You come here for the ice cream. Period. Anything else? Well... you're rolling the dice. I don't mean that the food is bad, per se! But, I can't remember the last time I've had a meal here (beyond dessert) where I wasn't painfully sick the next day. And please... don't ask what I mean by that. Just leave it as "tummy issues." It's not just this location. When they were open in Crofton, I had the same issues. I don't get it, either. The food is okay, it tastes fine, and I can't remember any time when it seemed "off." Maybe there's an ingredient (oleo-something) that triggers me? Anyway... This last visit, I split the spicy grilled cheese with my spouse, and man... what a tasty treat! I loved the berry-habenero jam!! There was plenty of cheese, and the sandwich was perfectly grilled. Fries: standard, nothing insane here. It was a great dish! Dessert, though, that's where I saved room. I had the Reese's Pieces sundae, which is both smaller than I remember, yet also still too much to finish! It's plenty big for the price, and the flavors are still spot on! What I didn't know before was, you can swap out any ice cream flavor for the vanilla!! Game Changer!! So, I went with the butter brown sugar chocolate covered pretzel... thing. And let me say, it was a flavor revelation. Unreal. So good. Coming back for this alone. Yes, please. On the downside, the place is well overdue for some TLC (i.e. renovation) and a good thorough clean would not go amiss. I wouldn't say it was 'dirty,' just... not clean. The staff was plenty helpful and friendly, though. Literally putting the 'friendly' in "Friendly's." Ha ha, dad joke! No, but serious, if anyone on the management team is reading this, please give props to your servers. They are doing a great job. Definitely a dessert destination and worth visiting again! read more

Quick service at the door and taken promptly to our booth. Waitress was awesome, and was very safe with her covid mask and gloves. Quick update. Deleting some of what I said. I still had a not great experience with my Reeses Pieces Sundae, The ice cream was icy, not creamy, not the wonderful texture and taste of Friendly's ice cream. And the candy pieces were not great I thought the. Restaurant changed their recipes in the same way that the retail ice cream did. 2 different owners now. Dean has drivin Friendly's into the ground. Glad to see they are going backrupt. Hope someone comes in and brings Friendly's products back to the way they should be. I will be driving a hour back to this location this weekend probably to try it again and see if its any better. I may actually try the location down the street. Stinks, Glen Burnie has 2 Friendly's and VA has none. I will update my review once I go back again. I did get a response from Friendly's restaurant telling me nothing has changed recipe wise in the restaurants which I am happy to hear. read more

I'm originally from Springfield, MA (home of friendlys ice cream), so I have an incredible love for this place. When I found out that there was a friendlys (multiple) here in (Maryland), you know I was stoked! Discretion on this part of the review, it's been over a year since I've had their food, but this is what I remember from my experience. My go to for food is their honey bbq chicken melt... obviously. You can't go wrong with this selection. 9/10 My go to for ice cream is the same every time - mint chocolate crunch with caramel instead of fudge, add walnuts and rainbow sprinkles. Delicious I believe the name of our server at the time was Jordan who was AMAZING. Again, this was last year so I could be wrong... but the name sounds right. Although I haven't sat down at this location since my visit then, I have ordered ice cream to go on multiple occasions. I have also had the hunka chunka pb fudge lava cake sundae and omg it's so delicious. Friendly's will always have a place in my heart. Highly recommend read more

We had a long wait before being greeted and led to a table, but the very kind waitress explained that there were only two of them working in an almost-full restaurant! Despite this, the service was excellent and timely. The onion rings and mozzarella sticks were fabulous appetizers. I wasn't especially impressed by the veggie burger but the waffle fries made up for it. Overall, a good place to stop but they need more than two waitresses working a busy lunch shift! read more

Went for a quick lunch. Server was attentive and appetizers were good. Our entrees came out quickly and tasted great! I highly recommend the crispy chicken wrap - absolutely delicious! The only cons in my opinion would be that several servers ignored us when we first came in, so we were standing up at the hostess stand for a while and I do think the menu is overpriced for diner-type food. We had one of the worst dining experiences of our lives here last night - Valentine's Day. I know this isn't fine dining, but our experience was completely unacceptable. Here is a summary of our experiences: 1. We were seated across from and next to two families with wild children. I'm talking screaming at the top of their lungs (both the kids and the adults), crashing into the divider at our table, running around the restaurant and jumping on other guests' tables, and climbing all over tables that had already been cleaned for incoming guests. For the entire hour we were there. Management refused to say a word to any of them, so the rest of us had to suffer. We were talking and lamenting with each other that it was unbearable and that the restaurant refused to do anything about making the experience completely miserable for the rest of us. We had pounding headaches the rest of the night. Not to mention, it was gross that these wild kids were allowed to literally climb all over tables that had already been cleaned and set for the next guests - and the restaurant did not clean the tables again afterwards. 2. We ordered crocks of clam chowder and they arrived half filled. The food runner said they were almost out of chowder and we were "lucky" to get what we did. We were charged full price anyway. 3. Our coffee cup was also half filled, old tasting, and COLD. So was the refill we had to ask for. 4. Our water had a funny taste to it. We actually felt very nauseous after drinking it 5. Our $7 sundae was also half filled. A large Reese's Pieces Sundae is always piled high above the rim, with plenty of ice cream and whipped cream and sauces. Ours arrived in a sundae dish that was literally half filled, not coming close to reaching the top let alone piled above it, with no whipped cream or marshmallow sauce, hardly any peanut butter sauce, and definitely not five scoops of ice cream (although we were charged for the large sundae). What arrived was a completely melted goopy mess (none of the ice cream was solid, it was like they had it under the heat lamp) with hot fudge spilled all over the outside of the dish, which got all over our table and hands. 6. We ordered a kids meal to go and they forgot the fribble. We assumed it was in the bags they handed us because our waitress said everything was in there, but it wasn't. So we got beat out of our fribble. 7. We had to wait forever to pay our bill. Not sure where the waitress went. $50 for this amazing experience. We will never be back! read more

Nothing special really. The restaurant was pretty busy, even for a Saturday afternoon. The service was quick, but the food was just 'warm'. The fries were bland and tasted like they reheated, barely crispy. We ordered burgers and mozzarella sticks. The sticks cane after the burgers, as we asked about them. Been coming to this Friendly's location for decades with only the occasional slow service. We stopped tonight for Reese's Cup Sundaes to go. When we got home, we realized that the sundaes had all the toppings but NO ice cream. We never thought to check the order to make certain it actually contained ice cream. This was a great experience for the family, we had a sweet little lady as our waitress refilled drinks with grace and was very sweet with a kind laugh . You can tell she enjoyed it there and so did i , i got the chicken tenders tossed in buffalo sauce and they were bewildering . Then after i was upholstered i had to get some friend z , of course i took it home and had a bite before tossing it in the freezer , and this one little bite reminded me of my childhood going to friendly with my grandmother and getting one of these and promising her i would eat the whole thing and only having two spoon fulls . overall delight in dining here and would recommend. read more

Went to Friendly's this evening 6/3/19. I stood at the hostess stand for 10 minutes and no one came over. I saw a server and asked him if there was a hostess that would seat my husband and I. His exact words were "the wait staff seats the guests and they are all currently busy." He walks off and comes back over a few minutes later and says " I can seat you, how many." He seats us and we sit in a booth for 15 minutes, not one staff member said a word to us or took an order of any kind. Will not be returning to this location ever. read more

Why I got friendly with Friendly's is because of the coupon bound. This friendly's is not friendly in leaps and bounds. It's small like you are eating in a truck and feel cramped with diners so got my order to go. The floors need more sweeping, mopping or better yet, renovation. The food tastes like a copy cat of some other chain restaurants. For ice cream, why not go to Baskin Robbins where you can see the different, new flavors. At Friendly's, you can't see the ice cream but you have to pick it from the big menu. I just can't be friendly with that. This friend is on my list of bad chain restaurants. read more

This is the worst Friendlys in the whole chain. I door dash Friendlys at least 3 times a week ( I know cut me some slack everybody has a habit I don't drink,smoke or do drugs) the last 3 times we have ordered our order has been missing 2 sundaes or more or the sundaes have been made completely wrong. For example a Jim Dandy with ice cream and whipped cream no other toppings. Tonight tried to call to complain I eventually hung up after waiting for a manager for 12 min.
