My buddy and I stopped by this shop after a good morning MTB ride in the trails of Chuck Lennon Park. We were some hangry riders after that. So after a long drive back home, we ventured to check this place out. I'm a big supporter of mom and pop shops, so I definitely wanted to see what they had to offer. Inside this place is Major League Baseball themed and even some of their sandwiches are baseball themed named. What we ordered and our taste impressions... My buddy ordered the Triple Play (3/5): He said that it was just average at best, like a sandwich you can make up at home. I ordered the Philly Cheese (3/5): Something was just off with my sandwich as well. It felt like it was lacking something, like it needed more Mayo or some seasoning. It wasn't bad by all means, and it was not wow by all means, just in the middle. Other than that, the staff were super friendly and our food came out at a reasonable time. Knuckle Sandwich is a hidden gem in Palm Coast and Flagler county. Super friendly staff and owners that will make your sandwich anyway you want. Hot, cold, pressed any toppings they will do it. The menu is semi large but with a great variety of different sandwiches or salads. They also serve breakfast sandwiches that we will return to try next time. I've been frequenting Knuckle Sandwich Sub Shop for over a year now and they never fail to impress me! My first review was a little short on the details. In the time I've been going there I've been able to try a variety of their menu items (it's a pretty large menu so it might take me some time to get through everything, especially since I have my favorites). Breakfast - My favorite is the Knuckle Breakfast. This is a sandwich that will make time stand still! Bacon, egg, cheese, sausage, taylor ham (it's NOT called pork roll!!! At least not where I'm from!). You couldn't ask for a more beautiful creation! If you don't have the appetite to handle the Knuckle Breakfast, you can get a sausage, egg & cheese or a variety of other selections, and they're all amazing! Lunch - Huge, delicious subs!! One of my favorites is the Triple Play, but whatever your favorite deli meat is, I can assure you it will be amazing! I also like the Italian. Specials - Tacos on Tuesdays and hot dogs on Wednesdays. They even have the famous Chicago dog! They recently added wings to the menu, and that's an every day thing. In case you didn't realize, this is a baseball themed establishment. I've been in Palm Coast eight years now. Can't believe I haven't run into this place before. Just by chance I found out about this place and went in. Absolute best sandwich in the area. I am from New York originally, home of the best delis. While I can't say the selection and desserts, etc. are that of a New York deli, I can say that the stuff they have is top quality and is excellent. I will definitely be returning back. It's worth the trip off the beaten path to get to this place. Just for reference, I had a roast beef sub, tomato and provolone. The roast beef is better than any roast beef I've gotten in the area. I don't know the brand they use but far better than boars head and Publix. Provolone was fresh and tasteful and the tomatoes excellent. The bread is a mix between French and Cuban. The only thing is I wish they were open later I get off work during the week around 230-3 and have a 45 min drive they are always closed when I get into Bunnell! I thought it was terrible. I ordered a Philly cheese steak sub and they take cooked steak and throw it on the grill. That's like eating leftovers. Is that how they normally do it? I don't know. That's how they did it this time. Was it a mistake and they didn't want to throw it out so they waited for the next order and just put it back on the grill to heat it up. Either way it's wrong. How long does it take to cook shaved cheese steak on a Hot grill? 5 minutes at the most. I've worked at some of the best philly cheesesteak delis up north. And I made thousands of cheesesteak subs and we never used pre-cooked steak. Unacceptable. Plus they were rude and cranky. I went in there and the help was arguing with a customer. It's too bad cuz I live close by and I'd eat there a couple times a week if I thought it was any good. But I'll never go back. Sandwiches are super yummy and meats are very fresh tasting. I got the Ruben. The rye does have seeds but still perfect amount of meat and dressing. My son got the BLT on a Kaiser roll. He liked it but noting to write home about. The husband got the Chicago. Also a very good sandwich. I would defiantly visit again for a quick grab lunch. I wanted so badly to find a good family owned deli. Daughters were sweet, father was o.k. made me feel rushed when deciding on a 2nd sub. I specifically told him I did NOT want deli meats so I picked out 2 subs that 1 was supposed to have STEAK (not steak ums) and ham (which was non existent)on the Houston Astro and the other said ROTISSERIE chicken and it was some kind of white meat. The provo he uses is gross, you can't even taste it, taste like wax. When I went to inform him on his own Facebook page, he blocked me after saying the meat is NOT ham. No, HAM was supposed to be the 2nd meat after STEAK. SUB standard is what his place should be called. I even posted a picture of what I received compared to the photo he supplied and mine looked like something stepped over it a few times. 2-10" subs for $19.24 plus a tip/RIP off. I do not recommend nor will I be back. PUBLIX is the best game in town. I even wished him good luck walking out the door. read more
