Quite the impressive array of frames packed into a small area. The CS was exceptional. Almost too efficient... she goes in 5 gear! What was above and beyond tho was when she ordered a narrower pair of the same style I had selected. Turns out her hunch was 100% spot on. The narrower pair def looked best. I had the most incredible experience at Hourglass Optical. Veronica, Kathy, and the gentleman who makes the glasses were all absolutely amazing--truly some of the sweetest, most patient and also a lotsa fun people I've ever met. I needed two pairs of prescription glasses: one regular pair and one with an FL-41 tint. They even gave me a temporary pair to use while mine were being made, which was such a thoughtful touch. Everything was unbelievably fast, especially considering it was around Thanksgiving. I only had to wait a few days for the tinted pair, and I was genuinely impressed by their turnaround time. They spent so much time with me figuring out the perfect tint darkness. I kept wanting it darker, and they were endlessly patient, making sure I wouldn't end up with something too dark that I might regret later. They even showed me multiple lenses with different tint levels so I could really make the right decision. I live in Hawaii and found them through ChatGPT while planning a trip to LA. After calling and comparing several places, I still chose Hourglass Optical--and I'm so glad I did. Their prices are incredibly reasonable, honestly maybe too reasonable given the level of expertise and care they provide. Other places were either more expensive or cheaper but far less competent. This one was the clear winner. Parking is easy--they have a small lot in the back. They also love dogs, which I felt was important to mention because it instantly made me feel welcome. The business has been around for about 50 years and was the first (and only!) store that made glasses within an hour. The most condescending exchange I've ever received from an optical personnel. When I walked in, this older lady behind the counter directed me to read a posted sheet, which she said it's their golden rule, or to say please first to her before I should even state the reason for my optical visit! Feeling incredulous, I told her even if I did not utter what they needed to hear first, I would have ended my service request with appreciation and payment.
