Cool place to hang out when having a drink with friends. Plenty of food truck options - the Hot Dog truck at Kulshan itself is outstanding.

This is exactly the addition that Bellingham needed! An amazing waterfront area for people to hang out and meet near down town with great beer and places for kids to play. I really hope this never gets taken down and becomes a permanent fixture of Bellingham. The beer was extremely fresh and crisp. It was exactly what a great hazy ipa needs to be. Of the dozens of breweries we have been to this is definitly one of my Favorite now. Not only does it have the perfect atmosphere, but the staff is super friendly and the beers are phenomenal. It also looks like you could have small concerts here which is a great touch. The only thing that might be bad is that since it is all outdoor seating, it may be a bit cold in the rainy season but that's what you would expect so dress accordingly. Overall I couldn't recommend this place more. read more

Great atmosphere and pretty good beer. It's nice to have a mix of picnic tables in the shade and the sun. There is a tented area, and a grass area for kids to run around. There is a lot of food close by, and they have glass cups which we were very happy to see. Everything was clean and service was fast. There is also a lot of parking very close. I hope this place stays open for a long time. read more

My son is graduating from Western Washington University with a Masters in Business administration. He paid for a reservation back in May 2026 for June 12th. However the world cup falls on that day also and he was contacted and told they could not honor his reservation and return his deposit. However this caused us a lot of stress and I contacted them and they said we could just show up and find a table for 25 people. Did the business not know the world cup was coming and why did they take the reservation that he paid for. We will go there and hopefully find a table for 25 people. But in the future we will not spend a dollar at this business at all. The world cup is a short-term thing but we live here. read more

Our first stop on Tuesday 24 September. Lots of free street parking. Wow....so much space!! Cara was our beertender. My mom asked about a few light beers and if she could just taste hem? Cara obliged nothing that if it was busier she wouldn't be able to get a sample. A little odd... but it wasn't an issue. We were the only ones there on a sunny and breezy morning. When we went to leave I assumed we'd run in to a biffy....nope they have actual bathrooms. Thanks! It's truly a great space.... so much space and shipping containers w murals on them. The Austin folk had told us they sell ice cream out of one of he shipping containers. There was also some food offererings. Definitely stop by if you get a chance. You can't miss it w all the mural covered shipping containers and the massive rusty old Digester tanks. read more

What's there not to love about an outdoor community? Kushan is staple Bellingham beer, and it's kid/dog friendly. There are a number of food options, inclining BYOP (Bring Your Own Picnic), and a big open space to get some of that energy out. It can get crowded on the long summer nights, and I like to go down when they have live music, at least once per week. It's a great gathering spot for happy hours, parties, meet and greets, and just plain hangouts. There's plenty of parking, especially if you're willing to walk a bit, and I have never felt unsafe in that area when the garden is open. It's a really wonderful place to just be a part of the Bellingham community and drink some delicious beer! read more

I really love Trackside and was excited to bring my family here. The burgers outside the beer garden were great, but during our visit a gal collecting glasses came over and very rudely snatched my brother-in-law's beer, saying "you can't drink this in here." It was an honest mistake bringing it from the burger stand inside to Trackside, none of us thought about it, and she could've explained it kindly instead of making it uncomfortable. I've never seen staff handle something that way before anywhere in Bellingham, and her attitude honestly ruined the vibe for us. I hope this was just a one-time thing, because otherwise Trackside is a place we genuinely enjoy. read more

We came upon this place on the first "E-Bike" ride around Bellingham. We recently did another "bike to beer" around the ham, and made Trackside STOP#1. It is in the commercial area, surrounded by old silos which make for a cool photo op, or background! A large grass courtyard, for kids and dogs to play; surrounded by shipping containers which house: beer, food, and bathrooms! They even have a dirt bike track with jumps. (You know... If you're into that kind of thing!) The beer container is ran by Kulshan. They have plenty of beers on tap, to accommodate any beer style preference! The only gripe I have is they don't offer beer flights. When I'm "biking to beer" I prefer smaller pours. Plus I am a beer enthusiast and I like to try all the beers on tap (without getting naked wasted!) Pints are my downfall. I am a quick drinker, and as soon as my pint is gone I have to have another. It's a dangerous cycle! I digress... Trackside is definitely my favorite place to hang out in Bellingham. I could literally spend alllll day here (as long as there is sun!) read more

I can't figure out if this is a permanent thing or a pop up that stays for a long while. We spotted this from up the hill and thought it must be an event that was going on. We could see all the containers in the distance and what appeared to be some kind of bike event. A little research promised me my fav food truck was currently there, but this turned out not to be the case. I appreciate anywhere that has multiple options for food choices, where everyone can get what they want and meet up for a meal together. There were quite a few options and tons of large tables to eat at. There are two containers dispensing beer, which had some different options. Lines were speedy on a busy Saturday. There were also an appropriate amount of bathrooms, although many were porta potties for a beer drinking place of this size. This place is kid friendly with many parents sitting on the outskirts so they could watch their kids do the free bike track right next door. They also have a container that rents bikes in case you get an inkling to try it too and didn't bring your own bike. The bike tracks seemed to vary in difficulty level and also weren't too crowded. For those who may not like biking there is a field area and some hula hoops. There was a stage as well, but nothing was going on when we visited. I always feel so bad for kids whose parents make them hang out in breweries, but if you had to choose a place for this, here seems a better choice than most. I don't recall what used to be at this location, but there are remnants of some old silos or something, which add to the coolness of the location. read more

Wow, this is the little beer garden that could! It's just what Bellingham needed...but didn't even KNOW it needed! I was up in the Ham this past weekend and wanted to check out the Trackside. I've heard soooo many things about it since moving away but I wanted to see for myself. Upon arriving, I was more than impressed with the area. It's not JUST a giant outdoor beer garden; it's a growing, burgeoning little container park starting to fill up with restaurants, retail, and food trucks. Oh, and let's not forget both the big kid-friendly and little kid-friendly bike tracks (with rentals available too). Judging by the huge crowd on this lively Saturday night, not to mention TWO live bands playing (and, of course, delicious Kulshan-brewed beer flowing) Bellinghamsters have embraced the Trackside. I only hope it survives (and keeps it's super chillax vibe) as the area continues to develop. If there's one place that really embodies the Ham, it's this! read more

Here for a High School Reunion, and for someone who doesn't drink alcohol, there was little to review. But I wanted to highlight the great outdoor space for making it a child-friendly spot. So many families spent daylight hours riding on the dirt bike track adjacent to Kulshan Trackside Beer Garden, then hung out in the lawn directly beside the numerous picnic tables available, and stayed until dark. Food trucks are available outside of the brewery, and just behind, which allows for patrons to order and bring food to the beer garden patio (some of which was covered by a tent) to enjoy. Non-alcoholic options are sparse and not at all intriguing (think: canned sodas). read more

Great beer in an awesome setting. Bring your bike. Bring your kids. Bring your kids' bikes. Bring your dog. Hell, you could probably bring your cat if you wanted to (assuming it's on a leash and well behaved, but I'd check first) You don't need to bring any beer though, because you'd be hard pressed to find anything better than what they're brewing right here. Their Trackside Haze IPA is as good as anything you'll find anywhere, and this is the only place you can get it. I brought my kite, and flew it in the gravel lot on the corner. "Chill" doesn't begin to describe this place or the setting at The Portal - Bellingham's shipping container village. What a great experiment in urban space repurposing! It's everything a city can and should be doing to bring people together, to reuse and to inspire. Oh, and the beer is pretty darn tasty too. I had an insanely good raspberry gose, which was not too sour and not too sweet and oh-so colorful. There are several choices nearby for accompanying food. The Pacific Northwest beer and bicycle seen are very closely related. You'll usually find brewery customers who bike to their favorite watering hole, but Trackside takes this one step further by having a bicycle pump track on premises. There are several different tracks that vary in skill level from the very basic for kids (small jumps and a smaller course) to a larger track with large jumps for when you gain confidence from the smaller tracks They have a few food trucks available as well as many Kulshan beers. Non-alcoholic options are also available. There's also a very large outdoor area that's like a beer garden right next to the tracks which is great for social distancing outdoors. The only small bits are that you cannot bring your beer into the area with some of the food trucks, they don't offer ice for non-alcoholic drinks since they serve out of a large shipping container, and samples aren't available at this location due to space limitations. This is a very unique offering that combines biking and brewery better than I've ever seen before. Highly recommended! read more

What a great family oriented place to have fun with your kids while drinking craft beer. We parked across the way and we're drawn to this place seeing the families, laughter, hula hoops etc. The brewery serves out of old railway cars. There are plentiful Picnic tables and standing bar areas. Families brought in blankets and food to sit in the lawn, parents were playing for hole with their kids. I could see at night this turning more towards adults. This is also a very dog friendly place and is right next to a bike park surrounded by vintage buildings. There are food trucks outside the brewery and bathrooms. We can't wait to go back and spend more time. read more

Verrrrrrry cool place. Excellent food choices in adjacent containers, plus a food-truck within the Kulshan area, lots of covered seating as well as sunny seating. There's a big, grassy, play area with hula hoops, etc. Within eye-shot, there is a cool bike track for kids (adults too, I suppose). A putt-putt golf course was nearly done being constructed when we visited. What a fantastic place to bring a family or big group - easy for everyone to find something to eat, drink, play, relax. I've always enjoyed Kulshan pilsners and lagers. My drinking mates raved about the IPAs as well. We will be back! read more

I was really excited to visit this location while on a trip home to see family in Bellingham on 7/6/23. While the venue was very cute, I had the worst bar experience of my entire life here. I ordered a cider at the bar and my boyfriend asked for a water (he does not drink). The bartender was very rude to him about asking for water which was strange. I provided my ID and the bartender proceeded to stare at it, run it under a light, then told me he "there are several things wrong with it" I asked if it was due to it being an out of state ID, and he rudely told me no and that he can call the police down here and I can answer to them about my identity or if he gives me back my ID I need to leave. It was so incredibly rude and humiliating. He treated me like I was a criminal when I had done nothing wrong and threatening to call the police on me was really unacceptable. I was not rude at any point, it honestly scared me because I need my ID to fly home after my trip. I am 28 years old, not a teenager. I was just trying to spend time with my mom, sister, and nephews and was made to feel so uncomfortable that I didn't even want to be there anymore. My boyfriend later spoke to a nice employee named Eric who reviewed my ID and eventually brought me a free cider and apologized. The bartender never apologized. I completely understand taking precautions as a business, I work in the legal field and I was not that upset at being declined a beverage if they felt unsure. However it was the way I was treated, never in my life have I experienced this. I cannot see myself ever wanting to return here or to any other Kulshan Brewing Co venue and it was a horrible experience. read more

Came for the root beer, and left surprised by how good the food at Simmering Tava was. We ordered the Vegan Poutine Fries and the Vegan Curry Potatoes and Rice with Vegan Roti. It was outstanding. The French fries were perfect and the chickpea gravy was great. The curry was delicious, great rice, and the roti were nice and soft yet thick. Really enjoyed it. read more

Not family friendly. This place is setup next to the waterfront pump track (and purports to be family friendly I assume). We saw the place and thought it would be great to grab a quick beer after the kids were done playing. It was Tuesday night around 6pm. We walked over and found out they wanted a cover charge!!!
