Today, was my first time trying this nail salon. I have been searching for a place as professional and friendly as this one. I live in Koreatown and was recommended to try this place. Hmm. I don't even really know where to start. I wanted to go to the nail place next door, so I came and waited but when they didn't open at 9:30 I decided to try out Friendly Nails and Spa. I walked in at around 9:45AM asking if they did dip powder nails because I've been growing my nails out for a while with dip. They sat me down at around 9:50 where a lady filed my nails down and soaked them off, she told me to wait afterwards. I kid you not when I say I waited until 10:30AM for someone to attend to me. My nails were soaking in acetone for almost an hour which made my nail beds incredibly sensitive (I have naturally sensitive nail beds) and it was to the point that when she was curing the top coat my nail beds kept butnung. Another lady came and sat me down saying that she's the one that's going to work on my nails because the other one that just came doesn't do designs. She asked to look at the design that I wanted so I showed her a photo (last picture). She said okay and got started to work. Once she finished, she asked to look at the design again and told me she can't really do designs because she's not good at it so I said forget it and just asked for neutral gel color on my dip powder nails. Why say you can do a design and back out? Anyway, I haven't even had my dip powder nails for a week but they already broke because they're so thin they're basically gel. I chipped my pinky nail because it "scratched" an elevator button while I was pushing it. I wasted so long growing out my nails! Never coming back again. read more
