containing vision screening equipment operated by Tracy. Tracy explained function of each device and what my eyes will experience during each test in-advance. The tests took a few minutes to complete. I was then called in by Dr. Levin for visual acuity test. Dr. Levin, has over twenty years of experience in his field. Dr. Levin, can answer any question relating to visual acuity test. I was then asked to meet Ofelia, to select a frame. Ofelia, was courteous and informative. Although my visit moved along swiftly, I was never rushed through the entire process. The office staff provided me with top-notch customer service experience. I am satisfied with their proficient service, Dr. Levin, Jacqueline, Tracy and Ofelia are simply fantastic. The service provided to me is deserving of high marks!" Just finished my appointment here and I had such a great experience! From the moment I walked in I was nicely greeted by Emily who started my check-in process- very fast and easy. My pre-doctor exam was also quick! They offer a really cool eye laser scan which I have never done before, but the exam looks for any serious eye conditions- after not being to an eye doctor in 3 years I am happy to have found a place that offers this. Once I was with the doctor, she made me feel very comfortable and could tell she actually cares about her patients finding the perfect prescription, unlike others I've had in the past that only want to run tests one time through. She was very thorough and friendly. After we found my right prescott on, Alma helped me find the cutest pair of glasses. She picked about 8 pairs that were so cute and also the best in my budget. Alma was very honest with what suited my gave the best, and we picked a gorgeous Michael Kors pair. I have very sensitive eyes, and was toying with the idea of getting blue light protection, and she gave me a really great deal on it. I am so appreciative of Alma's help, and for all of the staff making this such a great experience! Thinking that I could save money, I purchased a pair of Tom Ford frames online. Well, that wasn't such a brilliant idea. The frames looked great online, but they didn't look great on me. Therefore, I sent them back to the online company. Rebecca, one of the Opticians, recommended not to purchase frames online. She indicated a couple of reasons for that: (1) the frames might look beautiful online, but they might not look beautiful on the person; and (2) the frames might be knock-offs, and therefore, not the actual brand printed on the frames. Based on Rebecca's superb knowledge and insight, I will never again purchase a pair of frames online. With a vast selection of top brands at Maurice Friedman, I would rather pay extra and purchase a pair of frames that look good on me. Not only that, but with the tremendous experience that Rebecca brings to the table, she did an excellent job helping me pick out a pair of frames that matched my facial features and hair color. Rebecca is not only remarkable in what she does, but she is very accommodating and takes time to insure that you are making the best investment into your appearance. I did not have an appointment but they advertise walk-ins welcome so I went in without an appointment. I have vision insurance and I thought I was covered. The staff here is so patient and nice. They called my insurance company for me, They must have been on hold for at least 15 minutes. It turns out the insurance company had difficulty determining if I had eye exam and glasses coverage. They told Dr Friedman's office they would need to call them back on Monday. However the insurance company did say if I was covered for an exam I would have a $10 co-pay. The woman at the desk felt sorry that I had waited so long while she checked my benefits that she said they would do the eye exam anyway and just collect the $10 co-pay. I thought that was pretty fantastic. The exam was very good. The doctor explained all the tests she had performed and was very professional. The opticians were great too. Even though I was not buying glasses today because I was not sure of my coverage they still helped me find glasses and were very patient as I tried on different glasses over and over again. I will definitely be back to buy the glasses with or without my insurance. Very classy office. I definitley recommend. read more

I loved the doctor but it was the front desk staff that made this a terrible experience for me. The doctor was running about 45 minutes late for my appointment and when I started asking questions to the girls at the front desk I got a lot of attitude and short answers. I got the feeling that they could care less about me however I desperately needed contacts so I stayed. The doctor was wonderful, I tried out a sample contacts and called to say I liked them and prepaid my contacts. I was told they would arrive 2-3 business days. I have been waiting now for 5 weeks! And no one had called or reached out to me to let me know what was going on, it seemed like they took my money and forgot about me. When I called today they seemed like they had no record of my contacts and had not even ordered them!!!! Unbelievable !!! On top of that the receptionist said let me call you back once I figure out what is going on.. but feel free to call me back if you don't hear from me. It does not even seem like this is a big deal to them at all. I won't be going back after I get these contacts and I'll be very vocal about them to my family and friends because the customer service was that terrible. read more

Oh my Goodness! I have not been to this office since before the pandemic, as I wanted to wait for non urgent matters until I was vaccinated for others and for me. I went last Monday and was assisted by the LOVELY and humble Lupe Vera! She worked with me with my budget post pandemic for a package that best suited my needs. I have medical coverage, but that doesn't include dental or vision. I needed a new eye exam, contacts, and glasses. Do not fall asleep with your glasses on, or you'll end up like me Netflixing and breaking the bridge of your glasses. Hot glue right there is not cute. Thank you so much Lupe for making picking out a pair of frames that suited my face and budget breezy. Your patience and positive energy radiated behind your mask, you were even in my gratitude practice for the day. I can see!! What a joy it is to be able to see! Thank you! The staff there are very polite, helpful with insurance questions, theyre pretty accommodating when it comes to scheduling an appointment and the Doctor is a happy, funny kinda sarcastic guy so i enjoy the vistits. I have a young son whos required glasses since he was 4 so weve gone to quite a few optometrists and this office has to be my favorite so far. Way to go Dr friedman and crew especially the woman, im sorry i always forget her name, wjo sers you up with the frames and gets you checked in and out, shes one of those people who give off a welcoming, happy vibe and gets every thing done quick, right and youre all set The only down fall of the office i have to say os unfortunately they have a very limited selection for frames for boys. They looked to have a small childrens assortment as it is, which i get, not a ton of kids wear glasses and dont need a huge selection, but there was more selections on girl styles and colors so we struggled a little finding a set that looked sturdy, durable to some extent and that he liked, the lady did help us find a nice dark blue pair of trendy frames though, made me a d my son veey happy read more

I am leaving for a big trip so I wanted to have my eyes checked. I went in to Dr. Friedman's office for an eye exam check up on the recommendation of a friend and I was extremely satisfied. Their front desk people are extremely friendly and the optical assistants were very knowledeable and efficient. Dr. Levin examined my eyes and showed me a photograph of my retina on the computer. Everything is computerized. That's great because my last doctor lost my charts. They have a huge selection of designer glasses from funky to more conservative. I was pretty amazed by the selection of eye wear. I chose two pair and got them the same day. The office is definitely busy but they are patient and explain all the latest in lenses. I got my glasses with extra thin lenses and Anti glare which I love. I also would like to commend their manager for the way she conducts herself with the patients. The office staff seems to like what they do. They all smile a lot. I will definitely be back for my next eye exam and glasses and refer my family and friends. Good old fashion service!! read more

Dr Friedman's office has a professional very friendly staff. I went there today just to look at glasses. I did not need my eyes examined because I had that done at my other doctor. The lady at the desk asked got me to another woman who immediatley started showing me glasses. The office was very busy at the time but they seemed to be very efficient. I was astounded by the selection of glasses. I have never seen so many stylish eyeglasses and sunglasses ever in an optometrists office. I am picky and the lady showed me dozens of glasses. I could have bought most of them. She called my other doctor to get my prescription. It turns out they would not release it because it was expired. Dr Friedman's office took me in and I had an eye exam without an appointment. They have two doctors so it was not too long of a wait. I also picked out a pair of Tag Heurer cool sunglasses and got them both in one hour. I would recommend Dr Friedman's office highly. Oh, they also had a cool machine that took a picture of my eye which the doctor showed me during the exam. Great office!! read more

I have SO many problems with this place! First off, the Doctor was just as nice as the staff, who were so friendly and outgoing, helpful, and sincere. The place itself wasn't too small or too big, really comfy atmosphere. Everything was affordable and fair priced for the quality I got, PLUS, the follow up appointments were so thorough and quick at the same time. I kept forgetting to come back in one week, and they gave me an extra trial pair to try out again and come back in another week for a follow up, SO understanding and helpful. It was awful. =P I got one of the last discounts from their site before they realized how amazing their deals were and got two pairs of glasses, and an eye-contact/glasses exam. Take your time researching your optometrists and deals, plus, I heard they price match 1800CONTACTS, which sounds too good to be true! After you research though, you probably will want to come back here...! =) Have a great one wherever you go! No peer pressure! This is an awesome place when looking to get hip new glasses. I happened upon this little gem of an office by accident when I was getting a coffee across the street. I had been looking for a new pair of glasses but nothing has caught my eye so I figured I would walk in and see what they had. I was very surprised by their selection. They had brand names such as Versace, Bvlgari, Gucci, Fred and Tom Ford and so many others. They seemed to have glasses in all price ranges, something for everyone. They also have a large selection of sunglasses including Dolce and Gabbana, Juicy Couture, Prada, and Christian Dior. The office is very comfortable and they seem to be quite busy. I ended up having an eye examination although I did not have an appointment. The optometrist was very helpful and so is the rest of the staff. I also got contact lenses which they had in stock which was very convenient. To top it all off they took my insurance VSP. I will definitely go back to Dr. Friedman's office. read more

I have been buying glasses at Friedman Optometry for the last 3 to 4 years. There are a number of reasons as to why they are my optometry provider. First, they provide personalized service, which I really appreciate. Second, and from my perspective, the doctors are so very helpful in terms of updating my prescription and finding the best lenses for my glasses. I have particularly appreciated the care provided by Dr. Haley. Third, it seems to me that their pricing is very fair. Fourth, my prescriptions are filled in a timely manner, and they let me know when the prescriptions are available. Fifth, I like their selection of glasses. Recently, I purchased pairs of Prada glasses and another brand called IC Berlin, and they were fitted nicely by Tim, who I believe is the person who runs their lab. To me, Friedman Optometry is a great place for your vision needs. But, don't take my word for it, check them out yourself and see what you think. read more
