I read a ton of bad reviews and I can't seem to understand why... the food is absolutely delicious! I've tried many different Nica restaurants and this one is on the money! This is your local hole in the wall, the service was friendly and fast. The food was plentiful and definitely worth it. I didn't find the food pricey at all especially considering everything in south Florida is through the roof! Delivery on a Wednesday we were looking for something quick and delicious. We got fast delivery and just OK food. The gallo pinto, friend cheese and chicken were great. This review is based on the food as well as the delivery. I wanted something quick and fresh and not fast food lol so I opted for UberEats and ordered from this Fritanga. The order arrived quick and way before the estimated time. That in itself is 5 star service. However. I thought it was a little unreasonably price being that it's over 2 dollars for one piece of fried cheese nonetheless I had the cheese with some charbroiled steak, sweet plantains and rice mixed with black beans (Moro). The moro was very fresh and good. The sweet plantains were ok but lacking (only given 3 little plantains). The steak was good as well. Overall not bad and hit the spot. Highly disappointed. We ordered delivery from here. The meat was cold & burnt so was the gallo pinto and fried cheese. We ordered a side of extra meat and it was also cold and it was 2 half pieces. Small quantities and way over priced. Been here a couple of times, always leave disappointed, last visit I asked for 2 pieces of steak, salad and fried cheese , all À la cart. I saw lady fishing around the steak tray for about 10 sec, ( here I am thinking she's fishing for a nice piece) turns out she gives me the 2 smallest pieces in the trey. Nicaraguan food should NOT be judged by what is served in this place. Awful service - we asked for fresh carne asada (we saw that a new batch came out) and the woman serving the food assured me that what was on my plate was fresh. She lied. She gave me the old cold meat. She then proceeded to give me burnt cheese and an over heated tortilla. It was so overheated that the logo from the bag she gave it to me in was imprinted on it. Awful management - The cooks are afraid of the manager and the manager is incompetent (she overcharged our bill by $30 and had to give it back in cash). Awful food - the gallopinto is dry and old, the carne asada is not of good quality, the cheese is as rubbery as a flip flop, and the tajadas are oh so greasy. The family that owns this hell hole is Colombian so the food is not authentic by far it's closer to Cuban than Nicaraguan! The son who mostly runs the register is so ghetto and rude with his pants down low! My "carne asada" was bloody and I was disgusted I went back to return it I was denied a refund and denied the opportunity to pick something else "because I already left and can not resell my food" OBVIOUSLY he can't resell it but how can I know my meat is raw until I cut it at home where I was planning to eat?!?! He even called his mom who supposedly agreed with him! If I could give this place less than 1 star I would. I usually go to a fritanga and get their carne asada (I mean it's what fritangas are known for). I sent my brother to go get the food and what I got delivered at home was disappointing. My brother told me they hadn't realizing they were running out of meat so we got the smallest pieces of meats. Not the usual thick long strips of meats but small chunks. The congri (rice and beans ) was greasy and the plantains looked like they had been sitting there for hours. Never going back to this place. So here's the deal, this place has good food but since they changed ownership about 6 months ago, they did alot of upgrades, they also passed their upgrades to the consumer/restaurateur/hungryperson. So it used to be you could go in their with 7 bucks and eat good food, but now, for two people you are easily spending 30 bucks since each plate or order ends up about 10 bucks, tack on the side order of plantains and two drinks and it's back up on the pricey side. I was hungry, running late, and wanted some warm food so I didnt have to cook dinner so late...I walked in once before and walked out because I didnt like the way the food looked but i decided to try it out today and just like the first time I should have walked out. The staff was very nice and the place looked clean but again all the food looked way past its holding time. Besides the fact they probably throw away all the food at night...they literally served the smallest portions i have ever received from a fritanga.like im talking about measuring it and scraping off if theres extra.... Leftovers??? We barely had enough food to feed my family. And anywhere else with 2 completas i would have left over lunch for me and my boyfriend for the next day. The rice was old and hard. The platanitos were cold and hard as well. And that was the best looking side because everything else was so old it looked nasty. I've eaten here before, it's always been alright nothing to rave about. This time the food was terrible. The pork in the Nacatamal was so dry it fell apart like powder. The delivery was super slow, took over an hour. When they got to my house I guess they were in a rush because they rang my doorbell like crazy and honked their horn.
