I've always loved Paratha Wala, but it had been awhile since I've been and they've had a glow up since my last visit. The vibe feels a bit more upscale and the menu has expanded, but the food and service are still wonderful. They now have a bunch of cocktails and mocktails. I opted for the classic lemonade with ginger and mint. It was lovely, refreshing and balanced. We started off with the Papdi Chaat which was an excellent version. It hits all the notes, crispy, creamy, tangy, spicy...so good. The Karahi Keema Paratha is Paratha bread stuffed with ground lamb and spices and it was excellent. So savory and flavorful. Butter Chicken is a wonderful version. Creamy with a hint of spice and tender, juicy chicken. Dal Tadka are yellow lentils with spices and packed with flavor. Just delicious. Paratha Wala was the perfect spot for some delicious comforting food on a cold night.

A good Indian restaurant. Ordered the butter chicken, chicken biryani, and garlic paratha. You can order the chicken either with dark meat or white meay. The white meat was very dry but the dark meat was good. The butter chicken was well seasoned and balanced. The garlic paratha was great. The service was very good.

This was a quick stop while before we got checked in into our hotel. It's a cute little place, with a mixed decor, there are bunch of license plates and flowers and string lights setting up a cosy ambience. We quickly got seated and order a Half Tandoori chicken, chicken tikka masala and garlic parathas. The tandoori chicken was flavourful, the rice that accompanied it was yummy to say the least, everything on that plate felt like it belonged there including the salad. The chicken tikka masala was absolutely delicious and the garlic parathas served as the perfect accompaniment to carry the gravy and chicken. Really good place yummy food, if I'm in town definitely coming back to check out the other dishes.

I had to bump my four star review to five stars because Paratha Wala really is that good. I went a couple of years ago so it was nice visiting and seeing that the food is still affordable/no skimping on portion sizes. My favorite appetizer is the kale fritters & they were tasty albeit they could be a bit less salty. I also had the keema naan which was tasty & had more than enough keema inside. What stood out to me was actually their drinks which were strong & actually quite unique. Lastly, the staff is great & the decor inside is so cute. I'll be coming back for sure :).

My family and I stumbled upon this place when we were looking for food in the area. We walked in hoping there would be a table for us since we forgot to make a reservation. The staff kindly took us in and sat us down. I forgot her name, but she was super nice and patient. We ordered samosa chaat, chicken tikka bowl, lamb roll, paratha beef burgers, butter chicken pasta, mango lassi, and chai. All the food was great, and the homemade sauces were a good touch to the food. Everything was well seasoned and flavorful. At the end of our dinner, the staff gave us free dessert on the house, which was yummy. We also met the owner of the restaurant, and he was friendly and kind. The overall restaurant service, staff, and interior decoration were wonderful! I would definitely recommend coming here with family or friends if you're in the neighborhood!

I want to continue to express my love for this restaurant after today's meal. We tried some new dishes today and loved them as well! We had the butter chicken roll, coconut shrimp curry, and beef curry. All very flavorful and spiced well. They presented three bottles of homemade hot sauce with the roll, which were phenomenal! The lightest spicy mayo I added to every bite, and the hotter mayo was more complex in flavor but spicier. The green serrano sauce was actually not too spicy but a bit herby. The service was very professional and they proactively met our needs throughout the meal. We noticed the more upscale updated decor and also the arcade game in the corner, which I'm looking forward to playing again next time. It has a long list of various classic arcade games to choose from, and we chose a King of Fighter game. Great addition to the space for engagement!

The grilled chicken item was an off menu special and took a while but was worth the wait; green basmati was fragrant and had a tinge of herb. The lamb kadai was tender and not that overtly spicy. The garlic paratha was crisp, not too oily. Dahi bada was sweet and a little tangy from the tamarind, with a surprising kick.

Came here with a few friends for iftar dinner. It was quite the cultural experience and a great place to come break your fast. Interior was beautifully decorated as you can see in the photos. It was little dimly lit when we first walked in, however, once the sun set, they're lighting really made the ambience something to vie for. The food came out quickly once the sun set. Everything was absolutely amazing. Samosa chaat was seasoned well and you can taste all the spices and flavors from the cucumber mint chutney to their tamarind spice. The chili wings were tender, juicy and seasoned well. Weren't over fried as other places tend to do. The apps themselves almost filled me up because I get going back for more. I got the lamb bowl as an entree. It had a nice kick to it with their curry and I have a relatively high spice tolerance so reader beware if you want to try. Lamb was cooked perfect. I couldn't think of anything I didn't like. Would come here again! Give this place a try!

The food was fresh and absolutely delicious. Me and my husband both had the chicken tikka bowl. I also had the mango lassi and it was amazing. It wasn't overly sweet which is great because it was the perfect balance. We both loved it and will def come here again. They def have us hooked. The decor is cute and modern. The restaurant is not too big but it's great for small groups. It's located on Metropolitan avenue in Forest hills, there is tons of street parking usually so parking shouldn't be an issue.

Start off by saying this place lives up to the hype! Cute, dark, table lamp lit seating adorns this small restaurant. There aren't that many tables overall. Maybe 12 total. Came here after a flight into the city. Just came in from JFK with a massive checked bag. They were kind enough to let the bag in and we placed it right by the table. Waitress greeted us relatively fast and asked if there was a water preference between still and sparkling. Tap was perfectly fine with me. Now what happens next is the only reason that I'm not giving it 5 stars. Took the restaurant 10 minutes to come back and take our order. Apparently their POS system went down so the servers were taking orders by hand. After flagging down multiple servers not a single one came to take our orders. I was starting to get hungry so it wasn't a good look... The bartender came out and apologized and grabbed our order afterwards. Food came out relatively quickly. The paapdi chat was delicious! Crunchy small bits of paapdi with plenty of channa, tamarind, mint, and potatoes in a heaping serving for two. I loved it but my partner said she was disappointed the paapdi's weren't the large pieces of fried chip she was used to instead. Weird but ok. Next the lamb bowl came out. It was great as well. Soft pieces of curried lamb over rice, salad, potatoes, and channa. It was a large portion and I struggled to finish it without help. There was mint chutney drizzled over the bowl which felt cheap. It should have been left on the side as needed. Also too many potatoes and not enough rice. I'm indian man, give me my rice. The star of the show was the Stuffed Keema Paratha. It was crunchy, ghee filled, meat heavy, and didn't need any sauces to go along with it except raita. It was filling enough to be a meal of it's own! Definitely the star of the night and both of our favorite dishes. We wanted to try drinks, chai, and dessert but the travel took it out of us. We will be back!

Super cute lunch stop over the weekend. The menu has a lot of options, but I un creatively chose the name sake. Our server, Hyat was attentive we appreciated her care. There was so rush after we finished our meal we had some tea and chatted. I enjoyed the ambiance. All tables were full when we were there so it was pretty energetic. I did also notice they have a little games section which was thoughtful. My only comment would be to ask how sauced you want your food. Some dishes were overwhelmed with sauce or chutneys. The food was good and spoke for itself beyond the garnishes. Perhaps sauce on the side would have been the way to go in the future. Indian eats with a modern flair.

I was looking for an Indian place in the area for dinner. I found this place. I'm so glad I came here. I ordered the chai tea, samosas, garlic paratha, saag paneer and butter chicken. We also had the gulab jamun. Everything was incredibly delicious and flavorful. Our server, Amani, was very attentive and friendly as well. I'll definitely come back here again. I've been to many Indian restaurants; this was by far my favorite one, with fresh and yummy food. I can't wait to stop back here.

I'm from Silicon Valley and we're swimming in Indian restaurants from every region. We initially came in for a quick bite before dinner plans in the area. I got a chicken lollipop and samosa and was surprised by how much flavor it had. My expectations were low since they said they didn't have any chutney to come with the samosa and offered ketchup instead. However it definitely didn't need it and had so much flavor and moisture on its own. As we were munching on our two small items, we were consumed by the smell of the other dishes they had. We left to dinner at the other restaurant and were completely stuffed, but I HAD to swing back to this restaurant to get some of their curries togo. I got one of the fish curries which had some pickled vegetables and one of the goat curries. I've never had this much depth in a fish or goat curry before and it beat out any I've had before. I was literally sucking as much of the gravy as I could from the bones when I got back because I knew I wouldn't be able to have this level of depth and flavor in a curry when I get back to California. The service was so friendly. They were smiling and chatting with us while we ordered and were attentive in the beginning even though we got two small items for like 5 bucks. I'm definitely making my way back to Astoria to have this again.

The difference in the doi is that it is topped with a yogurt to balance the spice for a creamier texture. I liked this a lot, especially with the tamarind sauce too (though this got a bit messy). This is nothing like I've ever tasted with so many different textures going on. It hits you with spicy, sweet, savory, crunchy, creamy, chewy and everything all at once. It comes with 8 pieces, which is perfect to share with 2-3 people. Definitely something to check out!

Just two stops on the F-Train from 62nd/Lexington to 21st Queensbridge station is a HIDDEN GEM of East-Asian cuisine! A new Bangladeshi restaurant, DHAKAYA, opened in July in Queens near the corner of 21st and 40th Avenue. It's a charming, family-owned place where the owners genuinely care about the quality of their ingredients. Luckily, I work nearby, so I get to eat here on a regular basis. The food is fresh, aromatic, and downright tantalizing. They offer daily specials as well as an a-la-carte menu. I highly recommend trying the daily specials that are made fresh and hot each day and presented in their inviting display case. Their culinary talent truly shines in the bold, spicy blends they create. Here are a few examples of what I've tried there: Singara: These are similar to the better-known Indian Samosas, but here they are stuffed with a delectable mix of potatoes, cauliflower, vegetables, and exotic Bangladeshi spices. They are served piping hot, with a golden-crispy crust, and the savory ingredients burst with mouthwatering flavor. Garlic Naan: A beloved favorite with a unique twist, they bake these thin and crispy while slathering them in generous amounts of rich garlic butter. Goat Rezala: I have never had such tender, succulent goat in all my wanderings. This dish is a sublime mix of melt-in-your-mouth meat bathed in a flavorful REZALA (similar to curry) made with creamy yogurt, cashew, and poppy seed paste. This results in a rich, deeply satisfying taste with subtle notes of cardamom and nutmeg. Eggplant Puree: This was an unexpected delight served as a side dish. What a burst of flavor! The smoky taste of the pureed eggplant, infused with a medley of spices and garlic, created a creamy, smoky blend of absolute heaven. Stingray: It's incredibly rare to find this dish, and if you like seafood, you'll be overjoyed. This fish has a unique texture somewhere between tilapia and squid. Unlike regular fish, stingrays have no bones; their skeleton is made from cartilage, so most of the "bones" in the dish are crunchy and edible. The tender meat is bathed in a spicy, savory curry and served with aromatic basmati rice. Pulao: Obviously prepared with great care, this fragrant basmati rice is infused with aromatic whole spices, herbs, and a rich stock. They serve it with roast chicken or Goat Rezala. The food here is absolutely incredible! The owners are down-to-earth people who want to introduce the broad and flavorful tastes of Bangladesh. They have truly mastered the art of using multiple spices to magical effect. They create higher amplitudes of sweet, savory, spicy, aromatic masterpieces that you would expect in fine-dining establishments, but instead, they welcome all people to their humble restaurant in this little-explored corner of Queens -- a true hidden gem that all foodies dream of discovering as they wander. Absolutely delicious!

Run by a mom & daughter duo, Amma & Nur-E are truly so down-to-earth, full of positivity, and their energy is luminous. Amma is genuinely passionate about her craft and unbelievably humble! We arrived 10 minutes before 8pm and were greeted by Nur-E who literally shook our hands and welcomed us with open arms. The restaurant seats ~18 people so you can imagine how intimate, curated, and deeply rooted in tradition this dinner felt. Amma is from Dhaka, Bangladesh and with every course that came out, Nur-E described it to us in her expert storytelling ways! Everything we had was incredible. The Mango Lassi is blended by hand for that perfect consistency and refreshing, lightly sweet, homemade taste! After 5 whole courses came out, Nour-E came out and told us we had 7 more to go! So definitely come hungry and know you will leave beyond satisfied. My favorites were the Lau Chingri (Shrimp & Bottle Gourd Squash), the Rohu Fish Fried, the Murgir (Chicken) Roast & Palao, Beef Curry (Gorur Gostho) and Khashir (Goat) Biryani. Basically everything we had!! Each dish was balanced in depth, richness, and heat. The meats & fish were so tender, the rices were unbelievably fragrant, and the sauces were aromatic and layered rather than just spicy. The Rohu Fish Fried is imported from Bangladesh and lightly coated in spices and pan-fried until golden brown. This was my first time having this fish and it won't be my last! The Murgir (Chicken) Roast & Palao will live rent free in my head for a long time. It's richly caramelized, light yet aromatic, and deliciously comforting. I can see why this is usually a celebratory dish and is the only dish that Amma will serve at every Dawat Dinner! This dish is so popular that you can now find the recipe on Food & Wine. Speaking of accomplishments, the Lau Chingri (Shrimp & Bottle Gourd Squash) was named one of The New York Times' Best Dishes of 2025. We were also so lucky that Amma made her Mishti Doi for dessert! It's a sweet yogurt that has a custard-like creaminess and was the perfect way to end the meal after all those incredible flavors. We were so grateful to get a special one in a traditional clay pot. Also, there's tons of food but the staff will package any leftovers for you to take with you! They've literally thought of everything to make this an exceptional experience. Nur-E closed our dinner saying "food is life's greatest connector" and I couldn't agree more! Amma is truly an inspiration for opening Korai Kitchen at 61 years old, becoming a James Beard Nominee at 67 and getting 3 Stars from New York Times, and now signing her first cook book deal at 69. This is definitely in my top 10 meals of 2026 and is one of the most memorable meals I've ever had. I can't recommend Korai Kitchen enough.

Sorry for the lack of pics. I just went in as soon as the dishes started arriving, eager to savor the meal rather than to record it. My advice: Just go! Its a culinary adventure!

The cashier, Sahan, was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional from the start. What stood out the most was how unfairly customers were being treated. I had been waiting to be helped, but instead of serving people in the order they arrived, he skipped over me and chose to help female customers who came after me. It was very obvious and felt extremely disrespectful. When I tried to address my concerns, the situation only got worse. Sahan claimed he was the supervisor, but when I asked to speak with management, he refused and would not provide any way for me to contact someone above him. Rather than trying to help resolve the issue, he acted like he didn't care at all and made the whole interaction unnecessarily frustrating. On top of the poor attitude, he seemed unwilling to answer simple questions properly and came across as incompetent when handling basic customer service. There was no apology, no acknowledgment of the issue, and no effort to treat customers fairly or professionally. I came here expecting good food and decent service, but the way I was treated left a terrible impression. Customers deserve respect, fairness, and professionalism regardless of who they are. Management seriously needs to pay attention to how staff members like Sahan are representing this business, because experiences like this are exactly why people choose not to come back.

Dominic was absolutely amazing 1000/10, I believe he knew it was my first time he was very patient with my girlfriend and myself. With an amazing smile and was just happy to help. He helped me pronounce the food items I couldn't get correct. Overall he gave me choices and options that were great that I really enjoyed. I don't remember the bartender names but he was great as well. His drinks were perfectly blended I felt like I was on vacation on a beach having them. But when I come back I definitely want to choose them! Ambiance was LUXURIOUS. Very clean, utensils were very clean as if it the a grand opening. I love the aesthetics and the color coordination and to the plates and silverware. Overall I recommend anyone especially if it's your first time. The people hear are amazing food is even better. 100/10 HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
