She really has a great "eye" for what works and what doesn't. She genuinely wants you to look your best and find the right fit. Tim has been a staple and remains a standout technique specialist. Went in same day for an eye exam and the front desk staff was super friendly with explaining what services my insurance covered. They were not pushy at all with the extra exam that they recommend (which I truly appreciated) since that would have been an out of pocket cost. In general the staff was great and the Dr. was very nice. The woman that helped me out when choosing new frames was extremely helpful and patient as I was very indecisive. Overall great experience. BEWARE!! I normally don't like to leave these type of reviews but my experience with this business was so egregious I had to inform my fellow Yelpers. I was recently searching for a new optometry for my family, and I came across Friedman as an option. Before committing to a new optometrist, it was important for me to do my due diligence--reading reviews online, checking the optometrist's alma mater, and visiting the optometry before making an appointment. When I visited the optometry, I was courteously greeted by the personable and kind Dr. Haley. She held a good rapport and my family and I felt comfortable scheduling an exam with her. However, she mentioned that she would be out of the office the next couple of days, so the office took my information down, copied my family and my ID and insurance cards, and informed me that they would contact me once her schedule would allow for my patient exam. However, weeks passed and I didn't receive one follow up call from this business. Today, I called to follow up when I could have my appointment scheduled, and the receptionist cryptically replied that the manager schedules the appointments and thus would give me a callback. When the office manager Jacqueline called me, she very passively aggressively informed me that my family and I would not be able to schedule an appointment with Dr. Haley. When I asked her why, Jacqueline curtly replied: "Dr. Haley felt uncomfortable with your questions." I was taken aback and completely blindsided. The only questions I had asked were to ensure the exam procedure was up to the standards of other optometrists (I.e. checking that they had a retinal scan machine) and to ensure that my eyeglass prescription could be taken to a third party like Warby Parker if I didn't find that their frame selections suited my style. I then asked if I could schedule an appointment with any of the other optometrists and she curly replied: "The optometry has made a decision that we will not see you or your family as patients." She didn't give any other reasoning, leading me to conclude that this business DISCRIMINATES. If this business did not want to see us as patients, they should have told that to our faces--not string us along wasting our time and energy chasing an appointment. Note to management: DO NOT take copies of prospective patients' ID and insurance cards if you have no intention of accepting them as patients. This is a breach of our personal information and privacy. Do yourself a favor and AVOID this optometry at all costs. read more

When you're new to an experience, a company should guide you through the process. I hadn't had an eye exam in over 25 years and wasn't sure what to expect. I needed glasses because I was having trouble seeing the computer, reading small print, and experiencing some fuzziness at night. This was also my husband's first eye exam, and he doesn't have any vision problems, so I assumed he wouldn't need glasses. Since our benefit allows us to get two pairs of glasses each, I planned to get one prescription pair and one pair of sunglasses for myself, and two pairs of sunglasses for him.. While the wait was long, I inquired about which sunglasses were covered by our vision plan insurance. I wanted to pass the time and try on frames until our exam. I was told that insurance doesn't pay for non-prescription sunglasses. I mentioned that mine does and asked to see the options, but was told to wait. After the exam, which was gentle and not as bad as I had feared, the doctor gave me two choices: get readers from CVS or get a prescription. I chose the prescription with a really nice frame and added all the bells and whistles. We ended up being there much longer than anticipated. Overall I am happy with the products and end results. I just think the waiting could be cut down with better scheduling, and giving the customers the chore of finding their frames 1st. We waited at least 30 minutes to be seen and then had to spend another 20 minutes for finding frames. The waiting room is cramped, and isn't a place you want to just hang out and chill. I just really like having an appointment run smoothly and not a lot of extra wait time. Suggestions for staff: Instead of waiting until the patient is there to verify their insurance benefits, call the day before or day of before the patient arrives. This would prevent confusion and reduce extra wait time. read more

There are plenty of glasses to choose from, you have to pay first before even seeing the doctor which is odd, they make you fill out new patient paperwork every time, the waiting area is small and uncomfortable but the Doctor and staff are nice. However upon my last visit, they hired a new employee and she definitely needs training on customer service. She is rude, rushs you through when she takes you back to exam your eyes - gives you major attitude if you ask her a question. Sorry I can't see what you're pointing at, it's dark and I don't have my glasses or contacts on! I had to return to get my glasses fixed and unfortunately, she was at the front desk and again she was cold, unwelcoming and full of attitude. 1 star deduction due this employee's rude attitude.
