This is the type of place that makes you opine for the days of "mom and pop" businesses and no big box / e-commerce. We recently bought new kids bikes and serviced adult bikes and I cant say enough how great Aaron, the owner, is! First his knowledge of the products is impressive. Second, they sell quality bikes. Not the junk you get at Target and Wal Mart. Third, they don't try to up sell or oversell. My wife and I admittedly weren't experts, and Aaron explained everything to consider because we were buying "surprise" gifts. The kids got great bikes, fitted and adjusted by Fritz. Afterward, I had a question about the work, and Aaron personally called me the same day to explain in detail why they chose a particular part. He even offered to replace it with an alternative if I wasn't satisfied after a couple of rides. That kind of attentive, genuine customer service is rare these days, and it really stood out. This is a true reliable place to care for your bike! I had an electric bike that I had to assemble out of the box. The back wheel was constantly being deflated and there was a screeching noise when I'm just walking the bike. I called this place and Aaron took care of it and addressed those concerns. They also gave a look through to make sure it was assembled right and made it safe, which gave me a peace-of-mind. I had a frame for a bikepacking build and dropped by to see if FBS could do a custom build. I talked with the owner Aaron and he was very knowledgeable and friendly. Even though things were still a bit crazy with the pandemic, they were able to build the bike in a couple weeks. Aaron called me when he ran into issues and was very communicative. What an amazing store! My son was trying to finish a project at college that was using a bike chain in it and they needed it shortened so they went there to buy a chain breaker tool. When you're from out of state and need help getting a bicycle inspected these guys are the best. If you're in the cycling you know that you have to be careful buying used bicycles especially when they're carbon frames. Aaron the owner is an amazing guy who is not only exceptionally nice but treats his customers with the respect, courtesy and kindness that one rarely finds in any sort of business. The shop not only sells a great range of new and used bikes but a great range of accessories as well. Whether you're looking to ride on the road or off it, long road rides or quick errands to the store, Aaron not only has the bike for you but the accessories to go along with it. All of this of course is accompanied by fantastic service for your bike. Aaron has been kind enough to stay late on a week night to help me track down a creaky bike even after the store had officially closed. Every accessory he's sold me has fit my needs exactly and been fairly priced and all the advice the shop has given has been spot on. His team is also always involved with community events, providing free bike tune ups during Bay State Bike Week to supporting local bike races to helping out at bike rodeo's for local schools. This is a local bike shop you should patronize. This is Main Street, people! My lady and I are in the market for bikes and we drove by Fritz' the other day about 15 minutes before closing. Aaron (Erin?) the owner was happy to have us, even with the timing. We found him to be passionate, engaging, and knowledgeable. He was quick to point out some deals on bikes we didn't ask about just for option's sake, and he also has a fantastic service deal included in the price of every bike. This is a seriously good bike shop. I wanted a new bike and my wife kind of wanted a new bike. We live in Boston, but could not imagine dealing with a Boston bike shop (especially right after all the college kids arrived) and figured we could probably get a better deal and better service getting a bit out of town. We were right. The owner Aaron was very friendly, had bikes for both of us, offered quite good deals (2015 closeouts), and dealt very patiently with two very picky people that visited twice for hours each time over labor day weekend. I spent more than I initially wanted, but on a bike vastly better than other models I was contemplating. Aaron in no way pushed my wife or me towards any bike and gave good advice. Also, there is free service for a year included with the purchase of a bike. Other stores might offer it as well, but it is worth knowing. Not sure on all the brands they carry, but they definitely carry Scott and Salsa, which are well regarded brands. read more

6 stars if I could! Nothing but great experiences every time I've been to Fritz's Bicycle Shop. The store itself has been recently remodeled and looks very modern and clean. Aaron, the shop owner, is a great listener and full of knowledge and years of experience; he's always pointed me in the right direction no matter the situation. When rare parts were needed, Fritz's was able to get them. When maintenance was needed, Fritz's got it done right, and in a timely fashion. And when I had any questions, Fritz's had all the answers. Also worth noting, I ride a high-end full-suspension MTB, and although Fritz's doesn't currently carry this kind of bike, they're still knowledgeable and more than capable of servicing them. I was searching for a way my son with disabilites could ride with us. He is to big for a trailer & a child seat. I researched on-line and found the whee-hoo trailer. I was excited to find that Fritz carried the item. I called and the next day they had the whee-hoo put together and waiting. I ended up going back to buy my daughter a new bike as well as having my bike serviced! Fritz & Aaron as well as one other emplyee I met (sorry I did not catch his name) where all amazing, knowlegeabe and sweet to my children. Over all great experience. Friendly and fast service! Their prices are also good. I took my bike to have the 2 tires replaced and within 20 minutes it was done and I was riding it. I also bought a helmet. The person in charge was very nice and knowledgeable. If i ever need another bike or to fix my old one again this is the place I will go back to! Fritz's happens to be the closest bike shop to me so i find myself in often for repairs, tubes, clothing ect... They have a good selection of bikes, tools, tires, tubes and other consumables.Accessories are hit and miss although you might be surprised what you find (and don't find!). This is the best bike shop I know of. The service is well priced, well actually everything their is well priced. Strangely its the only place I ask what else can I buy be for I check out, this is because they might be selling t shirts for a local charity organization or just something handy to have. I was in search of a new shop to service my bike and families bikes when they need it after Bikes and Life closed, having great experiences at bikes and life as well as the previous shop at that location. It had been years since I've been to another shop (Landry's Westboro is horrible always charge more and replace things that don't need replacing, can't speak to other Landry's location but Westboro is a no go). I digress, On July 7th I stopped in knowing what the covid situation is and asked for a tune up on my full suspension bike and informed them at that time that I would need the bike to be finished by Saturday July 18th. They said they would have it ready by Friday July 17th. I called on Friday at lunch time thinking I would swing over and get the bike, they informed me that it wasn't ready but would be later and they would call. I received a call at 4:18 PM saying the bike service was completed, but I couldn't come by as they closed at 4 PM. They advised I should come by between 12-4 Saturday July 18th. I show up a 12 PM, and along with 2 over patrons read the sign that there was a death in the family and they were closed. Understandable. I called but the voicemail system wasn't working and sent an email with my sympathies for their loss and making a simple request if it were possible to have an employee come in so I could get my bike before I went on vacation, hence the request that the bike be completed by July 18th. I asked that if the request couldn't be provided to let me know so I could make plans. I received no calls, no emails, not a word. I ended up having to rent a bike on my vacation. When picking the bike up there was no acknowledgement, no apologies, just some feedback that the bike might need some additional work. After loading the bike on my rack and bringing it home I pedaled the bike and the chain fell off, I placed it back on and rode around my yard and based on the my discussion I can tell they didn't adjust the pressure on the rear shock, so I'll be doing some work on the bike to get it to my liking even though I asked that it be done with the tune up. Other than that everything else is pretty standard, the shifting seems solid, but wasn't an issue when I brought it in, they say they replace brake pads in the tune up, I haven't checked but I'm tending to doubt that. Time to find a new shop, had high hopes based on all the good feedback here on yelp, I guess I was just unlucky. Maybe he treats regular customers better than first time customers but I won't be back. read more

The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable without being overbearing (we hadn't purchased a bike in years but weren't talked down to), and we were never pressured to consider a new rather than used bike. My husband and I brought our bikes in to Fritz's and we received terrific service. Aaron was honest and thorough. The price to repair our bikes was very reasonable.
