I just wasted $40 on several containers of Cherry Chocolate Chunk that changed from real ice cream when I bought it a few months ago to awful tasting frozen dairy desert (no dairy fat) today. Stopped in to celebrate a birthday lunch at this location and it's still an easy spot to enjoy some grub with ice cream for the kiddos. (Not always the best parking lot to get out of though.) The inside hasn't changed much over the years, our server was nice and good with the kids. He had one heck of a memory and didn't forget one thing. The bathrooms were clean and the kitchen area looked clean. The regular menu has apps - wings, mac & cheese, mozz sticks, quesadillas, soups, waffle fries and fried pickles. Sandwiches/burgers/wraps/super melts and salads. They have a handful of entrees too. The kids menu has chicken tenders, sliders, hot dogs, grilled cheese and mac and cheese. Sides were fruits of veggies. The Crispy Buffalo Chicken Wrap I had was good. It wasn't blow your mind good, just a simple solid wrap. The fries were meh. The kids enjoyed their sliders and sides before getting to the main event.... Ice Cream! Between the sundae's, regular ice cream, Friend-Z (Think DQ Blizzard), Fribble (milkshake) & floats they got you covered. The kids kept it simple and built their own sundae's. I skipped Ice Cream, but the kids devoured theirs. For decades they still have their take out freezer filled with ice cream cakes, pints and half gallons in the same spot. I stopped by the Friendly's in Bensalem on Friday night and ordered a vanilla Fribble -- and I was not disappointed. Every sip was rich, smooth, and absolutely delicious. You can really tell they use real cream, and they blended the milkshake perfectly. It had just the right consistency -- not too thick, not too thin. It's rare to find places like this anymore; Friendly's feels like a dying breed, and I wish there were more locations around. Very affordable, great quality, and a little nostalgic too. Had sushi down the street for dinner with two friends. Felt like having ice cream afterwards so we ran in Friendly's. I didn't even know this restaurant was there! They have a to go window where you can order, in the lobby. It was later on a Friday evening so when we walked in there was only one other person waiting. We each ordered. Waited about ten minutes for our ice cream orders. When we left there were a lot of people ordering and/or picking up. When I got in the car I realized my order was completely wrong. My friend took it in for me to be fixed. If it didn't have candy on it that I dislike, I would have just kept it. My friend said the woman who took our orders wasn't very nice when she went back in. Another employee stepped up to the counter and took it to fix. She was very nice, she made me a new order and we were on our way. read more

Haven't been to a Friendly's in forever, so my sister and I decided to check it out! My French Dip SuperMelt was delicious! Two of my favorites in one! I wish my fries were hot, but my clam chowder was hot and delicious so that's a plus! I came to this Friendly's with my two young boys this week. It's early Spring but feels like Winter. I used to work at friendlys in Long Island, NY as a teenager. So I knew it as very family oriented. I don't recall the menu being so elementary. But this is def a space for you to bring the kids! All of the food is very child friendly...from the tuna sandwich to the chicken pops to the drinks and the ice cream desserts! I can't stress enough that this place is for kids which was my sought after little of place for my kids but if you don't like kids or are looking for top chef food, this is not the place for you. I ordered a fishamajig (see what I mean) which is just a fish sandwich and it came with a very limp salad, super undesirable but kids don't like salads so it made sense. My boys had a quesadilla and chicken pops. The pics kind of speak for themselves but it's basically all food suitable for toddlers and kids. A truly pleasant experience for a diner. Located along Street Road in Bensalem, this Friendly's outpost was my first time experiencing Friendly's. While I chose to pass on dessert (gasp!), I did order the Lemon Pepper Fish for lunch, which was wonderfully seasoned and the fish was pleasantly flaky. It was a great option on the healthier end of the spectrum, especially when compared to the other more traditional diner fare. The service was attentive, the decor was definitely retro, and the ambiance was busy but not overly loud. The two fish filets were accompanied by rice and steamed veggies. I love Friendly's - as long as you know what you're getting yourself into. You go for the ice cream. The Reese's pieces or peanut butter cup is my favorite. They have meals where ice cream comes with the meal. Lunch and dinner kid meals come with ice cream for $5. How can you beat that?! Kids can build their own sundae with 3 toppings which is fun but messy. Breakfast kids meals do not come with ice cream but are pretty filling. Breakfast for adults is 50% off Monday to Friday. I just paid $9 for 3 breakfasts which is unreal. Waffle, French toast and pancakes all fine. Kids meals come with bacon or sausage. I saw the elite review posting 1 star for kids kraft Mac and cheese and hot dog. Friendlys is not known for having 5 star food. It's better than fast food or Dairy Queen though. Salads aren't that healthy but the chicken fingers and fries are good. So know that you won't find anything healthy on the menu and only go when you want to eat 1000+ calorie meal. Even their sodas are huge. I loved this place as a child (what kid doesn't love ice cream) and love that it's around for my kids so stop posting the 1 star reviews and enjoy it for the ice cream shop restaurant it is. Plus it's super cheap. You can't find kids meals for $5 anywhere nowadays. We probably should have just left the restaurant because it only got worse. They have a lack of management at this restaurant. No one seemed to know what they were doing. I've been going to friendly's for many years. It's always been a good restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner. You would never think a place like this would have good Breakfast but they do. Everyone should give it a try. I got the lumberjack breakfast. And came with scrabble eggs, 3 peices of bacon, and French toast, and a freind of mying got the Samething. And can't go wrong, with 2 breakfast and 1 orange juice and coffee for $11. Yup that's all. Special going buy one breakfast get 2nd breakfast at half price. the dinners are even better to. Always good. I've always been a fan of the burgers and of course the Buffalo chicken sandwiches and strips the fries always have a nice crisp and seasoning to them. It's a family freindly restaurant. Take out experience was okay. We ordered chicken quasadilla and a buffalo chicken platter. The worker was diligent and rang us up in a timely matter. We waited a total of 15 minutes to get our food. Within 5 minutes our sundae came out. I'm not sure why they gave it to us already and wouldn't keep it in the freezer considering it was 99 degrees that day.
