Came here for good reviews. I have brought 2 other cars here and all have been timely under 15 minutes. Only thing when I called and asked about my civic it was 50 over the phone. When I showed up dude says $60. So I reminded him someone quoted $50 over the phone so he agreed. Call before and ask about pricing cuz it might change when u get here. read more

Fantastically quick and friendly smog test. I decided to go there on my way to work just to see 1. if they were open. 2 if there was a line. Sure enough, it was open, and I was the first customer. DO NOT GO HERE! Let me tell you my ordeal... 1. They falsify the pricing they advertise and will charge you differently. 2. They make you wait like hell while they scramble around doing various things. I was waiting for over an hour and the 2 technicians are chit-chatting and laughing in the back. 3. One of their customers came back yelling and screaming at the boss and showing their paperwork. They were yelling "crook/thief"... 4. They offer their "free retest" as a gimmick to intentionally fail you to make you come back for repairs on the next test. 5. Due from waiting for my smog, I witnessed another customer fail their test in a rather short period of time. Two technicians came in talking about something they saw before hooking anything up. It's like they knew this customer was going to fail but took the customers money first as a safety net before telling them. Total BS... 6. One technician constantly goes on a smoking break for 15 minutes at a time. I'm thinking to myself that's about the mere amount of time for my smog test to be completed....instead here I am waiting in the cold. Bottom line....bad management. Go to Sunnyvale Discount Smog. Francis is a one man show. You'll be surprised how a real smog station runs compared to this corrupt business. read more

Very quick service. A total of 15 mins from the time I drove up to the time I left. I called ahead and asked for a price, they quoted $45, which is $25 less than posted on their walls. I left paying exactly $45, tax and everything was included in that price. Great deal, great service, and fast. Can't get any better. read more

Arrived at 9 am on a Friday. I had originally tried to go to J Speed Auto, but there was no wait at Friendly. He drove my car in right away and the test took about 8 minutes. Another five minutes to settle up and $45 later I was out. Don't know if it was the cheapest, but Friendly certainly was fast. Will be coming back in about two years. read more

The service is friendly and the price is great here. I used to go to Bobby Smog. Nice guy, but he over charged...maybe that's why they are out of business. Keep in mind that prices depends in your vehicle year and the standard smog test or "Star" smog service, which cost more. Mine is a standard and it cost $45 out the door. It's a 4 star because the parking lot is small and cumbersome to get around. Other than that, it's a great smog station with great price. read more

They were fast, friendly and cheap. i paid $50 out the door. no tax no nothin. If I could give this place a negative 10, I would. I had my car smogged there last month and it past the "smell test' but the ECU kept throwing error codes. The guy said "drive it around for while and bring back in a week so computer would reset itself," and it did. So I come back thinking "ok, all he has to do is submit to the DMV that my car passed after checking that my ECU was ok."... WRONG!!! He told me "ok you have to run test again." So needless to say I wasn't very happy. Giving you a brief demographic on my car, it sits about 3-4 inches off the ground and has been heavily modified externally. The only reason I was able to have it smogged the first time was because I had removed the front bumper. This time I was told that I wouldn't need to re-test anything aside from the computer, so I put it back on. It wasn't going to make it into their garage. Even though I told him it is not going to work, he still proceeded to let himself into my car with my fiancé still in the car, and take it for a brief joy ride around there very small parking lot before attempting to fly into his garage. I had to stand in front of his garage to get him to stop and show him very calmly that it WAS NOT going to fit. So using what little IQ he had he thought "OK, I try in reverse." Without even asking me if it was ok he swung my car into reverse and tried cramming it over the lip of his garage, nearly tearing off my custom Carbon Fiber rear diffuser. Needless to say, if I didn't have any self control, he would have been in the hospital, and I would be in jail right now. This company is a joke. No accountability and no respect for other people's property. If you value your car in any way, DO NOT go to this shop. They will mess up your car and show no remorse or accountability. read more

I don't recommend this place . He charged me $60 although he said $50 when I came. The price higher then others. He keeps checking and looking at my car for half hour I don't know why? he was searching , maybe looking for any thing to make me repeat the test. Thanks god I passed. Needed a STAR test on a 1995 (so with EVAP). Quoted $50 on the phone, was $50 when I got there at 11am on a Tuesday. No waiting and was out of there in 20 minutes. A line did form shortly after I got there though. read more

DO NOT take your car here. They took my money and ask me to replace a part that had nothing to do with the emission system. I was told once I replace the part, I would pass smog. I got the part and went back. Now I am told that I needed to drive more miles before it would pass. WHAT? I did just that, came back the next day to find the smog machine was "broken". Finally went to another place and my car passed with no issues. And I spent an additional $14 on a part I didn't need. Will never go here again. EVER. read more
